Moa of course. But anything calidari like is ugly of some sort except the merlin and BB.
Amarr bestower comes close too though. Just have to hate that ship.
My vote for the coolest design goes t gallente drone cruiser thorax.

Anything Minmatar is ugly by definition.
But my Moa is worse. And I was damn glad the day I didn't need to look at my Osprey (doh, that was long ago, lucky there are no Ospreys where I am).

Eh, I kind of like some of the minmatar ships. The caldari ones are ugly, though, no symmetry or anything.
Although I think the velator is also just really ugly. It looks...unbalanced.

I love the minmatar ships, invokes memories of the millenium falcon:P Also beauty is not always about symmetry, I love the way the MOA and Osprey look, I think the Maller for ugliest, all amarr ships are kinda wierd, I think its because they are all **** yellow:P

I gotta go with the Moa too. The caracal is another quite pretty caldari ship, pretty symmetrical too. So they have two, heh.

In the space of two days, got the chance to have examined a MOA (from an ally), a Caracal (from my CEO), and an Osprey (from a corpmate).
Butt ugly, all of them, although the Osprey kind of grows on you from sheer weirdness.
Not all Caldari ships look bad. The Kestrel is certainly the prettiest of Caldari ships. Merlin is just plain weird but you definitely remember its look.
The Bestower is just another ugly ship.

Every race has its ugly ships, and its good ones (well, maybe its not-quite-so-ugly ones)
Caldari ships definitely suffer from 'Concrete Bunker' syndrome, especially the Moa. But the Heron (if anyone's actually seen one) is quite cool in my opinion - big space-sails :)
Amarrian ships are pretty cool in general if you can handle that fact that every one of them is made from bronze. Not a fan of the Omen here, it's the Hungry-Hungry-Hippo in space.
Gallentean ships are....not too bad. The longer Iterons remind me a lot of the Discovery from 2001 :) However, almost every ship has been hit with the non-symetry stick. Thorax, blah. Vexor, good!
Minmatar ships have the biggest split - from amazingly cool (Rifter) to odd (the ghetto steam-train-in-space indy) to godawful (every other frigate). Haven't seen much of Minmatar cruisers and nothing of any Min battleships.
Overall, I think that there are some ships that I'd love to have flushed down a black hole, never to be seen again.
And others that I'd love to have a model for on my desk.

Personally I think that the Vexor looks like a big iron donkey head, and don't get me started on the ugly protusion coming out of the Thorax like a broken leg.
The MOA is kindof cool to me. Like a piece of abstract art. :)

Gallente probably have the prettiest in the Vexor and Thorax although the Exeq is a love it or hate it shape. Pure wierdness and ugliness must go to Min and Caldari, not sure which takes the uggliest award but it sure as hell comes from one of those races.

The Osprey is the worst I've seen so far...and the hoarder is pretty bad too. The Vexor is the best looking ship in my opinion, too bad it isnt a top end cruiser or I would definately own one.

Caldari - Osprey (Do I even need to explain this?)
Amarr - Apocalypse (It would look much better if it didn't have that weird bump sticking out of the bottom.)
Minmatar - Hel (The fabled stack of sheet metal.)
Gallente - Megathron (I never got some people's obession with this ship, in my opinion, it looks disgusting, like a 1970s car gone horribly wrong.)

Dominix + Drones = Space **** swarming w/ flies
Dominix + Drones + Activated NOS = bloody* space **** swarming w/ flies
*The red beam that comes out when NOS is activated makes it look like a very painful movement had just happened

But I think it's a tie between, Tempest, Typhoon, Rupture, Stabber, Breech, Sigil, Raven, Badger, Moa Scorpion, Thorax, Crucifier, and a few of the other Minmatar frigates that no one flies.

The Minmatar ships have the most detailed textures which is why I love them, the pitting and rust really looks awesome. They're just more interesting overall than the other races. The amarr are pretty sleak, i like those as well for the most part. Caldari ships all look like twisted a/c units though, the bigger ones anyway. I really like a few of thier frigates, my favorite overall frig has to be the Kestrel.
I think the ugliest ship I've seen is probably the moa too, followed by the Bestower.
The amarr shuttle really needs some help, doesn't fit with thier look at all, looks like a polished up minmatar shuttle. For that matter, the minmatar shuttle doesn't really resemble thier look either.
How come the gallente shuttle is the coolest looking ship in the game? I love the bright orange paint job.

I don't know the name of it, but the Caldari (?) security ship you see guarding jump gates that looks like a cannon with fins put on the front backwards. That p.o.s. irks me every single time I see it.
Without a doubt the crappiest piece of design effort I have seen.

$10 im the first person to say this...But IMO the UGLIEST ship in the game is the Megathron. I hate it with a passion. Its like a girl with a skirt on.
Even the MOA looks ok compared to it.

Typhoon, definitely. I saw one named "Hexagonal Horror" once, and that's all I can think of everytime I see one. It makes me laugh

I'd have to say
Min - typhoon simply because it looks what it is, if it was a better ship I'd say the scrap pile look would be good as it misleads about it true capability (kind of like the dominix)
Gal - Vexor because it looks more amarr which is out of place with the rest of the odd organic look most gally ships have.
Caldari - None. they have some real mingers when it comes to looks but that in it self is no bad thing,
as brutal functional design does seem more militaristic. Most caldari designs remind me of the later tiger tanks, angular and brutal looking.
Amarr - maybe the augoror but only because of the floating armour plates don't quite look right, I keep thinking that after a couple of hits they will fall off.

I have to say I do not find a single ship in eve ugly. In fact I like all the ships because of their quirks and oddities. Caldari ships look powerfull and menacing while Gallente ships flow with the nebulae of space. Amarrian ships show grandure and force while Minmatar ships show the need to produce a strong defense force without need of frills in a short time.
I like each and every ship in eve for being diffrent, there's no need for symetry in space, period. You can have a flying spiked ball for all I care, it will still move around in space if it was a perfect sphere.

Maybe, but the human brain desires it. It seems EVE is rather infamous for it's terrible ship design. And by terrible, I mean some slob whipped them out without a lot of effort.
I know I sound like a broken record, but this game deserves better.

I don't know why everybody calls Domi ugly. It looks strange but atlest it has good textures. Unlike Apoch or Exequror.... Ugliest ships in the game have to be Minmtar frigates exept Rifter. U.G.L.Y

I don't agree that symmetry is always desirable. Personally I like the industrial look of the Caldari ships, asymmetry and all. I loved the Earth ships from Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. Worst ship I've seen to date? After hearing a lot about them somewhere I flew past a Megathron for the first time yesterday (I'm a nub yes) and have to say I was very disappointed, they look terrible. |

My opinion is that form follows function. That said, it is very difficult to see how many of these artistic designs could every hope to be functional in theory. Most of them just plain suck and look like a grab bag of someones jokes and nightmares.
