Enyo and Harp contest for #1 spot, I think. Harp is a long range hell, but can't tank and tackle, which kinda sucks for an anti-frigate ship.
Enyo has the 2 midslot problem, but just a web is usually enough to shred a frig before it can align. That tracking bonus also helps a lot, whereas the Harp's double range bonus isn't that helful imo.
However, for pure DoT please take a look at the ishkur. Has 3 midslot, so it can tackle anything. It can field up to 10 light drones (let's be realistic and say 8 or 9) which greatly improves your DoT especially considering that you obviously take EM and EXP drones and do all 4 damage types. On top of that light drones are great FoF decoy and leave nothing of frigates and even t1 cruisers.
Heck, I gave a Muninn a hard time in an Enyo once.
For PvP, Ishkur all the way. For gank squads and PvE, take a Harp or Enyo. ------------------------------------------------------- "Do you really think that's air you're breathing?" |

Actually thinking I may revisit the Ishkur.. Just looking that over and the ishkur is going to be harder to jam as well with that high sensor strength... Think you may be right on this...

They are also overlooked quite a bit, which is a good thing for me

A Retributon can do 150 - 170 dps with a better/sustained tank. Need reallu good skills. But it can run 2 small armor rep II, hardner, and a full rack of pulse lasers. Can tank harpy/harpys all day long.
BUT!!! The problem is they can't hold their targets, or dictate range really. A retribution can keep ships from webbing or scrambling it (20km range on guns), and can even tank a solo battleship, sometimes sustained, other times for many minutes. But... it can't holds it targets. Needs to fly with tacklers.
Edit: forgot, from experiance I have founds a Rets tank holds while being heavy nos'd by a tempest...

150-170DPS while tanked? Not even close. You'll be doing around 100-115.

Ive been flying the ennyo. Got a tank and a gank setup. 2 Mag stabs II and some 125 II's are a mean combo.
However, I recently lost one to an ishkur. One hell of a fight. He popped me when he was at 28% struct. This has made me think about taking my ishkur out for a stroll. His was setup with Ion II's and nos. I dont know if i'd go for the blasters but its worth a try.

I am actually going to be buying anther ishkur based on this thread to play around with..
After working with my ishtar and having had a couple Deimos (and preferring the ishtar) I think it is time to revist the Ishkur...

honestly what you want to do is find some guys who also fly AF's and use Harpies to long range snipe,Wolfs for short to mid range combat and enyos to coup de'gras your enemy. I swear between all three ships damage outputs, the wolf will most likely break the enemies tank while Harpy applies constant pressure on him, then after that send the enyo in to slice up his structure, it won't take long trust me I have been on the recieving end of this 3 punch combo and it HURTS!!! The Enyo is the best all around performance Assault Frigate (not that it won't be effortlessly swatted by a larger hull type). After missiles changes though, several HACs and AFs are going to deserve a reevaluation. The Amarr AFs are just going to suck even more however (Except they'll last 1.3 seconds longer against anywhere within sight of larger hull types because they'll need a full volley of torps rather than just a partial volley).
I wish I had something in EVE to worry about besides the idiotic morass of ship balancing.

That fight was bloody great, I was on TS at the time when my corpmate told me you had popped his stilleto, and i'm pretty lucky i only landed 10km from you when i warped in. I was giving a running commentry on TS while i was fighting you.
"Damn he's tanked to hell, ah wait, i can take him. wtf, lots of damage, arg, he's got half armour again! I'm gonna die! No wait, I'm killing him, CRAP structure! etc" it was pretty funny.
Basically, your setup is perfectly fine, you were just unlucky I came out of warp where i did, had you been able to keep range I would have either died or warped out. 2 of my low slots were pretty damn useless in that fight though (Passive Explosive and PDU) neither of which actually factored into that fight imo

Enyo; hands down IMHO.
harpies suck without the gistii mods, and an enyo can kill it if you use that missle slot to break its tank thats if it aint using gistii stuff. -------------------------------------------------------- "I wana get down on my knee's and start pleasin' Jesus, i wana feel his salvation all over my face." - Eric Cartman, South Park |

Does anyone think the viability of the Hawk will go up with the upcoming missile overhaul?

I've killed Harpy's and Enyo's on the test server with the current missile changes. It won't make too much of a difference

Then is the Hawk simply underrated to begin with? Obviously you lose some dps, as you're essentially trading in two turrets for another launcher. But the ability to choose your damage types via missiles seems very appealing, and perhaps might even counteract the lose in dps by an increase in "efficiency"? I'm completely torn between the Hawk and the Harpy atm.

enyo is a better ganker then the other afs but in all honesty with the way things are turning out these days you want to do mixed inty and af gangs like I recommended you do so you can maximise ur combat effectiveness.i would like to do a test to see how long a gang of af and intys would last against a raven post over haul would be intresting.
say 2 maledictions,a enyo,a harpy and a wolf

Following up on this thread... got an ishkur and flew it back home from empire:
the ishkur with a vampire setup turns any other frig into a quivering capless mass swarmed by drones...
It is a little slower on the kill than an enyo, but even |

I don't think any of the AF's can be said to be "the best" but I find my Ishkur and my Harpy to be very versatile and seem capable of covering the most situations.
