Edited by: RedClaws on 21/05/2005 18:30:34 I took this picture in a gallentean station. Saw a tv screen in the background that was changing constantly in a loop, on one of the pictures was a text i was able to read.
Can you read it?

Play EVE -something something- Too bad you've got your settings down to a minimum, those textures make it pretty hard to read.

Somebody needs to take off the tinfoil hat. Subliminal messaging doesn't work like that.
Matter of fact, there's a lot of evidence that subliminal messaging just doesn't work at all. And those that are proponents of it generally claim that the images need to be flashed up in single frames of a moving image to encourage people to buy stuff.
Or is your mind so weak that seeing 'give me money give me money give me money' makes you want to ***** open your wallet?

Did a test in class with subliminal messages, showing a man attacking a woman with a knife, I saw someone cutting a cake. Now pitch me a sale!

So that's why EVE is so addictive. Oh and it's not subliminal btw.
subĀlimĀiĀnal ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sb-lm-nl) adj. Psychology 1. Below the threshold of conscious perception. Used of stimuli. 2. Inadequate to produce conscious awareness but able to evoke a response: subliminal propaganda

i think that would be classed as subliminal messaging... it flashes on briefly, and due to the size of the text you would only see it in the corner of you eye briefly. I wonder what was said between the devs when designing that...

Oh gee, people at CCP actually have a sense of humour. Another reason to whine on the forums then.

I've seen a very surprising documentary that proves it does work. In fact, the group of people it was tested 'against' were a bunch of advertising executives, the very group you'd expect to be most aware and immune to the effects subliminal advertising. They had to come up with a campaign to sell a giant bear.
After being locked away for two hours they revealed their final advertising campaign, and to their utter amazement everything they had 'thought-up' had been subliminally suggested to them before they were locked away. In fact the subliminal advertising only took place during the five minute drive from the tv production studio to the office where they were locked away. And all the subliminal ads were out on the street in public places.
But the question here is, which is more powerful? 'What you think?' or 'What you do?' And which part (your actions or your thoughts) does subliminal advertising have the greatest impact on?

Don't believe the hype
i saw a documentary that proves ESP and aliens are real
then i saw one that proved it's absolute, pure BS
you can't claim you saw something and bring it up in an discussion as "evidence" unless you say what it was, who made it, where you saw it, and (most importantly!!!) where others can go see it as well.

Just because i watched "Fight Club" doesn't mean i want to run out and act like Tyler/become a fan of Brad Pitt. And as far as i've heard - noone else has either ;>
That pic only clarifies what we've always known, CCP has humor ;> ________________________________________ <insert clever/witty comment here>
