Tesk Malloc	Posted - 2005.06.14 23:58:00 - [1] ...used to happen all the time, now I see Celestial Apocalypse pilots flying side by side with VOTF, their (supposedly) sworn enemies for reasons of piracy, CA activities, yadda, yadda, yadda, etc. etc. etc. Not trying to incite anything or flame, just wondering the reason for their change of heart. Are VOTF no longer the fearsome baddies they used to be or have Celest finally seen the light and realised that killing indiscrimately and siding with villians is actually a load of fun? Tesk Malloc	Posted - 2005.06.15 00:16:00 - [5] Yeah, all valid reasons, its just Celest used to be the "good guys" in my eyes, Not exactly RP'ing the role but taking the moral high ground whilst doing good deeds like attacking "pirates" (I use the term loosely) and other baddies like Curse Alliance (May it R.I.P. ) Just wondering how they view themselves now and if the current political/power climate has forced them to make a difficult choice in allies or if they just want to kill stuff like the rest of us do? Lorth	Posted - 2005.06.15 00:19:00 - [6] Well I know theres been a lot of smack between our two corps over the last few weeks, but please don't think what I'm about to type is a smack, or flames in anyway. But the thread will eventually degrade into that anyways.... Celest, seem to have went from the guys in the white hats. Killing off the baddies, and pirates, and doing so effectivly by them selves. Though you hostile to me (and admittidly justifyed in doing so), they were the good guys, who attacked the evil's of the world etc etc... Now I see what used to be a corp dealing good vs evil, and the betterment of the common man, lossing its edge that made it special. The war with stain, allieing with IMP (everything aside, I think both sides can admit that both of us deserve a KOS from celest.) Celest seems to have went from a black and white corp, and slipped into a dark shade of grey. The promises of allience haulers in empire, seems to have pulled even the mighty celest towards the dark side. Not that I really have anything wrong with how you set your standings, your free to do what you want. But it does seem that you've lost the squeeky clean good guy attitude and image that made you guys, a differant and cool corp amounst the hordes of pvp'rs. Again not a flame, though I'm sure many will take it as such. Fly safe (errm maybe not ;) ) and may we have plenty of fun fights.

And for those who are really curious, I made Ender change the standings cuz after two years of fighting them, I just couldn't bring myself to do it! In all seriousness, IMP are great allies and both CELES and F-E set aside differences to make this relationship work. SA arent the "bad guys" they are an alliance and were not nearly as pirate-esque as MANY other corporations and alliances. Why are bring this up again? Fact of the matter is that both sides made decistions the others didn't like. Fact of the matter is we could get into a long debate about who began to fly with the others enemys yada yada yada. We never expected VOTF to ask our permision to set its own standings regardless of how we felt, why did you expect supremacy to ask yours? Why does this still burn you up, it happend and its done. Both sides did what they felt was nessasary for the betterment of thier corp, and not for what they though would make the other happy. And I don't begrudge VOTF/IMP for doing so.

Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with what they do now, each to their own etc... but it would have been nice if at least one of the old pirate hunting and 'noble' corps had held true to their ideals. Darth has often enough commented (i.e. more than once!) on BNC losing their way when we joined BoB and set m0o to +ve and I respect his opinion, this is just mine. P.S. We just wanna PVP and have fun these days without any political crap. We still shoot whoever we think are "bad" and team up with anyone with think is "good" We dont really post on the forums anymore as they are pretty boring. We arent pirates just PVPs with a cause. Good - honourble pilots who dont talk smack in local or forums eg VOTF, Red Alliance. Bad - Shooting at us for no reason, or smack talking in local eg stain, 5 etc. VOTF in the old days used to be one of our main enemies and we used to smack each other on the forums. I guess we got grudging respect for each other on the battlefield and having flown with them our attitutes have changed. They are honourable, well organised and fun to fly with. End of story.
