Is it possible to kill this thing in an Assault frig? I'm currently using a Harpy with 2 damage mods, and i've gotten it to 20% armour, but i can never seem to kill it, anyone managed to do this?

On a similar note, I'm wondering if anyone's been able to kill it with a Battlecruiser? I get it down to aroud 25% armor with my Ferox but I can't break it's tank. Pounded on it till the cruisers started respawning, then gave up and left

I don't know how those fight, but as I assume you use rails, and maybe the extra damage output from blasters could give you the needed edge of you can fight it up close?

Hey,
I've beaten it. We used a pulling tactic to clear that level. Ships invovled:
-Vigil -> euip with afterburner for pulling
-Proficy
-Ferox
-MOA
The tactic we used (and it worked great) was to jump in and get about 100KM away from the pack (remember not to target anything). Once setup, the vigil would jet in and get in range of the pack, target and fire a a cluster and then haul butt to the others. Once the ships were in range it was easy picking them off. When it comes to the BS, the vigil did the same tactic.. and since the bs thought it was the threat, it kept it targeted. Becarful not to get too close, cause it fires cruise missels and all it takes is 2 of them to pop the vigil. If you have a skilled pilot in the vigil, its easy cause all of the rats target him and the rest of the fleet can pick off all the ships (including the bs) without even having a shot fired at them.
That's what we did and it works great.

I've heard rumours that people have been able to kill it in a blaster-enyo, but I can't fly the things, so can't try myself. About a BC.. I've tried it ages ago in a Prophecy with crap skills and didn't manage it, but with tech 2 heavy pulse and a high level of the BC skill it could be possible.

I soloed it with an enyo, yeah. I ran out of ammo the first time, and had trouble breaking it's tank with no damage mods and 2 hardeners, so I had to switch to 2 damage mods to overcome it.

I soloed it with an Ishkur. It took a while to break it's tank but it went down eventually. I used 3 modal ion blasters, 2 mag stab II's, and 4 hammerhead drones.

It's not an AF but i did it yesterday in a Munnin - it was my second try, first one i couldn't break the tank because of ammo used.
start :[ 2005.05.20 23:15:02 ] (combat) Your 720mm Howitzer Artillery II places an excellent hit on Phi-Operation Protector, inflicting 171.8 damage.
end :[ 2005.05.20 23:16:12 ] (combat) Your 720mm Howitzer Artillery II barely scratches Phi-Operation Protector, causing 218.0 damage.
Thermal seem to be the lowest resist.

4/10 serpentis complex is prob the easyest money I've gotten.
I solo it all the time in a prophecy (BC) if you use good taktics this isn't a problem.
You never target anything that doesn't target you first, take the cruisers and frigs out in small groups, when you get to the mega and have finished ALL the others you get to 29 km from him, deploy your warrior drones (no other drones). Then when he starts shooting your drones he doesn't hit them at all, or it's very rare that he does kill them, then you just have fun killing it while the drones do the tanking :)
I've killed the mega alot of times and you don't need good gunnery skills for it, my gunnery skills where atm I was killing the mega under 500k so you see that you don't need to have uber gunnery for this.

I soloed it in my Retribution. I think I had 1 or 2 damage mods so I managed to take down the mega eventualy but it took me a half hour or so

I just soloed it 2 days ago in my cyclone. So yes I think if your a good pilot you should be able to do it in a HAC.
Took me an hour just to kill him though.
I realize now I had the wrong ammo type so should be pretty easy next time. Emp for shields Thermal for Armmor.

Went digging for my old thread :P
I did manage to kill it, but i litterally went through 8000 rounds of small antimatter ammo and a few hundred foxfire rockets to kill it, worth the cost though, Shadow Serpentis Thermic Hardener dropped from it

Completed it today with a brutix and a cyclone
jammed the bs using the brutix while killing off all the cruisers and frigs then killed the bs in about 15min pretty easy
cyclone setup 5 425mm autocannons 1heavy launcher 2rocket launchers L shield booster 2hards 1amp 1 dmg mod 3pdu's
Brutix setup 5ion blasters 2 125mm T2 2named gal racial jammers 2cap rechargers 1 med T2 armor rep 2 hards 2 relays
worked fine only had a overseers pack drop though

Randolph, I guess the light drones outrun his missiles?
And how fast does he move?
I've had two encounters with him so far, and have determined that he does exactly twice as much damage as I can tank in a Prophecy. Havn't been able to single him out without help of a friend.

What lvl missions is that?
I've never had any broblems in lvl 3's with my ferox.. So IF that is lvl 3 mission.. There seems to be tactic what is missing=)

It's a 4/10 Serpentis complex, a named 2.5m megathron is the boss.

You need to Theraml and Kinetic Tank. I found the shields are easy to take down just use EMP the Arrmor was a little harder for me, use Thermal damage for armmor.
Pay out for killing him 2.5 mil

Yeah hes a tough nut to *****, tried it in muninn first time using 650`s, didnt have the power to break his tank, switched to 425`ac`s and he didnt last long at all

I have done this complex 4 times in an Enyo. Its fitted with 4xIon II and a luncher with rockets. Only useing 1 damg mod.
For the whole complex i need 3000 rounds of Antimatter ammo and around 500 rockets.
But the BS has never dropped anything but the 8th Tier. Is it just bad luck or do i do something wrong?
Are the other lvl 4 complex harder then this one or is they all this "easy"?
