At least as important as Assault Ships, because as of right now, the EWAR frigs have practically no use. Their t1 equivalent cruiser would do in most cases. Anyone who finds an excuse to fly an EWAR frig is probably thinking "I really like these ships, I wish they were better so I can fly them more often."
Moreover, CCP has been promising to look at these for years. |

Reposted from the AF thread:
...the Electronic Attack Ships needs a look. They are the least flown ships in New Eden, for good reason: They dont have any viable defence.
They cant speed/sig tank like interceptors. They cant buffer/active tank like assault frigates. They cant cloak/range tank like stealth bombers. And they can be ******* annoying if left alone, so they will always be primaried. Complete the picture with a pricetag above 20 mill and you have a recipie for a perfectly useless shipclass. |

I was actually thinking about getting the Minmatar one to help move my freighter around, since it's the only frig with a web range bonus. Of course that kind of leaves out the "attack" part of their name. Fixing EAFs would essentially be adding brand new content to the game. I think it's probably a higher priority to fix stuff that people actually use, then fix EAFs when new content is needed. |

I'm not gonna advocate fixing EAFs before balancing supercaps
But I will make an observation. When you fix ships that people use, that always means nerfing them. I much prefer buffs to nerfs myself, as they can change a lot instead of just curb a particular FOTM. Look at what the buff to tracking mods did for Minmatar and Angel ships for example. |

What is actually broken? The game seems to be going along to me... when was it ever 'working' and now it's not. This kind of idea that the game is in urgent need of a fix is the same thing that got WiS cancelled. |

Agree with the op here. The rebalance best not miss any ships or it isn't quite the balancing act but a potential transfer of power ---- CONCORD arrested two n00bs yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off. |

Well I think few long term players - or CCP for that matter - is in disagreement on the matter of the rather urgent need for fixes to some aspects of the flying in space part of the game. Partly because earlier fixes have introduced new imbalances (the speednerf fixed "ridicolus speed" but hit especially gallente ships hard), and partly because features were poorly designed from the start (Factional warfare, Dominion sovreignty mechanics, supercaps). When bad design lives long enough it either dies because nobody uses it anymore, or it becomes gamebreaking.
In addition to that, there is always a need for fixes, rebalances, tweaks or what ever you want to call it, just to keep the game from becomming stale. Planned imbalances leads to new FOTMs and drives innovation. This is a good thing. |

I don't call tweaks an expansion, as much as a reiteration of old content and failed expansions which brought things like FW, which was left completely unfinished. Is ironically now what Incarna has become. From WiS and establishments to forgotten broom closets for the foreseeable future.
While you're 'tweaking' ships, as in rearranging some numbers and abandoning any hard work. Why not 'fix' EWAR frigs as well. Are they really that lazy? That fixing two types of t2 frigs would just be too much? |
