I gather you here for an informal location to nominate the pilot or pilots which have influenced you the most in the history of EVE. Alliance Leader, Pirate Legend, Industrial Czar, Market Tycoon or Megacorp Executive, they all belong here.
You can of course not nominate yourself and remember, please state what that person has accomplished to become so renown.
(And or course, keep this civil ) _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Shamis Orzoz.
The best CEO I've flown under the command of, top notch combat commander and the backbone of an already tightly knit and loyal pirate corp.
He might have a lazy eye, but he knows what he's doing, and has a sense of humour to match the craziness of his visual impairment.
As a fleet commander and CEO he's lead us to many a massively outnumbered victory, provided priceless combat knowledge and experience to upcoming members of our corp, as well as helping to keep us together when hard times, and outside interference have struck the heart of our corp.
It's pretty much been a privelige to fly with SNIGG for the last six and a half months, so I nominate it's CEO and Founder.

You mean you want (in)famous people and corps who will influence future events/chronicles/game background.
Much like 'm0o' appearing in some agent mission briefings, and Pottesy appearing in a chronicle about shield tanking?
It's pretty obvious then that corps like NAGA, HUFF, Stain Alliance, Curse Alliance, Phoenix Alliance, Z0mbie should be used. Much like characters such as Ryctor, TankCEO, Galk, Avon, etc should be used?
Or am I missing the point.

Maggot. The man rocks. He keeps his corp together and help runs an alliance while maintaining his massive reserves of cool and collectiveness and still would rather not be doing it all and blowing stuff up instead im sure.
I will quote one of my fellow alliance members, who said something along the lines of
"Well, we all argue and put forth wild suggestions then eventually all come to the conclusion that Maggot is right"
Basically he continues to make the game fun for a lot of people. FU2 have an unfettered love for him, although strictly man love you understand :) -

Nobody can shout stfu right when it's needed like him and be one of the best fleet commanders even when half the gang is drunk and then i didn't even mention the guts to stand up against bigger odds and have everyone follow him while doing it (and occasionaly coming out on top )

i have flown under and with many pilots, but this guy is a different league..
He has created a corp in which i feel a part of, He's allways willing to help you out, explain things you don't quite understand about things (i get confused alot..),
I have never felt that we are flying UNDER him.... more WITH him..
lets just say, if it wasn't for shamis, the corp he created, the way he runs his corp, and the select few he chose to fly with him, i wouldn't be playig EVE right now..

He was the first who got a Comet, and was mentioned on the news for that. But I'm pretty sure that I got my Firetail before that, no idea who had the first faction ship in general. He's the one who wrote the faction ship guide though, and that is definitely worth a mention.

I also think that Shamis deserves a nomination, and obviously my opinion is seriously biased, but I've never spoke to him prior to when he became my CEO so I can't really judge. ;)
I've gotten into SNIGG because I saw a recruitment thread here, just signed up, sent him an eve-mail and I was in. For all he knew I was a corp thief coming from some dubious carebear corporation nobody ever heard of (no offense Dr), but he decided to see how it went I guess.
Anyhow, after not so long I became quite skilled at losing expensive ships to either stupidity, inexperience or taking unneeded risks. I became so proficient at this that I was skint nearly all the time, my kill/loss ratio was awful, I had to put new ships together all the time and honestly this wasn't such a great experience of what I thought it would be to be a pirate. Actually, I found it to be damn hard at times.
Back to the guy who deserves the props - he kept me stocked for a good while until I learned how to be actually successful at PvP'ing, or at least calculating and minimising the risks of doing it. If it wasn't for him I probably would've quit EVE because I simply couldn't keep myself financed and had absolutely no interest in going back to carebearing at all. It was all or nothing, and it turned out to be everything.
That's just one of my own examples of how I personally appreciate Shamis for what he does and did, his patience and his ability to think rationally.
When it comes to actual achievements that have been made under the command of Shamis, I'd like to mention the fact that he got us the Valhalla versus G mercenary contract. This contract was awesome. Unfortunately I don't think I can give you exact numbers, but trust me, we weren't short on anything, isk or material wise.
Complementing the above, we were also the first corporation who was able to take the C4C station in Fade under the command of Shamis in this war. Credit where credit is due - our allies helped us, and granted, we didn't manage to retain ownership, but if you looked at the amount of effort that was put into this siege, the golden medal goes to Shamis.
As far as I'm concerned, he deserves another golden medal or two when it comes to our POS. Along with Atos, Rho (who sadly have both quit EVE) and a few others, he managed to get our entire large POS, ammunition, modules, fuel, ships, cans and all other nuts and bolts required 20 jumps into hostile 0.0 space - Pure Blind (!) - and set it up in a strategically awesome location, no more than 15 jumps away from any major region of action.
I would also like to mention the saving of our POS when it was just put up (or even onlining still) - it was under siege by the IRON alliance and everybody had pretty much given up all hope. Shamis coordinated a rescue attempt, which worked flawlessly (thanks to Rho and his "natural bookmark" ;z). If it wasn't for his thinking and ability to motivate people/boost the morale/get things going, we would've been sitting in empire scratching our asses. Shamis brings up a lot of good ideas, or makes decent ideas even better.
That's why he's getting my nomination of number one leader, not only as a CEO, but also as a commander, liaison and cheerleader. :)

