I see most of the people in favor of the changes are PvP players. Other than Ruffico the other half has been pretty quiet. Shock perhaps? There have been a lot of comments about how the game was meant to be or supposed to be. The problem is that that isnÆt the game it HAS been for the past 2 years. I liked EVE because of what it WAS pre Exodus. Everyone had something that they could do, and the biggest gripe was about oretheiving. That has taken a back seat to empire wars, agent ôrisk vs rewardÆ arguments and the daily alliance standing posts that most people could care less about.
I enjoy both solo and cooperative play. However, in my case corp members and friends in game as well as I have real lives. Most are working adults with families and we all canÆt be on at the same times regularly. The active alliance members are European and IÆm American. So I get one person on with me for 15-20 min, another for 30-40 min and IÆm on for a couple hours at a time, max. That just isnÆt enough time to do something cooperative.
I go to 0.0 frequently, and have to say that I donÆt find it terribly enjoyable. Part of the reason is that I donÆt like PvP in EVE, the distance to travel is long, and gate ganking and blobbing is so lame its not even funny. NPC hunting isnÆt challenging in 0.0 and the sound of mining lasers sends me into epileptic fits. New routes, fewer choke points and more frequent officer spawns will be a nice added feature. But its still chain the spawn, mine the rock, chase/hide from the intruder(s).
Another comment was about the æsolo grindÆ for isk. Until you do something about the disparity of isk made on T2 items by a very limited number of players you really havenÆt solved anything. 15-20 people ingame control 80% of the T2 BPOs.
I will wait and see how things go and adapt if it still seems worthwhile. If I donÆt feel that it has improved, for the first time in almost two years my account will go into hibernation while I try other games. No you canÆt have my stuff, I am an isk sink.
Congratulations to the PvPers in the game, you got what you wanted. We will see how the rest of the players think. More than anything actions speak loudest, I may be in the minority, but its my opinion.
