I have a couple actually. I just started delving into Research, invention and manufacturing. I setup a medium POS in high sec so I have constant access to slots. I simply put on two Advanced Mobile labs and a corp hanger to start.
Questions:
1) When I enter a job there's a box "P.L.+". Is the the level I want to upgrade the research level to? 2) When i go to select research time efficiency it doesn't let me, it's grayed out. Why? 3) I have a providence BPO but it won;t let me Lock it down at a station. I can lock down others but the Providence one doesn't have the option when i right click. the only difference i see is the the Providence has a little '1' on the icon. Its definitely a BPO. 4) Refining Arrays: Are they worth the effort? You get an additional 25% efficiency but only one ore at a time and you have to wait, seems like a hassle. |

Father Void wrote:7834646) When i go to select research time efficiency it doesn't let me, it's grayed out. Why? I am not sure. I note you said you put Advanced Mobile Labs on your tower, and they have no PL slots. Could that be why?

A blueprint with a little number has never been unpackaged. You can unpackage the blueprint by trying to start a job from it. Just get to the quote stage and cancel it. Once a blueprint has been unpackaged, it can never be re-packaged or sold on the market, only through contracts. However, you cannot do anything useful with a packaged blueprint, so go ahead and unpackage it unless you plan to sell it.
Father Void wrote:7834648) Refining Arrays: Are they worth the effort? You get an additional 25% efficiency but only one ore at a time and you have to wait, seems like a hassle. No. Refining arrays are not worth it. (I don't think you are even able to anchor them in high sec.) Not only does it take time, but the arrays do not take the skill level of the pilot into account. So someone with minimal refining skills actually loses quite a bit of efficienty over an NPC station. The only time they are situationally useful is in wormholes, or very rarely in 0.0 space when you don't have access to a station nearby. Then you can get some minerals without hauling bulky ore. |

Thanks! So what houses PL slots? Manufacturing modules? |

So weird. Totally would think that the advanced labs would have them too. Well I guess that's EVE for you :D |

Refining arrays are only useful for Ice processing in low/null sec and for deep WH operations where you can't move the goods to high-sec to refine and are willing to take the 25% loss in materials hit. You can not reduce the waste with a POS refinery module. |

A small caldari tower can support 3 mobile labs. I ran 2 mobile labs and 1 hyasyoda mobile lab on a small POS for a long time before moving to a larger POS. |

Well yeah, but it is kind of odd that Advanced Labs have ML slots, but not PL slots, not that I'm complaining. One tends to be more valuable than the other. Day Trading? More like-áAll Day Trading... |

I should add that you can find TONS of public PL slots available in most areas of hisec. |

This, the only slots you'll have a hard time finding are copy and material research slots. Manufacturing, invention, and production efficiency slots are normally almost always open, especially in more so backwoods systems.
You can queue a job in a used slot but it will likely take a good month before your job will start.

Well the advanced lab does have 2 more slots to copy at a higher copy rate (0.65 AMBL vs 0.75 MBL). Which can be valuable when actually doing a lot of invention. |

I found this strange as well. Probably not at the top of the priority list for fixing though. -á"I am not young enough to know everything." - Oscar Wilde |

I'm bothered by the existence of faction Mobile laboratories. Where/how can I know that those anchorables exist? They aren't visible under "Variations" for Mobile Lab or Adv. Mobile Lab.
Where can I see a list of all the variant/faction anchorables that exist in the game?