Every roleplayer I've interacted with has always been my every inspiration to continue playing. Some of the greater motivations were Jade Constantine (I mean.. come on.), Foyle (Well, she just made me feel less guilty when I screwed up), Pulgor (Apparently the only PC Ammatar in EVE), Marie Trudeau (I can't actually -say- why here), Kaleigh Doyle (as much as I hate to admit it), NeoThermic (Not a roleplayer, but I still love him, kept me going through alot of Not So Cool EVE Moments)...
And, there's many unforgettable characters that I've really just been kind of impressed with their.. greater uniqueness. GoGo Yubari for being the most honorable, notorious pirate I've seen yet. Herko Khergans for his spectacular short stories. Selena D'Kree for being my secret friend (I mean, how can I forget that..)
Really, there's just way too many people on EVE that have caught my eye. I can't do justice to them all with simple words. I don't really think I've known too many 'renown' people, overall, but.. Eh. I've been around, and I plan on sticking around long enough to meet alot more people.

N'Fran D'Larn - the heart of Everlasting Vendetta
CYVOK - best CEO ingame
Stavros - the original bad arse of Eve. Was at the forefront of the corporation which was at the forefront of Eve for so long
The Reverend - top quality guy. Was in EV for so long under adifferent name and I never knew until just before he returned to m0o.
Con'Mal - just because he's so dangerous.

I have to add a vote for Maggot - he does a hell of a lot to keep the Minmatar rabble together in The Only War That Matters. Al Haquis also deserves a vote for bringing enthusiasm, recklessness and comedy to the action and keeping together the largest freedom fighter corp. Khaldorn Murino has done so much for Minmatar RP that he surely deserves a mention, if nothing else for the Great Slave Raid.
Hardin of course deserves a mention for playing a pompous Amarrian to the hilt. Golan Trevize has done a fantastic job as Hardin's Darth Vader - his shadow is still cast across the conflict, even in retirement.
TornSoul deserves a nod for building a lasting presence in the community via BIG's tireless and principled service to the EVE market.
And, well, Dr. Hnolku certainly has influenced history quite a bit ...

Parallux and Sinistasia...the guys who really welcomed me into my first REAL corporation...and the guys who I depended on for quite a while...until they disappeared, leading me to create my own corporation, which was definitely a big milestone. I just hope they aren't dead, I haven't seen or heard from them in months and months...if anybody's seen them, please tell me!
Jonsemann, who helped me get Gilead's Bullet off the ground...even if we're still just barely hovering...and come to think of it, I haven't seen Jonsemann either, for at least a week or two...anybody know what's going on with him?
Pitboss, Thaylon Sen, Nanos, Sir Real, FowlPlayChiken, Blue Cougar, Ademaro Imre, Roshandari, Hulredi, Caine Domini, Steno, Zaphod Jones, Deric, Trilestion, CdCommander, Grismar, and every single other one of the crazy denizens of CFD Public. Especially Nanos, he is one hell of a crazy bastard.
Aphoxema G, Marie Trudeau, and Pulgor...I love you all to death! ::crushing hug::
Lord Plush! My favorite trog in the UNIVERSE! Oh by the way, thank you LordPlush for sending me my very own Lord Plush.
Istvaan Shogaatsu/Hellgremlin and Herko Kerghans...they rock so hard, they even inspired me to write my own twisted fiction. Yes, I am aware that nobody reads it, and yes, that was a shameless plug. Whatever.
Pottsey...through her, I discovered that I'm NOT the only passive shield tanker out there...even though we ARE still crazy.
And last but not least ERIS DISCORDIA!!! I WILL CHASE AFTER YOU IN YOUR PINK DREADNAUGHT OF PWNAGE UNTIL THE END OF TIME! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! ::passes out due to lack of oxygen:: ___________________________________________ ^^^***---All things serve the Beam---***^^^ GDBT is recruiting! |

