I don't know how many times during a playing session that I'm reading or posting that I alt-tab back to the game and find my ship just chillin' by a gate because autopilot turned off or the game thought I jumped. It's that or I reached my destination and I'm sitting there. I could stop reading the forums but where is the fun in that? So I'll take the loss.
How many other people had their hull fill up or found themselves floating in space because of the forums?

I like things organized. Plus you can't play Morrowind and EVE at the same time.

Why would you EVER want to play something other than Eve???!!! :)
I don't even have morrowind, and I don't want it. :P The NPCs are ***... (literally!)

The solution: two monitors. I keep my Messenger/IRC and browser on one screen and use the other to log in and check skills or monitor Help Channel (usually incog.)

I have two monitors, one for eve, and one for irc/winamp/IM's/etc. Didn't stop me walking into Tank without noticing though.

Use alt+enter instead of alt+tab. ;)
I see no reason to play EVE in fullscreen. I'm currently on a 55 jump trip, with EVE windowed (1024x768, res. 1280x960), using mozilla firebird/winamp on top of it. |

I have an LCD that's native res is 1024x768. I'd run in higher res if I could. Buy me a 1600x1200 flat panel :-)

back to the AP issue... Happens to me ALL the time, fsking thing.
We dont even call it AP anymore, its wibblypilot or manualpilot or notpilot or hissyfit pilot.
I think it is caused by people scanning you with passive scanners. I may be wrong, but there are always other players about when it turns off.

I play Eve windowed, so reading forums and playing at the same time isn't too much of a problem. It is irritating to babysit "autopilot", but then again, I'm not one to cruise along without paying attention to who is around. If I want to afk or ignore Eve, I'll stay docked.
