Edited by: Corvus Dove on 16/05/2005 17:30:46 I stopped listening to Sky Hunter when he suggested you should fit one WCS in your low slot on a pirate ship.
1: Pirate in a ship you won't miss.
2: Fitting one WCS is like filling up only half a tank of gas to drive from Alabama to Mexico. "You Griefer!!!" = "You Doodyhead!!!" |

I'll be more specific. When I said it's the easy way into PvP I didn't mean to encapsulate the whole gamestyle and consequencies of being a pirate.
All I meant is if someone wants to get into PvP and kill someone it is very easy to just jump in a ship, fly to low sec empire and attack an easy target in a belt or otherwise.
Going out into 0.0 to fight other PvPers is much harder to do with any degree of success.
I admit I ain't had a kill yet but that's because every fight I've been in has been with a more experienced player in a better ship than me.
But dagnammit it's fun and I don't make any enemies that have no respect for me.

So what...who cares if his first kill was an Ibis, hauler, or Apoc??? The point was that after tasting blood he wants more! Good boy!!!!
BTW, don't need a ton of SP to PVP. I've got a younger char with just 2.1mil sp with a focus on gunnery and he does just fine in his little gankageddon

Originally by: infused Can I get some advice on where to hunt for other people? I only have 1.5m sp and i'm in a maller. I've been floating around .2-.4 space because I think i'll get eaten in 00 at the moment.
But you cannot do much even in these sectors as sentrys will nail my ass. So I'm basically belt hunting.
Anything else I can do?
Congrats on the first kill, hope you have many more to come.
Here is my advice for finding targets, this is how I started killing along with many of my mates.
Systems with .4 or lower that have spawn points, outposts and such. Get your self some good warp in points, and you will get many kills in such places.
Learn to use the scanner, it is your most important tool. When you have become good at it, you will already be way ahead of the curve most seem to ignore learning how to use it.
Dont bother ransoming, EVE is not really programed to give you enough time for that. Unless you are in a big gank fleet that has webs/scramblers and lots of fire power to drop em fast if they log.
You may want to join a pvp corp, its not about the skill points its about your skill and willingness to learn. Those that refuse you because of your skill points are not where you want to be anyways.
Good luck.

again grats on ur first kill go get teh lamers off ya man
How Many of you Have seen a hauler w/ no instas traving to a gate and ur the only 1's in local
AND NOT SHOT IT?
haulers = good points on kill boards they drop fast and drop loot if their not on return trips
what else can i say Haulers = most money making in pvp except covert ops droping covert op II or faction bs loot

Originally by: Grimwalius d'Antan I was thinking more about podding non-combat pilots such as haulers. Pirates and people who are willingly fighting you is fair game to pod, I think, but doing it to a hauler that didn't even intend to hurt you is just mean.
hey.. he ransomed the pod and he didnt pay.. GJ! and congratz to yer first kill.

yay for smack
Maybe you didnt got it, but ill try to re-phrase. Guy is new to the game, and since hes new, he cant replace his ship once he lost it. So once such new guy in shiny Maller comes into some belt where someone like you sitting in a BS he aint got even half-chance to escape if you got disruptor.
Now think before you start useless posts. -=-

you're so wrong
when i had 1.8 m skillpoints i attacked carebear hunters with 14.3 mil skillpoints in my fresh new armageddon :) you just need to get a good setup and think about those nasy interceptors :P , don't get scrambled unless you know you can win :)
attack ratting hunters , almost everyone of those only have a tank on it and nothing else because they think they don't need it ....
Happy hunting :) you'll find you're way into this very soon i think

In my opinion in most fights PVP experience and know how wins over pure skillpoints. And you've also got to remember half these people probably have 5m SP in industry _________________

See my kils on www.eve-kills.com Same thing also mostly haulers. They are good exercising. Like stretching when you wake up.

Congratz. The first kill is something you will fondly remember. Bet it was fun as hell, with the adrenaline going up and all... welcome to eve :)
I started the very same way, back in the times when a blackbird could fit torpedos and cruise missiles. My advice would be to specialize yourself on a certain category of ships & weapons, aswell as Electronic Warfare. You need to be able to scramble, target jam and webify properly, that's your key to killing your locked target.
Good luck, and keep it friendly on local with your victims, even if they spew a lot of dirt at you. If there's something the community hates, that would be a smack-talking pirate.
