Hey,
I know about this anyways but just wondering why its there... rather annoying when you are tring to join a new corp and can't coz you had roles in they corp u are in. Any logical reason for it?

It's to prevernt disbanding a corp and reforming it to get past a war gatecamp or something. It doens't prevent it, but it means you can't cause any short-term damage by leavin the corp, getting by your enemy's defences and then rejoining the corp to blow them to smitherines. Bascially, this is considered an exploit and is a bannable offence but by putting in a 24 hour waiting period, they prevent short term abuse so there's no mess for the GMs to clear up.

It makes no sense to me. A newbie member with some hangar access has to wait 24 hours while the CEO just has to resign and leave. All in 5 mins.

People exploit quick changing of corps. Think of a few buddies joining a friends corp for a night to take advantage of an in progress war. Joining a corp could become like joining a gang.
In my old corp we had one war against a small corp that we outclassed in everyway except smack talk and exploits, thus why we where in the war. We had spent all day hunting them in empire and finaly spent the last hour camping 3 of them in the station. Finaly one of them undocked, we where new at war so we wheren't really paying attention to the fact our scanners didn't show him as Orange, we just opened fire. Turns out he had resigned as CEO, left the corp and started another one with the exact same name but the "O" replaced with a Zero.
My CEO and I both lost battleships to Concord but after a pititon we got them back and he was wtfpwned by the GM I think.

Member at a corp at war docks, changes corp undocks and get's shot at. The people who shot get shot get promptly wtfpwnd by CONCORD.
