tl;dr train those IV's to V's if you're in it for the long haul. the rest of this post is just context to explain why I feel that way, and defend training to V. nevermind it, though, if you're set on stopping at IV.
I wonder if your goal is the same as mine: a perfect everything subcap pilot somewhere around 120m sp. I'm at 50m sp, min/maxed for drones then intel/mem. then spaceship command, then lastly gunnery and missiles.
this is purely aesthetics, but I don't like the look of IV's. instead of doing the "to IV" thing, I decided which ones I wanted to V *first* and did a pass to V in them--leaving the rest for this next remap after drones. then, with some exceptions, i trained the most general skills first and will slowly make my way to gunnery and missile specializations.
with the exception of drones, I will have min/maxed each type twice.

some context:
I log for something to do, b/c 90% of my time is idle. I'm a full-time college student now. I log whenever, casually mission, bleh. I have two or three ships that I enjoy and have maxed in, while I train everything else. I don't PVP, mainly because I don't know how I'd fund it, and also because I don't like being pulled away from my long-term skill plan, and though I enjoy EVE it's not high enough a priority to adjust my schedule (when other people depend on me). I like my shinies and my characters will be my ultimate shinies I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them once they're at that 120mil sp perfect subcap mark (in terms of having an active training character on the account.) maybe gank alts, alts to take standings hits, dunno. I run five accounts on five screens in my own little fleet. the passive training is a huge selling point for me, and with a few exceptions, I don't like breaking from my long-term plan.
I'm training for a perfect sleipnir atm, because I think that's the next ship that I would like to use for this character's 'ship stasis'.
going back and doing V's is maybe not your thing, but if it seemed like it would be, that's all I could suggest. thing is, you're going to cap out soon after 100mil sp on subcap skills if you train to IV's. then you'll be at this point again, and training to V will again be an option. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Buckingham Buckingham is my Vanilla Sky ||-áVincent Athena, I made something for you: http://i.imgur.com/hrxcc.jpg |
