Can we nominate corps?
I'd just like to add the INO, Independant News Organisation. Long dead by now, but of major influence id risk say. Sadly, i know of no other ex-reporters but myself playing - havent seen Karunel or Torkay in a while, the other two i knew played retail. Then again, there's bound to be some playing.
If no corps, ill just nominate Torkaj, being the CEO and Editor of the INO at the time of its crash.

My vote would have to go to Latta.
I know he helps run eve-i but i've flown with him in the past and well, when he was/is at Carbide he was amazing. Never seen so many dedicated mining ops, fleets and the like.

Istvaan Shogaatsu.
Genius ? Devil ? Thief ? Murderer ? Drug-addled drunkard ? All these and more ! His immense fortune was built on the bodies of his countless victims, mangled and lying in the tattered remnants of their dreams.
His fiction is by far the best in the Library (not to mention the Chronicles/POTWs)..
He has destroyed numerous corporations, would-be dispensers of justice and bounty hunters. The horrifying evil that corrupts and spreads wherever he goes is never lacking in a certain stylish elegance, resulting in his awestruck victims (those that survive the experience) frequently becoming his fans (and employers).
Brilliant propagandist and meddler in galactic affairs, his intricate schemes and hyjinks make the world a far more interesting and chaotic place.
Finding out some people believed he was me was actually rather flattering.

Most players who made an impression on myself are from my starting days, which is quite a while ago now. So, leaving aside several corp members, here's just a few: Tank CEO, for reasons others have stated already. Posix, Aunenen was never safe when he was online. Verble, responsible for my first clone activation. Magua, never met him myself but, noobcorp chat always used to warn everyone if he was spotted lurking around the top of Lonetrek. Nightfang, for lets just say less than honest trading
425mm Railgun II, Sacrilege and Raptor BPCs. |

Hakera
Not sure if he's been nominated already, havent time to read whole thread.
The rivalry between Hardin and Hakera in the RP forums is what got me back into this game after beta.

Thanks for the love Cabby, however, it wouldnt be fair for me to share any of the credit which belongs to Seleene in this department. The mercenary profession as it is known today was the brainchild of Seleene alone and he has busted his ass to make it happen. That being said, if it were going to go down in the history books, it should be said that BDCI and Sharks, turned the mercing business into a legitimate profession hand in hand. I dont think either of us would be where we are today if it hadnt been for the other. We should be grateful and proud.
As for my 'legends in EVE' nominees...
Jade Constantine is absolutely HUGE in my book! Perhaps not as significant now as she was in the past and that is truly unfortunate. I think it is such a shame that people who are just starting this game will not have the pleasure (or pain) of experiencing Ms. Constantine. Jade and I clawed each others eyes out on more than one occasion, however, one cannot deny the impact and player driven content that she added to the game. I hope one day she will be allowed back into the public light to weave a new tale of political intrigue for all of us to be a part of.
Old Skool m0o - Zap, Stavros, Sassinak, TWD, Nego, Teel, Stained, Masiah, 0verkill, Omniwar, Bob GenghisKhan, Pootie - I could go on forever here. But there was something special about that group of players who terrorized CFS space and forum *****d like mad while they were at it. Channel invasions 4tw! Stavy's communist-like m0o manifestos posted on the forums. Those guys absolutely rocked and I'll never forget that time in the game.
Halseth Durn - Like Jade, another player who was bigger than life and drove the story of EVE forward. When Halseth (and Jade for that matter) spoke here on the forums, you could get lost in the environment of EVE and actually envision a well spoken, charismatic Amarrian political leader rousing his people into action for the love of their alliance! I miss those larger than life characters here on the forums, it seems its all about posturing and e-peen comparisons now. At least the posturing and e-peen comparisons of old had some style!
Molle - Love him or hate him, this guy is a genius. He showed what a small group of dedicated pvpers could do against groups MUCH larger than his. I dont think anyone is more feared or intimidating to the majority of the EVE population. He has taken the concept of evolution and applied it so magnificently, I believe he and anyone who follows him will be on top for a long time to come. Survival of the fittest - adapt or die - Evolution.
As a side note, if I ever become famous and legendary, I hope I am remembered for white cotton panties, haikus, citrus fruit & Sharks.