Edited by: Deileon on 21/06/2005 22:57:58 As I know the GMs are reading this - As pointed out, I can see you are asking the question in order to compile information to add real player names to future game lore. A valid idea, but I think it illustrates the continuing disconnect between the people RUNNING Eve, and the people PLAYING Eve. I point this out to try to be helpful, because I think this is the PRIMARY problem with the game.
So to be brief. Ye up high, should have people within your ranks who play the game a lot! Then perhaps you would know some answers to this question, and a lot of others as well, and thus have a better knowledge of what and how things really need to be changed.
Anyway, I nominate Madri for her novel corp dedicated to bookmarking every inch of the known universe and selling the results. Perhaps when the bookmarking changes hit, she could be in your lore somewhere (as a tiny compensation to having all her work thrown out, but hey that's the way it goes )

Edited by: Avon on 22/06/2005 00:07:04 Tank CEO. Not spoken to him much recently, but he probably turned me to the darkside. I remember running supplies to him and *****cat (that is so going to get filtered) in Aunenen, only to get dragged into their evil schemes. Until then I had only killed miners :)
Bandit24 The man behind Huff Technologies. An inspiration to those who have had the pleasure of working with him. Now sadly departed, gone over to the other side (WoW - or EQ2, something with big choppers and half dressed women .... er ... cya) - maybe he will see the light soon.
darth solo He's the man. Quite possibly my longest running enemy, and the former bane of all pirates. Fortunately we managed to convince him piracy was dead, so he tends to leave us alone now.
Jade C. Gotta love the politics. Sadly no longer allowed on the forums, whilst trolls roam free. No justice. (I expect that will all get modded, but it is still true).
Disco, Rod B, Vice. Respect for people with a vision for the future of the game.
Winterblink. Using comedy to show us all how stupid we really are.
Keiron / Wrangler For not banning me yet.
Drink Starsi Corp. For showing those Quafe loving Gallente muppets what refreshment is really all about.
Hardin. For making Saurum Prime the fun it was ... and for an impressive role playing attitude. RP may not be for everyone, but you have to take your hat off to the big H for making it work so well for him.
Who else?
Ragnar .. whatever happened to his hat?
Oh... how could I forget.
Frakri, Fuglife, Widget, Cro, Pera, Loki, Masochist. The sort of guys you want around you when the bullets start flying.
And..
The Reverend for blowing up my first cruiser. The git.
Oh, can I mention Huff Technologies as an outstanding corp? Very much the breeding ground for some of the top PvP talent in Eve. Many of its former members can be found flying in some of Eve's most prominent corporations, and I am proud to have shared my time with them. ______________________________________________ Pay or pray..er..prey..yeah, pray you aren't prey. My nomination would have to be Istvaan Shogaatsu. Aside from the fact that this man is a great writer. He is also founder of the Guiding Hand Social Club. While TankCEO, or mOo might be used to frighten low sec travelers, I can not think of anyone person/persons who will put the fear of god into a CEO faster than mentioning Istvaan's name, or the GH-SC tag.
On a personal note, Istvaan took me in when I was just a lonely, little ore thief. Helped cultivate my pvp abilities and honed my thief skills. This last year with GH-SC has been some of the funniest times I've had in any game.
As a side note there are many people who should be mentioned. People like....
Zeepo - Only person I know that has been mentioned in an out of game publication. Forever shaped the art of scamming in eve.
Tenaj & Vogon - Truly the mother and father of ore theft.
Drunkenmaster, DigitalCommunist, Viceroy - Some of the only voices of reason on the forums.
Originally by: FireFoxx80 It's pretty obvious then that corps like NAGA, HUFF, Stain Alliance, Curse Alliance, Phoenix Alliance, Z0mbie should be used. Much like characters such as Ryctor, TankCEO, Galk, Avon, etc should be used?
While i am flattered by Fire, I have no place along side people like Galk and TankCEO. I'm a nobody, just a simple thief.

Edited by: Pallantre Ekim on 22/06/2005 00:44:38 After watching the community grow through the years, mentions of certain personalities come up time and time again in the annals of history. The time has come to pay tribute to such individuals of immense gravity. So here is the first mention which rightly goes to the foresight of Istvaan Shogaatsu, whose elabourate plotting enlivens the universe, enstilling fear into the hearts of many a CEO. Lauded muchly must be the elegant thoughts of Digitalcommunist and Viceroy, who perpetually strive for the betterment of our collective EVE experience. Here's to Oveur who for some time now has, frankly, been doing Kieron's job amongst a multitude of other obligations. EVE universe is a dynamic, living place, and the list of names of the people we are indebted to in that respect is much too long to conver in a single post like this. So if you're reading this, give yourself a pat on the back -- chances are you were a part of it in some measure.

