@petergriffen - I'm moving to the "only town" in PA, Bloomsburg. Sorry had to plug it... it's listed on the "welcome to the only "town" in PA" billboard as you drive in. I'm finding that everywhere else is a township so it might actually be the only town.

it is the only actual town (sister went to college there). Take a trip down to centralia(sp?) some time really wierd place to drive through.

I moved since my last post, I am now just outside Ashland, PA. A nice change from the noise of NJ :)
If no one has a BBQ before the end of August I will attempt to do one.
And yes Centralia is a strange place to see. To see smoke coming out of the ground, streets and sidewalks with no houses. Very strange but I drive thru it all the time now so its getting old. :) |

Why are you guys so surprised to see a lot of PA players? We've got 1/3 the population of California (ok I'll admit that I didn't know that till I looked it up just now, but I knew PA wasn't a "small" state).

A Pennsylvania community consumed by
an underground mine fire.
If you were driving north on route 61 in the heart of the Anthracite coal region in Pennsylvania, you may have come across a detour of 61 at the top of a hill in a community called Ashland. Thinking nothing of it you would have followed the detour signs that took you around some possible road construction or a bridge being worked on. You're then reconnected with Rt. 61 again.
Many have followed this path in recent years with little knowledge of the on going story of this little detour and the town that no longer is really a town. If you had disregarded the detour signs and make the right that 61 north takes through Ashland your first clue that something isn't right would be the abrupt end to route 61 as it once was.
