Having read through some of the ship setups I've noticed that some prefer to put small guns or even the "wrong" guns on cruisers and other ships. These are people that are far from inexperienced players and include some well known and respected names. Wit |

Add to your list of stuff to try (if you have the skills to), T2 650mm Arts (6x) on a Prophecy. Makes for a heck of a projectile platform.

It's something that works quite well on amarr ships, simply because only 2 tech 1 amarrian ships have any gun bonus that's not the -10% cap use, and that's the omen (pointless cause of crappy grid) and the geddon (nuff said).

One thing to consider is that some ships don't get a bonus for their guns so you're better off using whatever you have good skills for. The caldari blackbird gets NO weapon bonus so if you've got good laser skills you might be more effective with them. It |

I don't tend to fly amarr ships so I never noticed that they tend to get a cap bonus rather than a damage bonus. The implication is that they do enough damage without ships needing a damage bonus to boost them. From my limited comparisons there seems to be something to this.
Personally I really didn't think projectiles would work on a ship which didn't give a ROF bonus for them but this will be worth a look. I get good results from my thrasher even with the -25% ROF penalty but then the damage bonus does make up for it to a huge degree. Worth a go anyway.
One other thing I did notice is that I can change crystals in about a second (i'm really not sad enough to time it) while it takes 10 seconds to change other ammo and missiles. What's the reasoning behind this?

actually most t1 amarr ships do bad damage.
pulse/beam do dps lower to that of blaster/rail, which is why balancing pulse/blaster basing it on retribution and enyo was a farce. tech 1 amarr ships were mostly useless in pvp before as far as damage went, bar a few exeptions, and now theyre bloody useless, barring the same few exeptions.
and the dps of the fearsome and apparently incredibly overpowered armageddon hasnt changed, so the balancing has failed its primary aim.
not to mention small/medium beams have ludicrous fitting requirements.
1 frigate with more than 2 midslots and bloody slow. the only cruiser with a damage bonus (omen) has powergrid so gimped its always outdamaged by the maller anyway. the arbitrator only does well as anti-frigate becasue of good tank, launcher slot and drones. yeah, go lack of damage bonuses. -------------

I know someone that put Dual 250mms on a Brutix and started popping frigs during a war from 70kms
I general, that would be considered the wrong guns gone horriably right.
