Im talking of the circular shaped icons that pops up when you hold the left mouse button over an object. Seriously, most gates, planets and fields makes it impossible to spin the camera around unless you press the button, jerk the mouse, release, repeat several times. Is there a way to disable this function (I've never used it intentionally as far as I can remember), or somehow bypass it?
Another related problem is having inappropiate menus showing up when right clicking almost anywhere in space near big objects. I don't wanna have to hunt around the screen to find a clear bit of space to get the menu with all the stargates, fields, stations and bookmarks in the system listed. Not sure how to fix that, but the popup icons mentioned in the first part of the post truly is fixable by letting us switch it off.

you can disable it by assigning the function to just the center button in the [escp] seetting screen within the game.

That doesn't work half the time RB. Personally, I still haven't got used to that delightful little present from Exodus. I wish we could just turn it off.

Edited by: Shima Tanaka on 25/05/2005 02:12:33 Maybe it depends on your system. If I could pin it to just the R button, or the middle button, or the shift click, then I personally wouldn't mind it. Usually it still comes up when I left click. The right click drop menu is still faster for me.
It gets stuck especially on gates, stations, and ships. For some reason, the gate interface can sometiems still occupy 80% of the screen even when I am turned completely around.

I put it on center, and its still just as annoying, cause the center button on my mouse is my Team Speak "Talk" key... so :\
you should beable to disable it.. or assign ANY key you want, not just the 2 options there.....

Oh, thanks, I was looking at the "shortcuts" for several minutes before checking the generic options screen to find it. It really helps alot, but it isn't the definitive solution I was hoping for. Leftclicking and hold over icons (the circles for planets, triangles for fields, boxes for ships etc) does nothing but stop you from moving the camera. On a brighter side, it is now possible to leftclick and hold over a ship and still be able to move the camera around. I no longer get stuck clicking on seemingly empty space that is actually still part of a jumpgate or a planet.
