Now that we have all tech 2 guns, tech 2 dmg mods and tech 2 tanking, surely NPC's need a boost to be actually hard again, i.e. at levels where you can lose your ship to them
Proposal:
Add more support cruisers/friggies to spawns Make battleships do more dmg Make certain cruisers able to scramble you
What do you think?

no, make them drop more loot in 0.0 and let them drop TII stuff, more crazy spwans

agreed & make npc stanndings count.
e.g +5 serpentis you can mine with no hassels with serpentis spawn in the belt. _______________________________________

I'd be happy if they just added Battlecruisers and Destroyers...
But then again, NPC heavy assault cruisers would be nice

And here I thought these things were supposed to be for players to do - NPC gate camps indeed! Not everyone hunting down in 0.0 runs, can run, or can afford to run a massive T2 setup of ultimate power - they might be trying to make the money to do this. I don't think that giving the mobs a massive boost would be a wise choice.

rofl No. A +5 Serp standing should allow you to sit in the belt without getting shot, mining however should count as aggression towards npcs. Possibly even have their sentries defend you when youre being shot at, in exchange for having the navies shoot at you in empire as working for Serp ruins your standings
We dont want people AFK macromining Arkonor. A -5 Standing with Serpentis should also mean getting shot by their sentries. ---------------------------

NPC & AI in my experiance should attemp to mimik player as close as poss. _______________________________________

In that case ccp should utilise the useless convoys and direct the to roid belts for a bit of ore relocation

NPC's are ******* stupid. Sitting at belts waiting for slaughter, sitting 40km from gates doing absolutely nothing.
Wow, players camp gates so NPC's should as well? They are useless and don't do anything realistic.
It's like all NPCs have down syndrome. I know it's not easy but NPC's do need a rehaul imo. They should be removed from gates completely as all they are in 0.0 is an annoyance to pvpers.
It's just poorly designed imo.

Bring on NPC blobs! A fleet invading their system invokes a larger response. As someone kills a spawn in a belt it just keeps getting bigger and harder.

i think the npc-spawns should be small but tough as hell, i mean you have to FIGHT to kill them, not just outtank them.

Dunno if a rat ship upgrade is really needed what i would like to see is an A.I. boost: rats that target scramble big ships, rats that used inteligence in chosing targets, manuvering and using there own mods, that tanked each other, warped in and out of a fight and called for backup would be amazing and i'm fairly certain the technology to make them do that is here already

I agree, NPCs need a boost. Fighting them is no longer enjoyable when you can solo any spawn in the game. Yes im talking about officers, I can tank a 3 overlord 1 vizan ankonin for a long time. Though they do break my tank, they dont last long so after one overlord is dead im fine. We need bigger rats. like a 15m, 20m officer that has one big guy and trues, dominations, dreads, as escorts. That would be a challenge. Especially when t2 bs come out, Then NOTHING will be able to stop them, and make everything a walk in the beach. Though boosting damage would be a fun thing too. Ehh either way We need more of a challenge for NPCs.

Just curious.
They are smart enough to be able to construct their own versions of meta named tech one components that borderline on tech two capabilities but yet haven't grasped the idea of using tech two items.
I'd like to see NPC's starting to use T2 items and dropping T2 items.
IMO if the BPO was released then there should be a slim chance of that mod dropping in an NPC.

I might have to dis-agree with this :/
Not because i think they are to hard BUT the current aim of the DEVs is to get people in to 0.0 all well and good but the newer players they want to get down in to 0.0 wont have the skills or experaince to really beable to handle spawns
They warp in to tech 2 spawn, get well destoryed badly they then leave and head back to empire.
I would surguest more complexs option harder spawns :) ---------- ----

- Make NPCs warp out (aka disappear) if they go low on HP and you're not scrambling them. You're bounty hunting, and a bounty hunter without a warp scrambler should be useless. Also make them mwd away if a large portion of their aggro group is destroyed. You'll have to web them if you want the kill. It's supposed to be bounty hunting, not mindless slaughter.
- Make more NPCs warp scramble (High level ones and their aggro group). Currently only a very low portion of NPCs actually scramble you. Makes it dead easy to kill them and reduces the risk by huge proportions.
- Either remove the stupid gate NPCs or put them closer to the gate with warp scramblers and webs (Removing them is a better idea imo). Currently they serve as nothing but lag.
- Completely randomize the complex respawn rates for NPCs and structures (Including DT), and make sure that if you logoff in a complex and don't log back in within 5 minutes, you warp to the entrance beacon. Complexes are stupid atm, because people log off in the last stage and wait for the next respawn.
- Kill off the NPC market supply for modules and ammunition. There are still items that are sold by npcs on the market, ranging from ammo (which should be precious) on 0.0 markets to large weapons. End it already. Make shuttles refine for like 100 tritanium too, since shuttles along with other NPC sold items cap the mineral market.
- Make NPCs recognize standing like Joshua said. Low Serpentis standing? The guns open up on you, you can't dock in their stations. High serpentis standing? The NPCs don't shoot you unless you mine their roids or shoot first. High standing with a corp? Less broker fees and taxes in their station. Low standing? You can't sell or buy in their stations. High standing? You can use the high-sec long route gates to trade and travel after the NWO (With less taxation maybe?). Low standing? You'll have to take the Tierijev pocket like the rest of the smugglers because you're banned (Or pay a huge sum for the high sec travel maybe?). This is already in effect to some extent since -2 standing means the navies open up on you. And yeah I know that this last one is pretty drastic (aka prolly won't happen), but It's what I'd like tbh. -

I want NPC corps to send out hit squads on the pilots that that hunt kill their corpmembers (.4 and under).
I love idea of NPC gate camps and the more NPCs you hunt in a belt or system increases the chance of drawing "additional" attention. You dont think that an officer, commander or NPC miner op(ore haulers) is just gonna take it when you start shootin? they gonna call for backup.
I would like to see more NPC types and more diverse spawns.
Also how bout empire invasion by NPC rats...OMG the Grurristas have invaded lontrek!!! The are camping gates and killing NPC convoys...RUN TO THE HILLS!!!!All gurrista bounties x2 till the systems are returned to concord/caldari control. -The mind is strong and the flesh is weak, but oh the flesh... |
