Edited by: Zothike on 21/06/2005 11:28:25 Yes i like Khaldorn Murino ideas very good (space weather), and then some new skill kinda 'space meteorologist' that upon level raised can prevent when such event would arrise in system (or you have to go in the system (perhaps with a special module to do the prediction, but it would be too boring) or upon the level of the skill you can prevent 'space weather' to a radius of jump , then theses 'meteorological event would not be random, but planned by ccp

i've posted that a long time ago, it's not really an environnment, but sized jumpgate that allow only ship under a certain mass to go would be very good fun, you could have system where only frigates can fight etc etc

blinding cloud that kill your environment sensor , aka : nothing in overview and/or in direct sight unless it is less than x(x) kilometers

i dont know if it have been proposed i'm too lazy to read the thread
but 'frontline system' would be fun :
system with only jumpgate 2 or more no planet, no base, no moon , nothing else to jump into, and the jumpgate would be moved each dt (because of magnetic instability field or whatever u want to call it) and in direct access to each other (like 120km from each other or so then no instas jump, no ss , no cat and mouse pvp for hours in theses system

more or less a tactical environnement : system without jumpgate, u can go to it with bm u could get as reward from loot drop/missions/complex wathever
then it stay 'YOUR' system or your corpo/alliance untill.... u get betrayed

a cloud (or an abandonned malfunctionning jumpgate) that when u use it , send you in a random 0.0 area
and to make it tactical : the destination stay for say... 1 hour

In classical wargames you have geography with mountain/road/river etc and then the unit that can/can't cross such area and can go faster/slower in terrain type X in EVE all ship can go everywhere without special malus why not making a whole region (new one) with a very unstable backround (a part or a galaxy influenced by a "insert strange scientificals word's conbinaison here" that do the condition On each changing each DT (or weekly or montly, could be as i've stated in a previous post , making some ship class unable to use gate to enter/go out of the specific region, or more opened : region give some specifical advantage to ship (took from the various idea stated in the thread) then making a full new strategical environnement linked to that could be skill(s) "astrophysical behaviour" or wathever that can make you know how will be the region or sys or constellation, for the next X days

Not a real new environnment, but a huge (capital?) ship class to 'modifie' in some way the environment a 'asteroids belt destroyer' class ship, Specializing in destroying asteroid in a belt to make belt cleaned up until DT repop, to disrupt local economy, (of course ice belt destructor would be even more tactical in use)

More a strategical environnement
"Moving environnement Event"
A unique and interesting environnement that could interest players at hight level corpo/alliance Comets to be harvested would be the more logical, but for example a moving belt , with hight end ore and free from npc, or something very interesting like that , that were moving daily from one system to another with a pre-established travel road threw 0.0 , then corpo/alliance could have to organise to come with according fleet to get advantage of it and defend it from other protagonist
The event could be announced threw official CCP way or better, being another things that could be discovered with the new 'explorer' mini profession
