Hello,
The signup referred to getting free ships - I barely made it in - ALSO there was a MEMO listed on the LOGIN screen - cant miss that really.
I never paid much attention to mmany things when I started cause I got 30 days to figure out if this game is worth paying a sub for and/or grinding 600mil ISK a month.
I would have to get in with the right corps etc, learn the game, check out lagg issues in major battles...there is a fun aspect here, but an all-out PVP in areas where I need to be to make it profitable for me to stay in the game may be a 'fun' issue I dont want to deal with; ARMA 3 is calling me !
I am not even a PVP'er and I signed up cause it is an opportunity; and to learn; for me I may be just trying to keep my attrition rate high and not die alot and play catch me if you can !
Thanks for the chat link.

No.
Damps, tracks, TPs etc are fine.

DISCLAIMER: This is a whine post. And sorry for possible bad English.
Hi. I contracted a container with more than 130000m3 of stuff to Amoux Ganthier. When I logged in for the event he gave me two containers, one was empty and the other one had only 6 Tormentors and 2 Tristans. I asked him about it and he said that one of the haulers mistakenly repackaged some containers, so my ships/modules were mixed with those of 2-3 other players. He looked at the contract and after some time he managed to give back to me more than half of my stuff, I asked if I could have back the missing things before the end of the event because I couldn't use a lot of my fittings without those specific modules, but he said he had no time. Actually, I could have used the free ships I signed up for (although I didn't like how they were fitted), I could have modified my fittings to use the ships with the modules I had or I could have used the few fittings for which I had all the exact equip, but I was very frustrated because I spent a lot of time thinking of the fits I would use for the event and getting the exact number of ships and modules I needed, everything should have been ready so that for once i could have had continuous fun in this game without bothering about preparations/roaming/etc, instead I was spending most of my time in game counting my modules and listing to Amoux Ganthier the stuff I was missing, so I decided to log off after just two fights in badly fitted ships and disregard the event. I had lots of fun in the first FFA and was really looking forward to this edition. Hope i can actually have fun the next time. |

I was there, I had fun, I think I would do it again. I will rate it 9/10.
I learned a lot about the performance of the post-tiericide frigates, and a little about ganking and loss. Sometimes I killed 3 people in a row, and sometimes I sank like a bag of assholes. Was displeased with how my destroyer was waxed when the carrier showed up; but other than that, If you weren't there, you should have been.
I think the Condor setup available could be improved. I'll recommend this. It is short range versus long range though. The magic is that the propulsion jamming mods cost very little cap, and the weapons cost none, so you can use the cap elsewhere.

I came. I sniped. I killed lots of folks. I lacked good bookmarks (and top belt got laggy as hell with so many wrecks.) I died several times. It was fun.
I hope the long-range damping whores (who were just there to get on killmails and contributed nothing to the fights) don't get any prizes. I don't think whoring mails is what this event should be about.
I didn't care for the bit at the end where everyone fleeted up and shot at Sully's target. It seemed incongruous with the theme of the event. Imo the kills after about 23:50 should be tossed.
The logistics were pretty godawful and I'd have been pissed if I'd contracted stuff over and not gotten it back at least half an hour before the event. Luckily I just hauled my **** to the hi-sec 2 jumps away and didn't have to deal with that.
Still, great event, 9/10. |

I share your sentiments, though I would rate it 7/10 overall. Aside from the logistics issues, there was a real problem with people not following the rules, especially later in the night. Station/gate fighting, podding, fleet fighting/boosting, etc. all took away from the spirit of the event. I got podded at around 23:00 with still about 50 ships in the station that I would've loved to give out to folks who were still asking for more ships in local, but by the time I flew back from Metropolis, the thing would be over.
I have some ideas of how to improve this kind of thing, which I'll post separately. Was a good time overall, and glad I participated, but I wouldn't do it again without some changes.
Cheers! |

Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Event was much bigger than the first round, but didnt lose anything in that.
Plenty of folks on comms, lots of fun and games with the "efamous" chasing each other around and so on.
Biggest + of the night for me - all the eager newbies who came along and really got into it. Great to see folks not being ascurred of PVP. Mangala is not FC, yet another randomly updated EVE blog.

