Have someone destroy your ship or your pod and hope that the wealth of the destroyed ship is enough to remove the bounty entirely.
Chances are however that the person or persons who gave you a bounty will just re-apply one right away. Another alternative is to be inactive for 5 months (if I recall correctly from the dev blog, I'm sure a dev can answer this better) and the bounty will be removed from your character.
If you remain in high-sec and never end up war-decced, then the bounty will remain on you indefinitely, save for an increase of the amount in which a suicide-gank would be profitable. |

Exactly!
I just got in EVE tonight and I was asking about it in the HELP chat and right away, 5 or 6 pilots drop a bounty on me just for the hell of it. Now, it is up to 3.3mil + ISK and I have not even left the station.
Pretty much, I got a bounty on my head and did not even play EVE mechanics yet. So even if you are not provoking anyone. you can get a bounty on you. That's dumb!
- Raise the initial bounty to at least 10mil and if no one get you within a month or so... Lower the bounty by a percentage until someone raise it again.
- Bounty should only be inflicted on a pilot that deserve it. NOT ME! LOL.
- Also if a pilot decide to place another amount of that pilot, he can only do it once for a week or so, therefore when you place a bounty, make sure you are placing it for what it is worth.
Thx, DEIFER. |

You posted this exact post yesterday. I said that it made me want to put a bounty on you then.
It turns out that each time you post this, the urge to put a bounty on you goes up exponentially! Who knew?
Edit: Also just noticed you are a 2008 character. So you're trolling. Even more reason to put a bounty on you! Hurrah! |

In low sec people will try and kill you regardless and if your one of the people worrying about bounties your going to die the minute you enter null sec anyway bounty or not. Yeah, I honestly just wish people would get a clue... Read the f'ing DevBlog. Someone suggested in Help Chat that bounties now make ganking profitable on Exhumers. Maybe on purely officer/deadspace-fit Exhumers, MAYBE... But them I'm not entirely certain modules are calculated into the bounty. I tested on a Caracal the first day, and the payout was nowhere NEAR the 20% (closer to about 8%). Even insurance PLUS the bounty didn't cover the market value of the Caracal. Yup.. soooo seeing resuming this game. Soooo seeing why you left to begin with.... To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

Being a well knowm EVE citizen: Bounty. Posting on the damn Forums: BOUNTY. I agree that that new bounty system as it is is ridiculous. Learn to live with it.

That sure will happen very soon

IIRC it's Hull, Fittings, and Destroyed Cargo. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

I just got in EVE tonight and I was asking about it in the HELP chat and right away, 5 or 6 pilots drop a bounty on me just for the hell of it. Now, it is up to 3.3mil + ISK and I have not even left the station.
Welcome! Clearly you made a good first impression.

Welcome! Clearly you made a good first impression. In that case I wonder what impression I made. don't care about it. People tend to put bounties just for lulz. After i got my 100k i especially asked someone to put something serious on me to look more like badass

Welcome! Clearly you made a good first impression. In that case I wonder what impression I made. So basically the bounty never goes away? All you have to do is stand out from the crowd. Even a little bit. Sometimes, even that is unneccessary - All you have to do is play EVE.
Bounty removal means 'go die a few times.' Or ignore it - Most of us do. Without killrights, anyone who tries to collect on your bounty in Hi-Sec is due for a nice mug full of hot Concordokken. Elsewhere, well, you were already at greater risk being there so the bounty won't add measurably to your risk. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

1. Kill a pod to gain a killright against you. 2. Load a noobship with some crap you can afford to lose. 3. Bump high-alpha ships at a trade hub's undock.
Sooner or later someone gets annoyed, activates your killright, pops your noobship, and you will have lost both the killright and the bounty. Alternatively, roam lowsec untill you die. |

I asked this question in my NPC corp (FNA) and they say its safe, you just get along mining, missioning etc etc without worrying about the other stuff that comes along with corps...

Well, just walk into low sec...I'm sure there are plenty of people who would have no problem "releaving" you of this bounty issue you have. Or, just do what most do: ignore it and move on...no, seriously. |
