Or so I can only assume judging by the name of the Titan
He is one of the historic figures in gaming history along with Sid Maier and others. http://www.gamespot.com/features/petermolyneux/

Why is it that whenever a company dominates a market there are always people who say stuff like this. If EA had damaged the industry it would not be growing at a rate significantly greater than any other industry in this country. They have done great things for the industry, like making other industries recognize it has legitimate.

Buying a company, taking its main brands and continuously pumping out crappy knockoffs isn't something that is good for the industry, and they do so well in money terms by relying on the names of the brands - for instance Westwood and Command and Conquer. --------

Sorry if I was a bit vague there, although I agree the gaming industry has done quite well despite EA. If EA had not started the ôif you canÆt beat them, buy them and squeeze themö trend, Peter Molyneux would most likely still be at Bullfrog making great original games. Instead he had to start over with a less familiar, less talented company.

I prefer not to revisit old games, as i think the memories are best left un-updated, coz ill play the game and wonder how i ever thought the graphics were good. lol

Powermonger was the first warcraft type of game it was awesome people didn't see it. Amiga for the win!!! I saw his interview on X-Play he was a pioneer and he did take risks with syndicate and that was an overlooked game because of bad marketing. He still has good ideas but very bad implementation. I'm not spilling my ideas anymore on web boards. I have a chance to work in the gaming industry. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

EA underpays it's workers and forces them to do overtime without extra pay (several large lawsuits in progress over this). Do a search for "EA_Spouse" on google for more of this.
EA's huge market clout often prevents smaller niche games or rivals from getting a look in. Getting an exclusive liscense to all american football leagues damages the industry. (EA NFL exclusive on google).
All EA has done in regards to making other industries (I assume we're talking about multimedia industries here) respect the games industry is to show that video games can be an extra source of income when your film/tv cartoon/whatever needs a sales boost. The people making video games truely respected are the people who are as far away from EA as possible working on truely creative and innovative games, not FIFA 2006 - "Slightly Better Graphics Edition".
I could go on and on and on and on about EA but it's all been said before.

Yes big corps like Sony and EA are the blackholes of creativity. They like to mass produce games for money. Welcome to McSony and McEA 4tWin. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

Indeed Dune II was the first of that genere, i still remember playing a demo of command and conquer on the PC and the readme file's first lines of text said:
SO IS THIS DUNE3? No their completely different games.
Except they were basically the same game with altered graphics and unit/building names.

I'd like to ask CCP if they would be willing to set the names of some of the other in-game NPC Titans in a similar fashion
could two of them please be named the "Bell" and the "Braben" to mark the creators of the game which I'm sure many players consider the spiritual ancestor of Eve: Elite?
If other players would agree with this, please quote and second the proposal.

Omg, Elite, it feels like decades have past since I've played that game.
Err wait, it's been almost 20 years
That game was the king of Spectrum 48k games.
