Well been in Khanid Agent system for quite some time and have aquired quite a small fortune in Amarr Officer Tags in doing so.
Talking over like 1800 tags in all of the basic tags.
Now my problem is Khanid is under Amarr faction so I do come accross the occassional amarr serveilance officers at gates here and there. Once i get to kor azor region tho ..... look out.
I'm trying to get to bloodraider space to sell them.
Now khanid is surrounded on the close side by kor azor region and amarr regions which will nail me for the tags. Not far at all really this way but the faction hit if caught and scanned by any amarr vessle ..... oh boy. bad enough just from one mission with 10 tags.
I'm thinking my only bet is to go the uber long route which would be out past Gehi thru Aridia and in through gallente space. Like 70 jumps that way. That really doesn't thrill me in the slightest.
Any smugglers have any pointers for me?
Covert ops and cloak. uber high speed inty and just run for it.
What about insta jumps. Do insta jumps work for anti scanning. if your insta's are perfect and allow your autopilot to instajump as soon as you come into gate outta warp, do they work with the engage disengage autopilot insta's?
This trip has me quite nerved.

someone told me you dont get any losses due to having tags... might be a bug - might not. i'd test it out with an alt or sum ;)... or pay somone to do it for you (test).
...new sig coming up Ravenal - Fate is what you make of it. |

Ammar tags? If you have The Ammar navy raid leader 1 or the Ammar navy fleet commander i will take those off your hands for a small fortune...
Anyway, about your question. I have heard from a few sources that if you have a very fast ship (ceptor, executioner..) you just mwd to the gate and jump then close the window after. But i found instas work well. The customs biotches have a 60% chance of catching you. Another way is to make an alt with the skill smuggling at start. Personally i like the insta way my self.

tags are contraband but carry no penalties for carrying them so the ar safe to move, only thing its stops is you selling amaar tags in amaar stations.

Thanks for the advice guys.
Been popped a couple times moving a few here and there and basically got hit with amarr faction losses. Just that the losses are multiplied by the quantity. Got lots of general rank tags. Got atleast 1000 frigate rank tags.
Afraid if I get caught with this much it will push my amarr standing to shoot on sight which will about totally ruin my game but oh well there. I want the iskies.
Looks like I'm gonna have to set some new insta's and make sure they work perfectly to the gate.
And sorry SirSpectre, I do have one of them. Only trading it for a Nightmare 1 run BPC. I got the amarr one.
I should have gotten the ammatar one by now as well but haven't.
I want one too(nightmare).
i used to get about 50% kill amarr navy missions, about 10% kill ammatar navy. the remaining 40% were your norm missions.
Khanid missions will drop them tags EVEntually.
My way of being a carerat and shooting down the navies. but I've run soooo many missions for the Governments of Eve I'm about ready to go on a postal rampage and turn to life of crime and shoot anything in sight. I'm not racial, I'm not prejudiced, everyone looks good in my crosshairs.
Thus I am cleaning my main agent location and getting ready for a move.
thanks for the advice again guys.
<my sig>Looking for a new corp and looking to have some new fun in eve. eve mail me ingame ..... I don't fit in too well in gallente based corps. Got about 50 mill SP between two chars, I'm sure I'll find a new corp someplace.

afaik they are classed as contraband to stop you selling them on the market, you can take them thru space etc and they won't care give a low end tag to a disposable alt and try it out or you could just sell them in agil for the easy option :D
*ahem* (there are certain tags i'm looking for) *ahem*

As sableye and aeti said, tags don't carry any standing penalties, fees, and aren't confiscated so the customs won't shoot you. (Or if they do, it's a bug and should be reported/petitioned )
It's all in the item info, or, in case of tags, it isn't, but that's the point. If there was a standing or isk penalty, it would be in the legality tab, and if the customs would shoot you there would be an entry about confiscation.
And if you should doubt the word of even a forum moderator (who is, after all, just a human) I can dig around for the original posting of Zrakor (who is a god and infallible by defintion)

Edited by: Joshua Foiritain on 18/05/2005 16:35:52 A: Zarky posted Tags have no penalties, they are contraband but that contra tag only prevents you from selling them on the market. B: Tags ingame show no penatly, just the contraband flag where stuff like drugs has both a penatly and a cb tag. C: Ive moved several thousand Gallente Navy tags trough Gallente space without problems.
If customs do attack you thenb petition to have your standings fixed, stuff back and a titan to compensate for your trouble. Customs are supposed to ignore your tags.
Edit: Damn you Sherkaner...One day...! ---------------------------

K. thanks much for clearing that all up Sherk.
i got slight amarr faction penalties very early in the release of the tags and had avoided any excess transport since. Didn't know that was a bug or not intended. oh well too long ago too many transactions since.
saves me much grief, bookmarking, and much wasted travel time.

I found you still get the mail telling you that you get 0 standings loss and 0 fine
that was a few patches ago and was quite annoying :/
not sure if it still does that
