EVE is dying :3 I haven't seen much to it, I stopped after people started to sell ships for less cost than the materials.. Remove local. Revamp or buff drones. Buff low and nullsec. Limit null camping possibilities. |

Inflation and manipulation are two very different things.
But just because prices are changing it could just be down to supply and demand.
Only study of the market can tell you for sure. |

Perhaps: When an expansion comes out a lot of players log in who usually don't. They want to try the new ships and modules so they build a load of stuff. Also the regular players build a lot of things to supply these occasional players. CCP Fozzie commented in the NEO that he made a lot of his money, when he played, trading around expansions.
However not many people are going to think "sweet, a new expansion, let's go and do some serious mining! Man I should also set up a big PI chain that'll take weeks to pay off".
So the price of advanced goods falls but basic goods, with increased demand and stable supply, rises.

It's costing over 50 mil to buy and properly fit a cruiser. The economy is quite terrible. I wear my sunglasses at night. |

Depends what perspective you have. I remember when it took a few months to grind the cash to buy a cruiser.. AFK-cloaking in a system near you. |

Inflation has been a huge problem in eve for the past few years, as more and more isk faucets are introduced with no added isk sinks. FW buffs, Incursions, LP, Sov Ratting, Plex selling, etc. All of it floods the market with more isk, and it never really finds a way out of the market, especially in the amounts that it comes in. Sure there are small things like cspa and broker charges, but those are meaningless when I can dual box ratting in sov space and make 200mil an hour, or go run an Incursion and do the same thing, or just orbit an FW plex and farm LP. |

It's probably our fault. http://themittani.com - Because EvE has needed a proper news site for ages |

Doing level 4s I won't be able to afford losing anything but frigs or destroyers in PvP. It just doesn't pay enough anymore. I'm awfully sick of doing them, too. I really regret selling my old character as now I don't have the SP needed to join a decent corporation. I wear my sunglasses at night. |

Transfer of isk between players through the market is a sink. So LP is a sink, not a faucet.

Barge changes = more ice. More ice = cheaper fuel prices Cheaper fuel prices = more POS's setup More POS's = more moon mining More moon mining = cheaper moon materials.
PI has come up in price because of the demand on POS control towers and equipment as well as for the demand of PI related fuel blocks. The market is all ready at a critical point where PI prices have been climbing very quickly while supply is dwindling. There were several times last week where there were simply no listings for some P1 materials because they were totally bought up. For a while there was so much PI available that it has taken this long for the prices to catch up to demand. Now there is simply more demand then then is PI available.
PI prices will continue to rise since there is the silly notion that there is little to no profit in PI. So expect fuel blocks to go up in value and buy up moon mats now before people are forced to start taking down un-profitable towers. |

I love that silly notion, it's why my second best performing public fund was PIBSK and I was trading PI under the noses of many.
Even now, I still am in the PI market for some items.

You do realise that out of that list only Incursions and ratting are ISK faucets right? |

How about learning something about Faction Warfare before commenting? Faction Warfare is an extremely LARGE ISK SINK. The only way we make ISK is by using our own ISK + LP to buy faction items which we buy on the market. This means that when we buy said items from faction store - we are getting rid of ISK out of the system.
So yes - Faction Warfare can make a lot of ISK. But it does not create ISK, learn mechanics. |

Should probably also account to a higher local activity in EvE and higher investment into tech two manufacturing as well as hull building due to the new patch. Patches on any game that changes an item will usually always effect the economy. |
