As a reminder for those living on the continental United States, in approximately 1-2 hours the Geminid meteor shower will start in earnest. You should go watch.
More information EveO is a circus train that is for bafflingly unclear reasons also carrying tanks of chlorine gas,-ácrashing and exploding in the middle of a small midwestern town. -áCalling it a mere train wreck gives neither the entertainment nor the horror it offers its proper due. |

Can I see it from Jita? If not then you should have posted this in OOPD "No one drove in New York, there was too much traffic." |

Don't look at it directly. Stay inside and watch it on TV. Much safer.
Last time the entire country went out to watch one of these interstellar firework displays we ended up with half the population as triffid fertiliser.
They still have problems with them in the M5 corridor.... why you think there's all those signs up saying "HEAVY PLANT CROSSING"?
Won't somebody please think of the children.... well someone other than Jimmy Savile.

I've only seen one shower in my entire life and that was the Leonids about 20 years ago when living in Houston. We already lived 30 miles from downtown, but had to drive out another 40 miles just to get a descent sky.
It's really really difficult to view anymore.
17 years in San Francisco and definitely have not seen any, for the fog of course. I doubt anyone within 100 miles of LA can see them either.
Maybe a trip to Mendocino would work, but again, that nightly coastal fog chance.
Sigh.
Colorado mayhaps ? OR my tiny hometown in rural Arkansas. -á"I am not young enough to know everything." - Oscar Wilde |

it was perfectly clear here. just too cold to endure for more than a few minutes at a time for me. pajama pants might have had a part to play in that. i might have put 2 hours observation in all told. i think i remember it being better/more active in other years. |

I don't think you understand how meteor showers work. And if you post any Mayan apocalypse crap, please, go mix bleach and ammonia and brush your teeth with it. No.
That Fiction says it's a giant planet (invisible, natch), not meteors. -á"I am not young enough to know everything." - Oscar Wilde |