Aside from maybe Archbishop, or Gaius Kador.. the rest of those people might as well not exist outside the Intergalactic Summit. Being able to roleplay well isn't about making annoying posts or blabbing about stupid ideals. The people I've mentioned have had substantial contributions, to the level where non-RPers are affected. I'd say thats a win.

These things always end up spawning long lists, and rightfully so! No one person should really be the brightest star on the skies of influence.
Oveur as demi-deity Among the devs and other representants of CCP, I could nominate TomB due to my obsession with game mechanics and rules, but Oveur will have to serve as the demi-god of the CCP pantheon. For it is Oveur one looks to when it comes to gleening the tidbits of the future, as well as smashing presentations of new content!
Conram as great leader While some proclaim CYVOK as the previous main character in the great productions alliance Xetic, this has never truely been the case. The true glue that kept the alliance together and strong (and it is important to note that strength is not measured in military force, but also in industry, moral, ethic, honour, and dignity) was always the leadership of X-Traders and among them I have only fond memories of Conram. I helped build the strong Xetic, not the Xetic which fell apart, and I am proud to say that Conram was our leader!
Primer Xenius as legend It has been most difficult to select someone who truely meant something to me in the ways of a personal hero in this game. I have so many good choices in Mercenary Coalition, but they are truely my equals and brothers in arms, not my heroes. The EVE world in itself present some more obvious choices in the forms of notable combatants and combat leaders, but they never meant anything to me and now I do not even consider many of them my equal and none my superior. This leaves me to the people who helped me get into the game, people like Sniperpirate, The Beast (the original), and Lacrimosa. Or people who I truely admire such as Phoenix Pryde of 3-I for their devotion and skill in the less glorious part of EVE which is productions and sales. Primer Xenius belongs to both of those groups and more! He was one of the people who brought me in to EVE, an excellent corporation leader, and one of the best internet/game friends you can have.
Not precisely the people you'd expect a dedicated PvPer to proclaim as his greatest influences. Atleast I think Seleene will be a bit surprised, none of those mentioned are (known) to PvP. --

Quote: "I gather you here for an informal location to nominate the pilot or pilots which have influenced you the most in the history of EVE. Alliance Leader, Pirate Legend, Industrial Czar, Market Tycoon or Megacorp Executive, they all belong here."
I have two on my list.
Ragnar Danneskjold Taggart Transdimensional In my "past life" in Eve Ragnar was the person who influenced me the most. When I first applied in early Beta I'd heard of TTI and seen their awesome website. I endured a long interview process and was eventually hired. I remember talking to Ragnar (who in RL is a very successful businessman) and sharing the belief in Ayn Rand and being a producer versus a taker. I rose in TTI to eventually be its VP which was a great honor as there were some fantastic people there. Even after leaving TTI and going on my own I enjoyed talking to him on the phone. When Ragnar went rouge and TTI kind of collapsed it was a sad day for me. While I was dealing with health issues and ended up taking a break from Eve I still missed what some of the Eve dev's had called a "picture perfect vision of a corp" and everything we'd built. Seeing TTI in the strategy guide is still a hoot. Perhaps if we'd had a stock market back then and people could've bought stock in other companies economic "power" would be as important today as military power. A great economic visionary and leader Ragnar gets my vote as "past legend".
Hardin PIE When I came back to Eve after a four month hiatus I knew I wanted something different then flying around Eve making isk. I knew of Hardin of course as one of the "roleplay guys" so I talked to him. As my "main" was Caldari I had to create an entirely new character. Archbishop was born (I'm still amazed after a year that name was available). Seeing Hardin manage a corp, manage the endless PR of an RP alliance and just being a friend is still alot of fun. I don't regret for a minute starting a brand new character after a year just to join PIE. While I work alot now and am on mostly weekends I know PIE and Hardin are there waiting for me. A great leader, friend and Amarrian he gets my vote as "current legend".

