if dreads could attack a pos and it's godly defence, they could also easyly gank anything in a 1.0 system

I doubt it, they probably won't be able to track much else than stations and battleships. And I take it CONCORD will be using some dreads too by then .

I am really hoping dreads insurance suck and these cost ALOT, so it doesnt turn out that dreads are just next battleships.

You might gank a BS in one volley but the next volley wouldn't happen because CONCORD uses EW hacks to jam your ship?

yes but if there are 3-4 dreads they would own concord, anyway i think they will rather nerf pos defence

I remain unconvinced. A static emplacement is a very different tactical situation to a mobile platform. POSes might be very powerful, but their ability to project power is limited - they can't 'control' any space larger than their 300km targeting radius.
Therefore it needs to be distinctly more powerful to compensate for the fact that it's basically just a target.

even if there are 3-4 dreads, they would still ultimatly loose ... because its an exploit not to. Considering the cost of dreads, you would need to make sure than what your attacking is worth a hell of a lot of isk.
And if someone/corp tries a zombie-yulai stunt, then they already know what will happen. ban r' us.
so i wouldnt worry.

OMG ..... They will prolly be able to fight in .4 and bellow easily .. CONCORD does not play by game rules..they instajam.and do insane dmg and spawn on you... No dreadnoughts will have no chance in anyhing above 0.5 ... HOW stupid do you think CCp is ,? they wil not risk noobs dying in safe space since it will mean people being dissapointed wiht game and not playing it past trial day.!!!

only reason zombie got banned is because they refused to stop when GM's told them to, but if we keep talking about zombie... Click 
maybe banning dreadnaughts from above 0.4 could be a solution. RP-wise the empires don't want HUGE ships threatening their navies.

Ok so you are saying Dreads can tank massively constantly spawning jamming/scrambling/webbing gankaships?
Maybe for.. 5? 6 seconds? Beats a BS by a few.
Dreadnaughts dont have *amazing* defence, thats titans. Even then.. They would be EW'd into submission.

Wrong, if you ligedimently beat concord, they call "special" reinforcements. remember m0o...back in the day they owned all cops, so 7-9 devs in Special Ops and Black Ops concord battleships came and rectified the problem...

And yes, something people are missing here is that a dreadnought is not just a battleship with bigger numbers. It's got two modes, Normal and Siege. It can probably take out a battleship in one volley, sure, but only in siege mode, in which its defences have got to completely suck to balance it out. It's still going to be either gank or tank, you can't choose both.

The pictures that I've seen of the Amarrian dreadnought suggest that it only has three turret slots.
So you can either fit three XL guns which won't hit anything smaller than a POS or other dreadnought, or you can use large guns which will mean that you'll do less damage than any of the battleships.

Those might be the XL Eqiv of Dual beam lasers, though, which makes me salivate at the thought of XL Tachyons.

From the Database info they released a while back amarr dread is 4 (3 turret) High, 3 medium, 8 low. But many of the other stats looked like place holders so who knows, Those could be quad guns

When you shoot someone in empire.. a concord group shows up..
When you kill 1 concord ship a new concord group joins in..
If you say.. happen to kill 8 concord ships.. you will have 8 concord groups..
They can warpjam you no matter what... so unless you can find some crazy way to tank the damage for half an hour then I doubt we'll see anyone doing this.

You realize that TITANS are supposed to be no more than Mobile Bases not a Super Battleship right? I would not use the stats of the EVENT TITAN thinking that all TITANS will be that way.

3 ships cant kill concord but 4 can
U should test these things out before commenting on a thread like you know what your talking about, which you obviousley dont
