Hey guys I'm looking to buy a new Amarr Char for flying fun stuffs like Paladin's and Abso's but I was wondering with the new Hybrid Buff if I should wait and see how it goes and then decide if I still want an Amarr char
Or if you think it's gonna be good and just buy a gallente char now and wait till winter and hope it's a good buff

Well because with my budget (10b or so) it would take a while to cross train from Amarr to a char I could buy now. Plus Amarr/Gallente don't have any Pirate Ships so

If you buy a well specced amarr char for 10b, you're only the hybrid and racial ship skill away from flying a proper gallente fit, almost everything else is reused. It doesn't take long to train for that... |

Kinda, but something we need to learn to live with since otherwise ebay/RMT will take over. And paying with ISK does not destroy the economy in EvE like paying with AUR/$$/Gé¼Gé¼ would.

You do realize that paying with ISK is the exact same thing as paying with any other method, right?
Real money converts to GTC which converts to PLEX which converts to ISK, AUR or Game Time. They're literally the exact same thing with one or more steps involved to their creation and none of them have the ability to destroy the economy. |

You are wrong!
Paying with $$ creates stuff out of thin air. That is why it destroys the economy of EvE.
Paying with ISK means that those ISK has to be earned through playing the game (e.g. buying ships built by an industrialist player out of minerals mined by a miner, hauled by a hauler alt, and then go shooting at pirates consuming ammo/crystals and selling loot on the EvE market, die, whine and ... yeah I think you got the drill) and this creates gameplay content for you and me in this sandbox.
Selling a GTC for ISK on the market only means that you pay the game time for a player who was smart enough to get the ISK by playing the game. It is not like CCP created the ISK out of thin air and gave it to you. |

Why would a hybrid buff matter if you like Amarr? Its not like the hybrid buff is going to make Amarr worse.
Also cross training doesn't take much time at all. Since you should already have a lot of the main core skills. |

I play this game exclusively with my my own money by purchasing GTC's and converting them to PLEX and then into ISK on the Eve market. This in no way is breaking the game. CCP creates GTC out of thin air anytime you ask them to by giving them your money. There is almost no difference between doing this and paying some Russian bot slightly less cash for slightly more ISK than the GTC > PLEX > ISK conversion allows. It's the exact same thing with the only difference being who gets my money and one being a violation of the EULA. PLEX and GTC's are created magically out of thin air all the time and this hasn't broken the economy.

That's exactly what CCP does anytime I give them my money and they create a GTC or PLEX for me to convert into ISK. The GTC or PLEX did not exist in the Eve economy until I gave CCP my money. CCP created the GTC/PLEX out of thin air in exchange for my money. This isn't rocket science... |

GTC/PLEX isn't a "thing", the "thing" is the game time, PLEX is just a symbol of that. The "thing" that has the value that's traded on the market is the game time.
So: what sense does it make to say that CCP creates game time out of thin air?

With GTCs, CCP gives you the official means to buy the ISK that the alliance bots have stockpiled. That is when they're not selling it to third party RMTers.
As for the OP, you can't go wrong with Amarr and as others have said, it's a fairly quick and painless cross train. Core skills are the same for both.

You are not a rocket scientist...
I bolded the part you don't understand. You don't "convert" a PLEX to ISK - that would create ISK out of thin air and in the end ruin the EVE economy. You sell your PLEX on the market to a player that pays with ISK generated in the economy of EvE.
There is a difference and it is important.
