Hosokawa Inc. has procured a grand total of five PE skill books. One of them we used, and another has been sold, but YOU can bid on them at Eveauction.com in the misc catagory.

Wake up! It ask for a User id and password but it in no way suggests or implies that you have to use your Eve user id and password. There is a little 'New User' link on the home page also. Do a little thinking and investigating before condemning something. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

After this patch, I think they are on the market now for much less than you are trying to gouge people for.

eveauction site DOES read your EVE account information, you must activate your account IN GAME, and set eveauction.com to trusted site. And it reads ALL YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION. TAKE YOUR OWN RISK THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY.

Things EVEAuction reads are stuff like:
Character name Corp Rank within corp
Your EVE userid and password are NOT sent.
The only thing a "trusted" site can do is use serverlogs to create memberlists of corps, not much else.
Why don't you go read the fscking documentation for the EVE browser headers (EVE-I has some good docs on this) before you start spouting uninformed FUD?

BSOD, you sounds like a programmer from CCP? You see the code? You know how it works? I guess NOT.Trusted site WILL create a backdoor in normal sense. I don't care who go in the backdoor, Take your own risk is all i can say. BTW, Don't use fscking or FUD, that makes you an idiot.

Dragon, take that alfoil hat off and listen to reality.
A "trusted" site is simply a tag that informs the EVE ingame browser to include certain POST fields whenever it makes requests to that server. These fields include some information pertaining to your character:
- Character name - Character corporation - Character solarsystem/constellation/region - Currently docked station - Security (corp security) access permissions for that station, if a corp office is present at that station, and you are docked.
That's it. No more, no less. Your EVE account information is NOT, I repeat for the hard of reading, NOT included.
Have I read the code? YES! Have I tried this myself? YES! I have read and checked every single goddamn byte that comes out of the EVE minibrowser to a "trusted" site, and there is NO account information transferred with it.
Continue being paranoid if you will, but for the love of God, stop sprouting disinformation when you have no idea what you are talking about.

all hail Darkwolf, for he is all knowing, and a wolf... :)
I think this problem of people not understanding what a trusted site is, is alot more widespread then it seems, as eveauction.com is getting almost no usage anymore ;(

I wouldn't consider it gouging considering their availability at the time.
My PE5 literally saves millions of isk while producing.
But now the market has changed. Oh joy. I wonder if those polaris people gave us those skill books and then walked off and laughed because they knew they were going to hit the market in a week?

FYI, Polaris did not give us the PE Skill packs, the Gallente Federation did, after we completed our "assiginment" for them, and these were given to us as a "reward" for completing this assignment.
Polaris simply wouldnt give out anything. and no whining was involved, nothing of the sort.
