Hey,
I'm out at E3 Games Convention at the minute (I'm a designer with Rockstar) and I just thought I'd fill y'all in on what's going down.
With the massive buzz about the next gen consoles, I thought it would be a pretty extraordinary show but I must say I have been underwhelmed by the lack of decent stuff to see...
Most of the games haven't really been running well on the next gen platforms so a lot of the show is just displaying current games that are coming out.
Highlights so far include Civ4, Ico 2, Dragon Age and a few other hack n slash things.
I went to the microsoft party when we landed but managed to miss the whole presentation so only got in when The Killers and The Chemical Brothers were on stage doing live acts (both rocked hard and I was literally within touching distance of both).
There isn't an Eve-Online stand but there are 4 Eve Devs out here. Luckily I bumped into Solaris while out in the sunshine and went over and gushed over him like a true fanboy (sorry Solaris!) I'll keep an eye out and see if I can catch the other three but they are being kept damn busy.
The rockstar stand is pretty damn cool, we have a MASSIVE floor area and no-one is actually allowed in unless they have prior invitation. There are 9 coaches there all done up with the games and it all looks awesome. It's pretty funny pushing past all the fanboys so that security can let me into the coaches... they all look so dissapointed ;)
The Sony party is supposed to be this evening but R* are holding their own private function so I am going to miss that.
Anyway, thought you guys would be interested in that... if not, what you still reading for :P

oh yeah, one more thing...
there isn't anything at all coming out that even comes close to Eve.
Roll on another year of Eve Domination!

I'm going to see the PS3 stuff in depth later on tonight when it's a bit quieter. The show is literally wall to wall with people and there is a 3 hour wait for the stand so I'll just do it when it's closed to the general public ;)

I did E3 last year when they had the "Black Mages" play was awe inspiring. Is Nintendo still the face of evil or have they revamped their marketing sceem. Also is it true that the X-BOX 360 will not have back play ability (I.E. not be able to play current x-box games)?

Actually, I watched a stream of the Microsoft conference, and they specifically stated X-BOX 360 will have back play ability...... and there was lots of clapping to be heard

Well i hope ou at R are working dam hard to save PS3 witha grandtheft game on release cus.
halo3 is aparently going to be launched same day as PS3, and you just know that with cgi quality graphic's and that cliff hanger of a ending from halo2 it's gona be huge.

I dunno, the ps3 looks like it's gonna rock hard. I watched the entire presentation and it looks like it'll be insanely powerful, and it has final fantasy XII coming out for it! OMFG!

Being a fan of Blizzard's diablo 1 and 2 (yeah, yeah. Come pod me ingame)
Any news from Flagship studios, how does Hellgate:London look? I've only seen some screenshots of it. Mostly interested in how multiplayer will work.

coming out nope there isn't.
but under devalopment, i heard startrek online project is all ready underway.
amd egosoft are jsut hinking but not doing anything about getting X universe to mmorpg.
they re so gadamn lazy though, even failed to release x3 on time.

Finix Jaeger> No clue about Hellgate:London, I saw the stand but never really looked any further than a quick look over someone's shoulder. It's hard to describe to someone who hasn't been to E3 just how much there is to see and how overwhelming the whole experience is, so I didn't get to see hardly any of it in depth... that comes later when checking out ign or eurogamer ;)

We announced the release of The Warriors (PS2), Bully (PS2), GTA: Liberty City Stories (PSP), Midnight Club 3 (PSP), GTA San Andreas (Xbox) all at the show.
No one apart from people with prior arrangment got in to see them, we had a massive floor space filled with coaches covered in the R* logo's and no-one was allowed in. Just the way it should be ;)
Funny pushing past all the fanboys to go and sit in the chilled buses stocked with booze.

There was a game coming out in the summer..canny mind who made it or if it was at the E3 show something gods...i honestly can;t remeber the name when i get hame al get it but it looks great...

I do have pictures but they are all in a massive format (my new 5.1 cybershot t7 camera rules).
I'll resize them at some point and bang them somewhere, currently I have a ton of stuff to sort out first.