Glad most people had a great time. I spent most of the evening handing out ships and then occasionally going nuts in a t1 fit frigate when my eyes went too googly from clicking trade windows:)
I think we achieved the aim of getting lots of newer players shooting stuff so it counts as a success but to those of you who are complaining about "rules" being broken and suchlike I have to say that we were in lowsec - there are no rules but what you enforce. We can advise rules for the event (and the vast majority went with them) but this is eve and you will always have people who will pod etc. The solution is not to complain to us (especially since we were pretty busy fitting and handing out thousands of frigs) but to shoot the buggers - everyone was in an armed ship and on comms so all you need to do is primary the podders then carry on.
This event may have given you a slightly rosy view of lowsec, we are all ebil flashy pirates and under any other circumstances will kill and pod anything we come across.
For the record we did have a few ships flying about blapping those we thought were ganging up or repeatedly podding people but there's only so much we can do. The best lesson to learn is once your ship pops to warp out quickly - if you do this then its actually pretty hard to loose a pod in lowsec (although I keep managing it).
Last of all remember - if you enjoyed the fighting then come back to visit us again. Bring guns:) |

I anticipated that there'd be some of this. I transfered my clone and small stack of ships to the nearest medical facility I could find - three hops out. I transported a LOT of modules in to the target system itself. When I got popped in-system, my next hull was a fanged n00bship. If I got podded, I came back in a T1-fit Rifter. After blowing up in about 45M ISK worth of Rifters and Reapers (you need a LOT of Reapers to get that high!), I'd had enough fun. And it WAS fun. :)

Pretty much this. ^
Look through the forums and you'll find references to some 'shoot the dreadnought' or some such kind of event, where TEST and a few others showed up and pretty much pooped in the punchbowl. Frankly, I was anticipating that there'd be much of the same, this time - Didn't care, came prepapred.
About half my losses came from dessy gangs. Clearly, I'm not going to be able to compete on that level... Not with 9M SP and a T1-fit Rifter. So - I set about learning how to duck 'em, instead. Got pretty good at it, too. After that, my losses came when I had stopped to set my teeth into somone - You're a lot more vulrnerable when you're target-focused. Or, at least - I am.
WILL be back - Guns hot.

Once again, I apologise for this. As I explained, due to the combination of high volume & high value, we had to outsource moving the pre-contracted containers of ships to Red Frog, who unfortunately accidently repackaged one of the contracts by accident. If we had not outsourced, we would have been looking at doing 15+ Freighter trips, which each take 40 jumps. Assuming 3 minutes per system (which is pretty generous given how slow Freighters are), that's 30 hours of hauling which is simply unacceptable. This courier contract was the only one that we had a problem with and we will reimburse people affected.
ALUCARD 1208 wrote:got really exited about this event warped in to belt in a frig and started fighting a slasher then a tuskers vigilant landed and blapped me bit ****** wen u dont stick to ur rules tbh so im out
Learn to read, the rules clearly state that this was a Free-For-All event, if you and your corpmates decide to team up, we will be forced to "police" you. Yours was not the only gang we broke up.

I deliberately made the Condors long range so that people could experience different playing styles. Also, note that we were under restrictions which are not normally in effect for PvP - trying to source 250+ energy neuts is really, really difficult - there's just not enough in Jita.

Your feedback is appreciated but please try moving 17,000,000m3 of fitted containers/modules/ships before stating that the logistics were poor. Also keep in mind that we are a PvP corp and are not the best at logistics. The "shoot at what Sulei says" I came up with on the spot and thought it would be quite funny. If you didn't enjoy it, tough.

There were a few organised fleets out, but I think we got most of them (the SP-DR & FIGL gangs got driven off a few times, and we eliminated that AF gang). Which ones did we miss?
There were no boosting alts out in space beyond ours which we were using for our defence fleet. Did you see any other boosting alts (we had 2 Lokis if that helps....)
As Johny stated, we can try to reduce the amount of station/gate fighting & podkilling, but at the end of the day it's low sec and if people want to do it, they can. We did set up counter-camps on the stations & patrolled belts/gates looking for gangs & campers, not sure what else we could do with the amount of intel we had.
Thanks for the feedback guys, remember to post killmails at http://tuskersffa.rvbganked.co.uk/ |

I had a great time. Lost. A ton of (mostly free) ships, and killed a bunch as well. Thank you very much for putting on the event, the logistics must have been a nightmare and providing me with lots of ships to lose. My only regret is that I didn't transport more of my ships to the system, when I fancied a change from t1 it was a bit of a slog to get one, but hey ho, one lives and learns. I was therefor the whole 6 hours and filmed quite a few fights, will knock together some kind of a compilation when I have a free minute, and my hand recovers from all the clicking last night. :D |
