Time ago i read that militia items where less effectives than normal ones but they would stay after death, you wont lose em, ive always liked sniping so i made a caldari arbiter, which is a sniper, but i also like to be "healer", so i bought the logistic minmatar suit, repair tool and nanite injector.
So i die and i had to restock... wtf?? |

you're a bit behind the times. nowadays, if you want an unlimited use item, you need to acquire the BPO. You equip the BPO like any other kind of module and hey presto! you now have an infinite supply of that particular thing.
militia gear BPOs are available from the market at about 20-50 Aurum each. IIRC there are Standard-grade BPOs too, but I'm not 100% sure where you get them from.
I have a BPO-based militia logistics dropsuit setup that works perfectly for my needs. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

Oh, boo frakking hoo. You can spend AUR to get an unlimited supply of the game's crappiest gear. Gear that you can comfortably afford to buy with ISK instead and will still turn a profit.
But, no, the second somebody mentions AUR it's "PAY TO WIN CCP PROMIS BRAKERS!!!1! GAAAHAAAAARRGH!!" and then you flip out and cry?
HTFU. It'll cost you $1.50 to buy yourself enough Aurum to afford ALL the militia-tier BPOs and keep yourself in universal voice transmitters for the next ten years. It's not like you're being asked to sign a contract in blood and mortgage your goddamn house, here. One dollar and fifty cents. You'll forgive me if I think you're being a bit of a melodramatic cheapskate for wanting to not even pay that much. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

I can get behind not owning a credit card. That's why I own a debit card, instead. That way I can only spend money I actually have, and don't get ridiculous charges for it.
In any case, this is a public discussion forum. You express an opinion, I'm at liberty to express my opinion of your opinion. That's how it works. Your opinion seems to be that you want a free lunch, and that you're prepared to inconvenience yourself for the sake of not having to (shock horror) actually pay for a service you want to use. My attitude is that this is an absurd opinion to have and deserving of ridicule.
If I've got your attitude wrong I apologise, but that's the impression I've taken. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

I assume that they can also be bought on the market with ISK (from a source that originally bought it with Aurum)?
After all, you can buy plex with ISK, and Aur with plex... |

so far, no. Because so far it's not possible to sell anything on the market, AFAIK. You're only able to buy NPC-seeded stuff.
I'm sure that will change, but that's how it is for now. They're taking baby steps with introducing DUST to TQ after all, making the market completely player driven right from the word go wouldn't exactly be in keeping with that policy.
How's that for an idea, though? Somebody buys a PLEX for EVE, sells it on the market, somebody else in EVE buys that PLEX with ISK, converts it to AUR, buys AUR gear for the dust mercs and sells it for ISK. I may just have gone cross-eyed. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

Exactly, its still the Beta, I'm sure that soon any equipment that comes from an Aurum source, will be available for purchase with ISK - just like it is in EVE now with the vanity clothing, monacles, etc

I may just have gone cross-eyed. Something similar is already happening.... although I still think that its a bit dumb to sell the clothing on the market... just buy plex, cut out the middleman, and buy clothing with Aur from the plex.
I suspect DUST aurum won't be the same as EVE Aurum, and will have different prices in RW money. So I don't think EVE Plex will be able to get DUST Aurum to sell for EVE ISK.
I think it will be more like: DUST player buys $15 worth of Aurum, gets 10 militia BPOs, sells these militia BPOs for ISK. I don't see why the market for the Aurum items can't be player driver from day 1 (after launch). Aurum items aren't for sale by NPCs for ISK. The standard, non-aurum items, should take a while longer for the Switch to player provided (although I'm still in favor of keeping a lot of stuff/ the low tier basic stuff NPC seeded to serve as a ISK sink for EVE) |

You have to be sucking really bad to not be able to afford replacement militia fits isk wise.
As in 0 kills to 20 deaths bad.
As for the BPO statement in standard gear, it only applies to suits and possibly a paint bucket in the future.
Standard gear is not that much better anyways.

Ah! I think you missed the part where CCP is keeping the two economies (EVE Online and DUST 514) separate. Your corp even has separate wallets for DUST and EVE ISK. And as other commenters noted, you can't sell things in DUST yet.
So you have to buy AURUM from the store right now -- if you can't afford to do that with a debit card or with cash at your local gaming shop (GameStop in the U.S., etc), you may not be in the target demographic whom CCP hopes to lure into EVE using DUST.

Militia = no skills required Blueprint [original] = no consumed on use [read: death] (Dust doesn't call it an original, just a blueprint)
_Usually_ a Blueprint is also a militia item but there are a few rare cases or a Blueprint requiring skills to use (there are 3 tier 1 dropsuits for example)
Blueprints are purchased with a small amount of arum but arum can also be used to by standard gear with a lower skill requirement than the ISK version and active/passive skill boosters
For a full match you'll make ~100K ISK minimum which is enough to restock ~50 full militia dropsuits (with militia fit) so unless you are dying 50+ times a game there's no need to use arum to purchase the militia blueprint items
For its [currently] far from pay to win (given the [current] skill cap) |