Pulgor - for "Reclaim thy neighbour."
Ragnar Danneskjold - CEO of imho one of the coolest corps in EVE. tti was a real corporation, not just a fps clan kind of organization.
Molle - Influenced me personally, no. But when you hear others talking about him as a leader/tactician with awe in their voice he must've done something right ;)
Jade Constantine - What he/she wrote is still good reading long after the actual happenings. Just reading the forum posts makes you feel...I don't know like you're there and that it's a real serious conflict going on. One of the two times that've been done in any game I know of.
Duke Droklar - I remember when I had just started playing EVE he organized some mining in 0.0 for us newbies. The salary of 500k / h was really good money back then if you were in a frig. That represents to me one thing that makes EVE stand out from other games. It's all about player interaction. Working together or as he did, making others work for you :D. (Though I think it was mostly a recruitment drive for Omega)
And a few quick ones from the Amarr faction:
Takumi Vetinari - Introduced me to PIE and a great leader.
Golan Trevize - Makes Darth Vader look like a carebear.
Gaius Kador - "Silence dog!"

Hmmm....
Tough choice. I really dont' have anyone to fit in any specific category. There are names that stand out however. Not all of these are active and some have been sent to the biomass queue.
Joshua Calvert, Bad Harlequin, Daakkon, TankCEO, Jade Constantine, Riddari, Cyvok, Lallante, Chowdown, Slothe, Darth Solo, Jester, Archain, Viceroy, Nafri, Hardin, Miso, Blacklight, Morkt Drak, etc - All of these people have definitely had an impact on EVE and they way I play the game. There are more of course and people I've forgotten
I'd mention some MC mbrs but that goes without saying...

I'd have to nominate Latta, Founder of Eve-I, for his ability to inspire loyalty and dedication from so many fans of Eve.
Sure, the background of Latta isn't hugely known, but he's been involved right from the word go in Eve, building up a corporation as part of a team of dedicated players (whose names I only omit due to a lack of first hand experierence), who helped lead a corporation when it's CEO became absent from the game and who'se influence indirectly let to the creation of m0o...

I would have to nominate Axor Thormgrost for his many achievements. He was instrumental in the formation of several Alliances and was the Co-Founder of the ill-fated CFS. He has taught many players how to play, shares his knowledge unselfishly and tries to help others when and whereever he can.

Ragnar Danneskjold: Leader of the then most publicly know corporation and possibly biggest economic powerhouse in the early life of Eve. Ragnar/TTI had a spectacular effect on the first months and should be remembered for it.
Jade Constantine: Best PR person ever and had a large part in the downfall of Ragnar/TTI
Zarquon Beeblebrox: Former piratehunter, now pirate queen of the north.
Lord Zap/M0o: They used to strike the fear of God into people and even forced Concord to send The Four to clear their bockade. Later to evolve into alliance busters and rowing killers.
Darth Solo: Anti-piracy embodied. Loved/hated/know pirate hunter in the Eve universe.

gotta say Zeepo im afraid, robbed me on one of my earliest days when out mining, and he taught me never to trust anyone who says "ill haul, for a fee, pay upfront" oh i was such a noob. Still, was all fun. Learning that lesson so early on was more valuable than you might think, for different reasons too. So I always feel a bit of sympathy for Zeepos cause while never theiving anything myself.
On other topics there are 2 main people whos posts i enjoy reading because they usually express what i feel in better words, because im useless at expressing myself, i waffle, and stuff. DigitalCommunist and Avon both have ideals of what the future of Eve should be like which i whole heartedly agree with, for the most part . They understand it as well as any man could. good job chaps.

Molle : One of the few to truly set their mark. Sastul/Nathan Vaughn(sp) : Same as molle - Although prob less well known now.
Not coincidentially the two persons who 'thought up' the FA, and made it what it was in its early days (and later also) No need in going into detail with these two gentlemen
HG : No list like this without HG as well - Not only is he probably the largest egomaniac in EVE - But also the most devious and dangerous and... and damn can he write as well... His exploits are too many to even start mentioning here. While he to many new/medium EVEians might seem a bit 'faded' and they prob dont quite understand what the fuzz is all about : Stay as far away from this guy as you can . He *will* pervert you. (Hi HG ) To sum up : Lethal, in his, to most, not so obvious ways.
Jade C : Never has any been so prolific on the forums debating this and that AND made sense at the same time (if you had the stomach for the long, but very well written, posts). Dearly miss his/her input on the forums. Dont the emperor have some kind of amnesty on his birthday or some such? One of the very best, if not *the best* (that I know of anyhow), who can win any verbal debate/argument - Where logic and sound reasoning and arguments wins over trolling and name calling. I'd think twice before entering the ring with Miss Jade C.
Xirtam : The first true GodFather. Influenced a quarter of the map for over a year. 'nuff said. TRIGGER : Same as Xirt - But more of a GoodFather (at least until recently). But none the less the same impact.
You really cant say TRIGGER without saying Xirtam, or vice versa. Have these guys ever shaped a huge part of EVE history and legend together.
Hardin : A legend in his own, for keeping it true to the story. HUGE respect. Probably less direct influence on the game as such, than he/PIE truly deserves.
Seleene : For actually making mercs 'respected'. Through sheer willpower and fair play - Both to clients and prey (BIG once had the 'honor' ) Others tried before her, and none managed to make the merc profession 'OK'. All mercs to come owe her tribute.
I could, and probably should, name a bunch more who has also 'set their mark'. But those will have to do (for now), and many are mentioned already. (I'll prob hit myself for forgetting a couple atm tomorrow...)
Theres alot of 'forgotten' heroes out there as well - Those that never reach the limelight, but that none the less can have a huge impact.
One good example is my own Frantik (who posted earlier) I cant say I know of any other pilot who single handedly can make entire *fleets* move - By simply appearing in local. He is one of the unsong heroes who does not dabble in politics, and thus stays out of the limelight - And only those at the front lines know of him, and fear him - and his tracking skills. "You can run, but you cant hide" Never was it truer than when Frantik found his call.
I'm sure theres more like Frantik out there. Pilots who almost on their own can turn the tide of battles, due to their special skill&reputation (be it scanning or something completly different)
They deserve their mention as well - Just takes abit longer to explain why