Interesting.. The people that affected me most in my eve-life :)
SacredBlade, Shredder, Knightdelta, CenZor - my original Sabaoth mates. Istvaan Shogaatsu - Endless Corporation - RP/evil genius... Hardin - PIE and Amarr RP ftw! (Pulgor has to get honourable mention here as well) Jade Constantine - best forum posts ever. Made me think about Eve more than anyone. SirMolle/Shrike + Discorporation - Evolution and addiction to PvP. (still need my hit!) Yuki Li, Kale Ryoko - Omerta Syndicate - general fun people - Cenn will never forget you!

These two don't need introductions anymore SirMolle/Shrike Lord Zap
Winterblink: perhaps not for the actual ingame history, but WDA is something unique for the community
Btw, I think it is Dancer (no idea on ingame name) who made EVE-I, not Latta altough Latta does do a lot for EVE-I

Leaders: Molle. No contest possible. In Beta, TAOSP (which he led) did what no one else thought possible and demolished Endless Corporation. In Retail, he created alliances, vexed diplomats, he 'brought it' when taunted.
<3 u molle
RP: Makkar, HellGremlin (Istvaan Shogaatsu), theDeviant and Hardin.(Vasdenjas Bokor). Those three have probably influenced me more then they'll ever know. Makkar is the king (and queen lol) of Minnie RP. HellGremloin is one of the best story writers I know of, theDeviant is just plain cool.
Hardin is awesome.
Forum: Jash Illian. Seriously, think about it.

for beeing the first to POD me and a few times after, beeing a pain in the ar** but beeing one of the best PvP pilots I met fighting many times against him and mOo. Just beeing salt in the soup of Eve and his frozen corps is still one of my prized posessions in my hangar!

Calmity Jayne ofcourse CEO of Jazz associates the happiest corp in the EVE universe Jayne is the only player in EVE with the mysterious "fluttering" skill which enables her to do unbelievable things like getting free BS/cruiser BPC's, new homes in 0.0, and even whole corps which merge just to be part of the fun offered. This special skill must have something to do with her being a RL woman. But the best thing about her is the way she can bring peeps together who have differences. It's just a matter of time until she'll be the Empress of us all

Scull HSC - One of the best fleet commanders I've had the privilege of knowing.
Stavros - THE pirate. IMO the single most notorious pirate ever, and half the game population wanted to make him Amarr Emperor.
Ragnar (Along with the rest of TTI) - for running a corp in Eve like an actual corp. Seeing what TTI was doing is one of the main things that got me into Eve.
Morbor - His investment scam was HUGE.

Hardin and the whole PIE / CVA gang for being truely awesome rp'ers and pvp'ers and for putting up with me for so long for trying to ruin their galactic domination plans and Golan Trevise for being the original evil in PIE.
Maggot - for being the longest and continious freedom fighter and leader for the Minnies and the most level headed out of our rabble bringing balance between the hardliners and extreemists in the freedom fighting bunch.
Jade Constantine, Sir Molle, TornSoul, Halseth Durn, Cochise, Robeyone for being instrumental memorable faces and leaders in the Northern War in its full history along with a ton of other people.
TankCEO - for being the most evilist of pirates and his Sarum prime days.
Setec - the original pirate and the whole space invader crew.
Dancer, kreischweide and latta - the creator and admins of Eve-I where I first took my steps from being a noob into being a member of the team and helping Eve-I at its prime becoming the most useful source on all things Eve.
Morbor - for his dasterdly scam. He made away with a billion when a billion was a lot.
The Eve Community - for being awesome

