I was hoping that I could get some advice as to how to best setup a Scorpian to run lvl 4 missions? Currently, Her is my setup.
4 seige launchers ( will be nerfed soon i know ) 2 350mm Rail guns,
100 afterburner, targeting computer, xl sheild booster, 4 named sheild hardners for each dmg type.
2 pdu II's, missle dmg mod, and a rail gun dmg mod.
I tried a lvl 4 mission and just about got my ass handed to me.
I dont have a lot of cash to buy much tech 2. I have about 14 million credits atm. Any help would be appriciated.

The Deadspace missions will be harder! I can use a scorp for no DS with more or less the same setup, If you against the gurista then use 2 therm and 2 kin hardeners you will last quite a while with that.

I prefer 3 Kinetic, 1 Thermal personally as Guristas all seem to use Kinetic Missiles. ---------------------------

Best advice would be to change the hardners and torps/missiles to suit whatever NPC is coming up in your mission. Though you may still struggle to get the damage output for some of the missions in a scorpion. They who shout the loudest normally have the least to say. |

Edited by: Taxon on 17/06/2005 12:44:40 I think you're going to have a hard time doing lvl 4 missions in a Scorp. It's challenging for most people to solo them in a Raven, even. You're just not going to have the damage output to take out a lot of the bigger spawns.
Nevertheless, I'd suggest:
HI: 4 x Siege, 1 Heavy Nos, 1 Nothing (or 1 350mm Rail) MID: 100 AB, C5 XL or T2 XL booster, Boost Amp, 2 x T2/Named Cap Charger, 3 x Named Hardeners LOW: 3 x PDU2, 1 BCS

Edited by: James Hargreaves on 17/06/2005 20:49:57 Your not going to get anything done in level 4 deadspace missions with a scorp. Killing something like a strain drone parasite or whatever those dominix looking drones are would be impossible, you just don't have the dps. I don't think you could kill the 1.250 ravens or the 1.750 ravens either. (talking gurstas) I'd try to run missions with a corpmate who will split things with you evenly or just try to bide time and decline all the deadspace missions and see if you can keep enough agent standing by just running real space missions. You only need to get one 15k lp offer for a +3 implant, sell it on the market along with your scorp, and then upgrade to a raven.
My setup would be: High: 4x siege, 2x 425 "scouts" or better Med: 2x Large (not xl) tech 2 boosters, 2x cap rechargers, (tech 2 if possible) 4x hardeners. Low: 2x pds II (why does everyone called them power diagnostic units? they are power diagnostic systems...) and 2x ballistic controls, possibly sacrificing for reactor control units to fit 425's.
The 350's don't do near enough damage to warrent a damage mod, or a tracking mod. Kill the frigs and cruisers with torps and then just kick on the rails for extra DPS against the battleship rats.
Use a MWD+warp stabs for travelling to other systems and just refit when you get there. This will save time and prevent you from getting ganked in a low sec system.

Lets be serious...ditch the scorp.
Yes you can manage some of the gimpy l4 missions, but frankly go invest in a Raven (pre-patch) or Apoc (post-missile-patch) if your seriously going to do l4 missions.
Sorry about that, but it's realistic.
