Can someone give me a list of good mining cruisers from best to worse (in your opinion). I'm looking into getting one, but I'm not sure whats good for the job.

vexor/omen are my favorite though thorax can have 5 laser, however, thorax's cargo is too small, need your full attention to move ores from ship to container.... that's no fun, sometimes will cause trouble too.

How about stabber? Seen a lot of people mining iwth it fast few days. How much does Omen and Vexor go in the market?
BTW, I plan to mine with an industial friend, so cargo isn't priority.

Omen and Vexor you can pick up for 4-5mil depending on how far you are willing to travel. These two are good if you want to have the option of solo mining.
Thoraxes for 7-8mil. Awesome for group mining operations, especially if you can get 5 Cu vapors and get 5-10 Harvesters running :)

cargo is something important when your mining ability exceed your cargo... lol, that's the problem with thorax, so I won't recommand it :p
omen/vexor are both worth about 4-5m atm depend on your location.
stabber only has 100 drone bay, that's only 1 harvestor or 2 elite mining drone.
vexor has 1200 drone bay, so it's big enough to hold 10 harvestor
omen only has 300, but I think there's many people only has drone lv3 anyway, and if you use elite mining drone, that's 6, good enough for most people in my opinion. plus with 5 low slots, even if you only fit basic cargo expander, that's about 917 cargo space, good for watching some tv :p

If you got a Thorax with five mining lasers (the best kind) and some Harvester drones, which the Thorax can easily fit five, you will mine faster than you can keep dragging your ore to a canister.
You drop a cannister first with some useless pirate loot as a "seed", then open it up, then keep dragging the ore from your hold to the cannister. Your friend must then keep dragging the ore from the cannister to his/her cargo hold.
Any level 3 cruiser that you can equip with five mining lasers will do. Having drones space for Harvester drones would be a bonus.
You will probably be mining so fast, it might be a good idea to bring other friendds with indies to come along since you will probably fill up an indy faster before another one can arrive to pick up the ore.
It can get annoying quickly.

thing is, I don't have much money, about 3.5 million now, so is it better to get a cheaper cruiser and use it for mining till i can get a beter cruiser, or get a good cruiser directly

I use a vexor for mining into a can.
I have 4 CU Vapors, 3 Lif AB's and 4 PHC cargo expanders. It has a cargo of 1142 and takes 4-5 minutes to fill.
This way I am not having to eject/drag the ore from my hold to the can every 30 seconds, so can chat and trade at he same time.
The downside of this rig is the cost:
I paid roughly 1 mill per vapor, 2.25 mill per PHC and 750K per lif plus 4.5 mill for the vexor. That's roughly 15 mill. all in.
But I like it :)

Well i just want to know about the ship itself. Pretend that they will all user Miner 1's. What will be the most effiecient? And does anyone think its better to save for a good cruiser or buy a lower quality cruiser and save up from there.

You can also do the mine into a can trick with five lasers using a Maller. But you can't be as quicker if the Omen has harvester drones (not much of a difference though).
If you're not into drones, Maller or Thorax should do the trick.

hmmm it's a big risk to put all your eggs in 1 basket. Don't spend all you money on 1 ship if for whatever reason you lose it..your F'kd
IMO the best way to mine is get an indi with expanders go to a 1.0 system start your 1 miner up .....then go to bed :P you'll be full in the morning and you didn't have to sit there mining all day :)
While youre on do trade runs or kill pirates both are a better way of making money.

I love the Bellicose for mining. Nice all round ship with plenty of drone capacity. Might not be the best but it is good value.

yeah afk mining in bestwoer with 9k cargo hold is fine takes ages to fill with one Good mining laser but gives u time to do real life stuff hehe.

The thorax has the edge, but... costs a fair bit more than a vexor.
I make 750K per hour mining scordite in my vexor and selling minerals for ful npc price.
That's without mining drones, 'cause the bloody things keep running away, then ignoring me.
I would recomend saving another 500K to 1 mill and getting the Vexor.

Personally I think the larger bays are important. I use an omen and it's great - 4 mining lasers and up to 3 harvesters or 6 elites is a right old roid muncher. Thorax is good but you must be attentive, the near double (base - probably more expanded ) cargo bay on the omen is filled in in a little over 2 cycles with 2 XeCl, 1 miner1, 1 Vapor and 2 harvesters for me atm. When I replace the miner1 and add another harvester or two standards I bet it will be two cycles ( that's NOT a fully expanded hold btw ).
Therefore I bet with a really well skilled miner the thorax would struggle because you'd keep filling the hold. That therefore makes the best two the Vexor and Omen.
There are other very good miners though worth considering, especially if your looking at a race away from your default - i.e. more training. Those are the Exequer, Arbitrator ( only 3 beams but if your drone skills are stron will hold 10 harvesters with room for backup combat drones ), Bellicose and Osprey. All have useable drone bays to suppliment 3 or 4 mining lasers.

There is no such thing as best mining cruiser!
It depends all on your skills (aka your time already ingame), if you have high skills in drones and guns projectile or hybrid i would say infest in a Thorax or even Dominix BS dont worry about the mining setup load the ship as being on a hunting trip. Keep in mind where the pirate spawnpoint is and shoot the pirates from a distance and stay in place not picking up the loot. Let Elite or Harvesters mine for you. This way you can even mine arkanor and Bistot.
Have a buddy in an indy ganged and hope that he has lower sec rating then you. In a gang you can warp to someones position this means if the distance between the pirates and you is around the same they will lock the one with highest security rating aka the miner in the Thorax.
Once in the hour pickup the loot you have scattered around.
This is the best way of mining fast save and generating loads of ISK¦s due to minerals and bounty¦s even perhaps some rare drops.