I'd just like to add the INO, Independant News Organisation. Long dead by now, but of major influence id risk say. Sadly, i know of no other ex-reporters but myself playing - havent seen Karunel or Torkay in a while, the other two i knew played retail. Then again, there's bound to be some playing.
If no corps, ill just nominate Torkaj, being the CEO and Editor of the INO at the time of its crash.

Istvaan Shogaatsu.
Genius ? Devil ? Thief ? Murderer ? Drug-addled drunkard ? All these and more ! His immense fortune was built on the bodies of his countless victims, mangled and lying in the tattered remnants of their dreams.
His fiction is by far the best in the Library (not to mention the Chronicles/POTWs)..
He has destroyed numerous corporations, would-be dispensers of justice and bounty hunters. The horrifying evil that corrupts and spreads wherever he goes is never lacking in a certain stylish elegance, resulting in his awestruck victims (those that survive the experience) frequently becoming his fans (and employers).
Brilliant propagandist and meddler in galactic affairs, his intricate schemes and hyjinks make the world a far more interesting and chaotic place.
Finding out some people believed he was me was actually rather flattering.

Most players who made an impression on myself are from my starting days, which is quite a while ago now. So, leaving aside several corp members, here's just a few: Tank CEO, for reasons others have stated already. Posix, Aunenen was never safe when he was online. Verble, responsible for my first clone activation. Magua, never met him myself but, noobcorp chat always used to warn everyone if he was spotted lurking around the top of Lonetrek. Nightfang, for lets just say less than honest trading

Thanks for the love Cabby, however, it wouldnt be fair for me to share any of the credit which belongs to Seleene in this department. The mercenary profession as it is known today was the brainchild of Seleene alone and he has busted his ass to make it happen. That being said, if it were going to go down in the history books, it should be said that BDCI and Sharks, turned the mercing business into a legitimate profession hand in hand. I dont think either of us would be where we are today if it hadnt been for the other. We should be grateful and proud.
As for my 'legends in EVE' nominees...
Jade Constantine is absolutely HUGE in my book! Perhaps not as significant now as she was in the past and that is truly unfortunate. I think it is such a shame that people who are just starting this game will not have the pleasure (or pain) of experiencing Ms. Constantine. Jade and I clawed each others eyes out on more than one occasion, however, one cannot deny the impact and player driven content that she added to the game. I hope one day she will be allowed back into the public light to weave a new tale of political intrigue for all of us to be a part of.
Old Skool m0o - Zap, Stavros, Sassinak, TWD, Nego, Teel, Stained, Masiah, 0verkill, Omniwar, Bob GenghisKhan, Pootie - I could go on forever here. But there was something special about that group of players who terrorized CFS space and forum *****d like mad while they were at it. Channel invasions 4tw! Stavy's communist-like m0o manifestos posted on the forums. Those guys absolutely rocked and I'll never forget that time in the game.
Halseth Durn - Like Jade, another player who was bigger than life and drove the story of EVE forward. When Halseth (and Jade for that matter) spoke here on the forums, you could get lost in the environment of EVE and actually envision a well spoken, charismatic Amarrian political leader rousing his people into action for the love of their alliance! I miss those larger than life characters here on the forums, it seems its all about posturing and e-peen comparisons now. At least the posturing and e-peen comparisons of old had some style!
Molle - Love him or hate him, this guy is a genius. He showed what a small group of dedicated pvpers could do against groups MUCH larger than his. I dont think anyone is more feared or intimidating to the majority of the EVE population. He has taken the concept of evolution and applied it so magnificently, I believe he and anyone who follows him will be on top for a long time to come. Survival of the fittest - adapt or die - Evolution.
As a side note, if I ever become famous and legendary, I hope I am remembered for white cotton panties, haikus, citrus fruit & Sharks.

