Hey guys,
So i'm part of a corp that mainly does mining, PvE and alliance wars but not so much on the PvPing. Although I have no intention on moving out to lets say RvB alliance, I still am craving for some PvP.
How do I reach someone for an arranged PvP in high sec perhaps with T2 assault ships? Is there some kind of small procedure that I should follow to easily find some? |

if you want to 'duel' in highsec your options are: - wardec another corp - steal a can and gain a suspect flag - shoot someone with a suspect or criminal flag
Just go to your local lowsec, you will find targets, if you find good ppl they might be willing to arrange a AF 1v1 Little Things to improve GëíGïüGëí-á| My Little Things posts |

Got it.
But when flipping a can, am I supposed to wait until he gets the first shot off me and only then can I answer back? |

Lol, wouldn't doing a PvP at a trade hub attract all the others into the fight as well?
I prefer to do a 1v1 in a more empty environment. I intend to do some recording

If you can leave your Corporation then Red Vs Blue (2 Corps War-Dec'd against each other with free and open entry.) will have what you are looking for. They have rules against dishonoring 1v1's at planets and 50-100 members online at a time. If not maybe try asking in the (R-V-B) chat channel about getting 1v1's. |

told you, a designated pvp area / zone would be helpful and it wouldn't hinder PvP but would encourage more to do it.

That was changed with the new Crime Watch System. You now get a suspect flag which is the equivalence of being -5 but the Navy doesn't shoot you. |

Logging in = consent. I think that's the idea.
After that it's just situation management.

Actually when you sign up for the account, that's when consent happens. One need not be logged in to be PvPed. |

If you want PvP just jump into low sec. Use the map set to show active pilots in system and pick an entry system with a low count and then look for systems with 3-5 people in them, there's a good chance you can get a fight out of someone there. This will require a higher skillset than simply flipping a can in high sec. Most notably you will need to learn how to use your d-scan, so if you don't know how, there are videos and guides that can help you. You will need to know what your ship(s) are capable of and what something on scan is likely to do to decide whether to engage or avoid it.
There are multiple survival techniques you can use to avoid fights and the fact there are no bubbles greatly simplifies things. With a little experience it's fairly easy to avoid fights you can't win. Always remember to fly only what you can afford to lose so you won't get angry if (by which I mean when) your ship dies and if all else fails just say "to hell with it" and go for it. Learn to treat ships you buy for PvP as living on borrowed time from your first undock and have no intention of keeping it forever and you'll have fun.
The best choice is rarely the intuitive one and only reading/watching guides and experience can tell you what to do in a given situation. If you feel like you are inescapably caught just fight as hard as you can manage, if you've got 10 hostiles on grid and you're scrammed and triple webbed in a battlecruiser you're not making the gate, just overload everything and go crazy while moving as fast as you can manage away from the enemy and try to clear tacklers as fast as you can, it's amazing how often weird things happen and you get to warp out in low armor or even structure. Always remember too that aggression flags are indiscriminate if you do fight in such a situation you're better to fly away from the gate, your enemy are probably sitting on it and they'll do less damage as you get farther away and if even if you did manage to clear scrams and webs and make the gate before dying aggression will still prevent your jump even if your enemy had to take gate guns to attack. You will just never be hit by gate guns in that situation.
Last but not least make a GTFO tab in your overview setting that just has any and all celestials on it and nothing else, if you're about to hit structure and you're reasonably sure you're about to die keep fighting the guys you have locked but just align and keep spamming warp to anything at all on that tab. Very rarely the hostiles will lose point and you will escape (happened to me more than once in deep structure) and if all else fails your pod will instawarp away when your ship explodes. Once you're off grid figure out where to go but for now you're in a pod right beside the guy who just killed your ship, ANYWHERE is better than where you are.
Best advice I can give you if you're looking to get started, enjoy. |

I should add with the gate gun changes in the last patch you will take gate guns for aggressing a ship within range of the guns assuming their security status is greater that -5.0 and are not a war target. Warping away will clear the gate gun aggression though and the same set of guns will not shoot you if you warp back.
Shooting pods will give you a criminal flagging which will cause all gate/station guns everywhere to shoot you for 15 minutes, jumping into high sec will also get you CONCORDED in that 15 minute window. If you want to avoid such a headache just don't aggress the pods and you'll be fine, not to mention you will find yourself locked out of high sec sooner rather than later if you start popping pods. Popping pods will also generate a kill right which people can use against you in high sec, popping ships in low sec is only a suspect flag and so will not generate a kill right.
This is how I started PvP in EVE at the end of your low sec roam just return to high sec and do PvE things to recover your sec status if you need. |