Jade Constantine: Was a mistery to me since I started EVE long after she stopped posting, yet kept hearing her name over and over, either in chat or in alliance forums.
Eventually the legend lured me so much I actually ended up applying and being accepted into Jericho. I'm still amazed how from time to time I may be roaming thru some system and somebody in local makes me a comment about her.
DigitalCommunist and Viceroy: Although I believe the bigger part of their fame comes from their superbly incisive posts about game mechanics rather their impact on the EVE political landscape, truth is that the same as Jade C. I knew their name long before I crossed path with them.
Other names the vets that I talk to keep mentioning a lot (which, btw, is what I would consider a legend: people I've heard of, yet never met!): SirMolle, TankCEO, HellGremlin, Seleene.

Well there are more aspects than just players, fx. Soldiers trying democracy killed Curse Alliance - a council representing everybody and their grandmothers will always fail if you want to be a powerful military might.
In terms of alliace leaders, the smartest thing would be to take the leaders of the game when Exodus was introduced, before you (CCP) killed off the old alliances :)
It would be the cool thing to do.
In regards to CA you should mention: Chowdown, Tholarim, Duke Droklar, Xirtam, Foyle and Zloba/Hassis.
In terms of market tycooning etc. I think that M. Corp/Velios deserves some recognition for their remarkable leadership in the BPC trading world.
Megacorp Executives my votes is clear - Chowdown and Nebba Kenezzer from Shinra.

MASS corp / allaince for being the ultimate in combat logging to avoid a fair fight with FIX.
Species for losing their station to FIX and then not being able to taking it on their own and calling in red alliances and MASS etc and then still losing the station over and over and over to FIX. Lol i nomiate them for the legends award lol
And FIX for being such a great alliance even though im not part of them anymore - their organisation and combat skills are 2nd to none.

Jade Constantine - One of the original reason I stayed in the game, too bah she isnt posting anymore. Corp forums went down the drain without her good postings.
Lifewire - Probably the last true pirate in this game. No PvE, just PvP and the question "can we scramble it? can we kill it? can we ransom it?"
Lord Zap - his name stands for the older m0o, before it went into megacorp mode
XpoHoc - mysterius Pirate, hardly seen on the forums, made me wanting to join TDG. Master of the bald mataris.
Olyyy - Spindoctor! He had more influance of my Eve time then anyone else. Always up for crazy plans.

There is one man I'd like to nominate for his out of game actions however. Chribba with his eve-files, eve-search and eve-bay. Immense community service.

Jexter & his Jokers - He made me make a pirate toon :) We tried to mimic their corp with a couple of friends. Their vids are dark and have an evil atmosphere. Better ads for piracy than the one the eve-team did.
SirMolle - He always manages to instigate trouble :) ------------------------------------------ I am a love machine, feeding my fantasy, give me a kiss or three, have fun!

Corp/alliance - for me i'd have to say Pie/CVA for various reasons already mentioned but also for being respectable enemies, used to fight them alot before LEGI0N moved, it was alot of fun.
CEO's - Too many to mention... there are alot of respectable and influential ceo's out there. I realise i'm biased in saying this, however, i feel as though Countessa is worthy of note. Anyone who has spoken with him or had dealings with him in the past will know my reasons why, but for those who don't it's simply because he is level headed and reasonable.
Pirate Legends - Jokers, Teddybears & Turnadragon (sp?) For me these are the most notable pirate corps out there.
There are alot of people who deserve credit in this game, unfortunatly it would take too long to name them all.

And of course because no mather where you go that name is know to nearly every player in the world of EVE.

They used to make my heart beat faster everytime they appeared in local. If one was there, you would know the other wouldn't be far away. They really spiced up the life in Pure Blind.

I vie for Lord Zap, never met him or was ever chased by him thru space [which was a very good thing to happen...or not happen] and his lot @ m00 corp. Only person i really did fear to run into in EvE. Saw a pic of him chasing a former corp buddy of mine tho, [shudder].