(Pulgor has to get honourable mention here as well) Jade Constantine - best forum posts ever. Made me think about Eve more than anyone. SirMolle/Shrike + Discorporation - Evolution and addiction to PvP. (still need my hit!) Yuki Li, Kale Ryoko - Omerta Syndicate - general fun people - Cenn will never forget you!

Well there are more aspects than just players, fx. Soldiers trying democracy killed Curse Alliance - a council representing everybody and their grandmothers will always fail if you want to be a powerful military might.
In terms of alliace leaders, the smartest thing would be to take the leaders of the game when Exodus was introduced, before you (CCP) killed off the old alliances :)
It would be the cool thing to do.
In regards to CA you should mention: Chowdown, Tholarim, Duke Droklar, Xirtam, Foyle and Zloba/Hassis.
In terms of market tycooning etc. I think that M. Corp/Velios deserves some recognition for their remarkable leadership in the BPC trading world.
Megacorp Executives my votes is clear - Chowdown and Nebba Kenezzer from Shinra.

Lifewire - Probably the last true pirate in this game. No PvE, just PvP and the question "can we scramble it? can we kill it? can we ransom it?"
Lord Zap - his name stands for the older m0o, before it went into megacorp mode
XpoHoc - mysterius Pirate, hardly seen on the forums, made me wanting to join TDG. Master of the bald mataris.

Corp/alliance - for me i'd have to say Pie/CVA for various reasons already mentioned but also for being respectable enemies, used to fight them alot before LEGI0N moved, it was alot of fun.
CEO's - Too many to mention... there are alot of respectable and influential ceo's out there. I realise i'm biased in saying this, however, i feel as though Countessa is worthy of note. Anyone who has spoken with him or had dealings with him in the past will know my reasons why, but for those who don't it's simply because he is level headed and reasonable.
Pirate Legends - Jokers, Teddybears & Turnadragon (sp?) For me these are the most notable pirate corps out there.
There are alot of people who deserve credit in this game, unfortunatly it would take too long to name them all.

I vie for Lord Zap, never met him or was ever chased by him thru space [which was a very good thing to happen...or not happen] and his lot @ m00 corp. Only person i really did fear to run into in EvE. Saw a pic of him chasing a former corp buddy of mine tho, [shudder].

My turn!
My super sexy hall of fame for Eve!
1 - DigitalCommunist Like it or not, this man knows what is best for Eve, ingame and out. His posts have been nothing but truth. Beyond that, he's deadly with a probe.
2 - Viceroy THE pirate of Eve, make no mistake. Lovable, hate-able, you got to admit the man goes where the money is. Selfishness and ability to make things happen for himself. That is definition the future pirate.
3 - Pulgor This man might as well have invented the Ammatar. Little-to-no prime fiction from CCP, and this man has done so much from so little. He deserves something.
4 - Jade Constantine Love her or hate her, she was the Nicole Kidman of Eve in terms of celebrity status. Good posts if you had the time an paitence to read them. A great debater. And definately sparked one of the most interesting revolutionary RP moments in Eve.
5 - Golan Trevize This man made being an Amarr RP'er not just a laughable occupation. He gave 0.0 RP claws, anus raping claws of mega pulse death. The man has a certain cold, hard power you can't deny, and when pirates fear a roleplayer, you know that man means business.
6 - Wren Pheonix My old buddy from Oracle. Did the most too promote a civilized tribal heritage with his 7 Forms work. Great story teller, and a great example of how sophisticated a Minmatar can be.
7 - HellGremlin/Istvaan Shogaatsu Never mind the name. Never mind the legend. Never mind the dastardly plots and cunning execution. Never mind the dreams he raped and hopes he shattered. Never mind the alcohol and drug induced freinzies. Never mind even the stunning fiction. This man is the reason I started playing Eve, just about charmed my pants off. That's how I remember him, and I can't thank him enough. ____________________________________

Cleary Jade Constantines player which got gagged as well as anything next to banned after reaching one of the peaks in her history in Eve.
Her roleplay has had a big impact and is/was one of the reasons I and undoubtly a few dozens of other people kept playing the past 12 months.
It is a true shame that Jades player is denied to speak or appear on these boards at all anymore.
I am not allowed to discuss the why and how, nor the persons involved in her ban due to Eves Terms Of Services.
It is however allowed to express my feel of loss by not letting veteran players like her help shape this universe so we all have a reason to stay.
Be it for loving or hating the character she plays - people like her are much needed to keep this game alive.
Killing her off the slow way by removing her from these boards forever is also killing the game and its biggest jewel - player added content by roleplaying - in the long run.

