I looked through 3 pages didn't see any topics dedicated to this.
Is it intended that players now get FULL room aggro in missions?
For example:
The mission is Pirate Invasion Level 4 (Angel Cartel version) Upon warping into the first room, you see 1 group of ships 4 more warp in a different distances.
Normally: Group 1 will auto aggro you. Group 2&3 do not aggro until attacked, same with group 4&5. Allowing you to grab aggro of smaller groups.
Post Patch: Upon warning in you see 1 group, 4 more warp in and every single ship in the room with no provocation or moving by you aggros you.
Is this going to be fixed or should I start selling off my mission ships? |

Thanks for the completely off-topic and invalid post.
You obviously don't understand what I mean. The issue is not scramming frigates the issue is when you warp into any mission every single ship on the screen automatically aggros you without you doing anything to draw that aggro. |

the answer above was neither off-topic nor invalid, as it presents a solution to your problem. don't sell your mission ships. we like you.

Yes, I confirm that the missions are Deadly. I got FULL agro at another lvl 4 mission too.
The was lot of Dampeners that was hard to lock the frigs. The worse thing is that the frigs switches the scram on/off. So, you now must to kill ALL frigs to be sure you are not being scrambled.
I am very disappointed with the modification. The reward were not good at the past. Now, its useless to do lvl 4 missions even at high sec.
Is CCP thinking about to end the mission runner profession ?

Actually I have seen several post stating that the full room aggro thing is a bug. CCP is aware and working on it. I can find some of the forum links if you want but for now it is just hearsay. Reason and logic never wins over Stubborn and Convinced-á (But-áI still try..) |

hell yeah i just got my golem out of this mission in deep armor and every tank mod burnt out 8)
i dont think there is a prob with the drone mechanics - i think this can be compensated by not beeing afk ^^
BUT
the new ewar changes all apply to npc too - so serpentis mission deploy UNREAL damps on you , I went down to 11 km from 115 km and what is more important -> 250+ sec lock time on the scam frigs!
same goes for gurista missions with new tp, but thats just more dps, not like serps which are non beatable with below 1000 dps tank.
honestly CCP - the changes are great , lvl 4 missions are demanding now BUT pls change the rewards accordingly 8) |

It would be swell if either you or a Dev could link to the Dev responses saying that it is in fact a bug. From: Tommas De'Wins To: Cipher Jones Dude :) I got massives Basi hahahahahahaha |

I'm assuming that Cipher, like many others, is referring to this post by CCP Veritas. It only says that they're looking into it though, not that it's a bug or unintended.
Interpretations.. sigh.

So I guess full room aggros in some missions are just a bug.
Ewar changes? Td change seems intentional, npcs using their ewar more often not so much. AI changes affecting drones are intentional.

Yeah, I'm hoping that it's unintended and everything points to this too (everything including that devblog). Though, it has not specifically been confirmed by a dev after the release of the expansion which is what I'm waiting for.

Spent a lot of time reading and still have only found hearsay as far as the whole room aggro thing. Nothing with a GM or Dev signature. CCP Veritas wrote:Steijn wrote:Could you give a timescale of when missions will be returned to normal? By this I mean that the rooms will go back to the staged aggro instead of full room which started after yesterdays patch. As it is, with the drone nerf, certain missions are simply not worth doing as its almost guaranteed suicide.
Before the moaners start, this is nothing to do with creeping into the 'aggro bubble' either manually or via warping, or via drones doing the same thing, this is a bug that was introduced yesterday. I don't have any estimates but this has been noticed and is being investigated. Be careful out there.

I must admit, missions are VERY deadly now. Warped into a room where usually you'd get one group aggro, instead got full aggro. I was unable to track web-scram frigs and so launched drones to deal with them... Drones were getting insta-popped. My nightmare only survived because I O/H'd the tank (2k dps reps), and kept launching drones until the web/scram frigs got distracted and scrammed my drones instead. Everything's Air Droppable at least once. |

As a newly-returned player who was doing T4 missions in a Tier-1 fit Maelstrom before I left (I know it's bad ISK/hour, but I enjoyed the challenge and it's what I could fly), I would like to say that I was INCREDIBLY surprised by this bug -- if it is one.
I didn't mind my drones getting popped. I just waited for the EW and scramming frigs to get close, then release and scoop them as necessary until they were all cleaned up.
However, my first high-difficulty mission I warped in and the whole room aggroed. Something like 20+ ships start booking their way to my Tier-1 fit Maelstrom.
Predictably, I warped directly out.
Here's to hoping that this is a bug. I liked the challenge of difficult missions as a 7mil SP pilot flying a Tier 1 Battleship, but I don't really want to start losing my ships over an increase in difficulty that is THAT big. |

I seem to recall pulling full aggro in that room _before_ the patch, by just landing in the wrong spot, so I don't think WC has that problem per se, just that you land in under 10k from practically everything, and they get antsy.
What we need next patch is NPC drones. I want to do to them what the rats are doing to mine atm |

Ran this exact mission.. exact faction the day before and only one or two of the groups aggro'ed. Then after the patch I ran this mission and the entire room aggro'ed and popped my fully fitted faction / t2 fitted apoc before my drones could take out a single scramming frig. |

It's not entirely amusing. Just had a HORRIBLE experience in the assault.
Full room aggro, damped to 3 minute lock times, can't send drones because they'll just get eaten. Hellish. |

I now have to blitz the mission because there is literally nothing I can do when I'm damped and my drones will just get eaten anyway. |

That mission is awesome fun now, to copy paste from another thread on this:
Caellach Marellus wrote:On gate arrival turn away and burn in the complete opposite direction, warp out when the frigates reach 25k from you. Reenter site and lock the frigates before sensordamp ships aggress and e-war you. You won't achieve a complete lock but you sure as heck won't have to wait as long as trying to lock from scratch. Kill frigates with drones (pulling in and reapplying if needed) and web your target. Once both tackle frigates are down, warp out if necessary, otherwise proceed with blowing the hell out of everything.
Worked a charm for me.
Enjoy your gaming.

Would be fun, except as I post this, I'm watching 4 cruisers spamming the **** out of damps and orbiting outside lock range.
I could release drones to watch them die, or be locked in an epic fail of a battle until Judgment Day and trumpets sound?
They can't kill me, I can't kill them.

When you warp out the first time, the Frigates should be in close range to you when you re-enter. Begin locking them up, you'll have an almost complete lock before the damps begin screwing you over, the Frigates will be on top of you by that point.
Web your primary target, deploy drones and have your finger on the recall button. Your drones should pop the frigates pretty quickly while the webifier holds aggression, if you are getting them shot, instantly recall, wait two seconds and redeploy.
Once the tackle frigates are down, close down the rest of the fleet and engage, alternatively, warp out again, warp in, lock up and volley a couple of the buggers with your turrets.
Enjoy your gaming.
