Ummmm...since the Serpentis now have a Titan, does that mean ridiculously expensive faction offers of pirate titans in the future...?

I mean they've stolen a Titan right? So that means that they can use the galente titan as a basis for a version of their own...
All the devs need to do is make a similar event with the other race's titans (pay offs/bribes, rogue agents, "1titan dissapears on maiden voyage" headlines, etc...) and each pirate faction can have its own faction titan...
Come on! You know it makes sense!

yes, ccp would really be screwing up big time if they did that again
waaay too much new content comes through the agients, it only forces people into solo play and not group play like ccp wants

The last CCP dev chat thing on omgrawr said that there will be limited bpc drops from officer/commander spawns. So that might be one way that faction Titans will enter the game. But this is probably a long ways away (a year or so). Regular Titans have to come out before the faction ones do.

There are no player controlled titans in the game atm, so a discussion on faction titans, is a bit early don't you think?

I would be guessing that its a storyline to account for how npcs will have super captial ships for us to kill when they enter the game. After all, the npcs have to have the decent ships too! Then again npcs don't use battlecruisers so maybe they wont have titans.

guys wake up.
Even if titans will be released then no way in a world it will have 35mil shield! I bet max of 100k shield and 20-30k armor.

oh they will do, they are supposed to be mobile stations
remember we will have dreads then that can hit for 10000 damage per shot with each XL gun
so 35mil shields doesn't sound too bad

Well i hope CCP will think of something to make those buyable ONLY for corporations/alliances. Or any empire care will have one for anti-gank.

The titan in the event was the uber CCP only titan.. They can dictate how many shield hitpoint its has and how much armour it has.
If you look at eve-i.com and look up the titans, you sill see that the gallente one (which was the model used for the event.) has much more shields and armour then the other two.
As for faction titans, i doub't that there will be any titan offers, as CCP has stated they want titans to be very, very rare ... i.e you have more chance of finding rocking horse sh*t, then seeing one of these. and if they do have them as agent offers, it would be a case of several hundred million lp's and a titan.. plus tags that would take you at least a year to get if your very lucky.

In exodus beta 4 titans wiped out 400+ ships of 2 alliances.

i know the titan is supposed to be uber powerful, but if it ends up having 35million shield and 8million armour, then how the hell will anyone be able to beat it. 1 titan could wipe out half the corps in the game as it is.
is there any defense against them, like using small ships, that somehow arent affected by the uber smartbombs they seem to use?

If they end up costing 50 billion, you could probably bring about 500 tier 2 battleships to bear on it for a similar price. 500 gankeddons will be able to do 50,000 DPS. It'll fall quickly enough.

Personally, I hold the Gallente government directly responsible for its loss of the titian and any damage caused by the titian or any pirate ship designed from its specifications should be compensated in full by the Gallente government.

Dont forget the basic damage controls 
Even if titans have 35mil shields, that wont even be that unreasonable while we have titans with XL weapons out there doing some insane DPS on huge targets like a titan.

Most of you seem to be assuming that Titans are going to be gunships. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Titans are going to have limited firepower.

Seriously, If CCP does it right, we humble players will only have the possibility to get titans through events such as this one.
Otherwise, every jhonny-jim who can fly a raven in empire will be in one eventually.
And that would suck. |