I'd like to nominate two people who tend to be less vocal:
Me, Doc Brown (read my in game bio for the condensed version of the reasons)
Unleashed The one who taught me the most about PVP'ing years ago.

I nominate "Black Lotus". Out of the many good pilots in EVE that are of the "Pirate" trade as well PvP specialist. He has shown that he is one of the best by his attuide. I've met a lot of people and I try to feed off everyone I meet. For everyone has something to learn from. Black Lotus has gone beyond just advice but more or less a understanding that someday I could be great just as he is (not was). He shows total respect to the people who really show insperation. He is also one of the few in his style, that talks to you "Down to Earth" instead of acting with ego. Mad props to him and his Corp members.

I've notices a fair number of PvP pilots suggested, what's missing is alot of the PvE pilots. I'm sure there are a some pilots who have made large contributions but since they fought CCP/Eve they might be slipping through the *****s.
In this vein, I nominate:
fairimear (first pilot in the machireial)

Lots of people really but the two biggest would have to be SirMolle and Jade Constantine.
As a noob I spent a brief time serving under Molle during the Great Northern War. Truely an evil bastard on the forums, but a calm and inspiring leader ingame.
Jade is one of the best debaters and RPers ever. And even founded an ideology that I am sure CCP hadn't thought of. Even with the forum ban he kept his corp together and even started an alliance. Sadly we just didn't have the ability to get freespace into action in the big way that Jade dreamed.

Jester & Fix of Jokers - They terrorized us when we were in Fade. Perfect pirate tactics and they are on top of their game.
Smoske - for being a crazy guy always at the front of many battles in the Northern War, and for providing a great service to the Eve community - he'll be missed by many.
Jade Constantine - she had many good things to say but I'd nominate here for her uncanny ability to wind people up ;)

Perhaps I missed the posts but apart from me the only other none combat researcher I noticed nominated was Dust Puppy, the once. Surly he is famous yet no one else nominated him? Or is it a case of people use his and my research but donÆt know our names?
I donÆt know why I am so surprised at how many PvP are nominated. Anyway Thanks to the people who did nominate us none PvP people.

Mordineus and Ensidious, CEO and Military Leader respectively, of Damage Incorporated, when it was still Damage Incorporated.
These guys are less well known than most, but they helped establish FA and were reasons 1 and 2 why I have enjoyed this game so much and stuck with it for two and a half years.
I was very sorry to see them go.
To all the DI folk reading this: pay respect to your former leaders, they were great great men.
-----
Other honorable mentions, from the more esoteric side of EVE:
DigitalCommunist, not for his rampant PvP antics, but for his brilliant ideas and vision for the future of EVE.
Professor Dust Puppy of EVE University, for educating us all on the nature of the capacitor.
Pottsey, for pushing the limits of the humble Gallente Dominix, and providing us with excellent defense.
Dawnstar, for some of the best ideas ever to be totally ignored by the frequenters of the features and ideas forum.

I don't believe this is a popularity contest.
If people state a reason for why they nominate someone, it tells CCP much more than just a string of names with no explanation added.
There are several people I would nominate, but most of them had allready been nominated earlier in the thread, and honestly, I don't see a point in multiple nominations as my first sentence illustrated.

ôI don't believe this is a popularity contest.ö I agree with that and didnt mean to sound like I was trying to be popular. But it seems it is turning into a popularity contest. None or few of the people who do research and help with ships fitting who are famous and had a bit impact on lots of people are nominated. ItÆs mostly people listing friends and corp leaders they know and a lot of names without reason. There also seems to be a lot of PvP people.
I also think itÆs wrong to send emails, eve mails and ask in corp chat and chat channels for everyone to nominate 1 person. Hopefully if CCP do start adding people into the storyline because of this thread they will quickly check the chat logs of that persons corp and eve mail to check they didnÆt get everyone to nominate them. ItÆs perfectly ok to me to send out a corp mail pointing someone to this tread, but I would never say vote for me in that mail.
öIf people state a reason for why they nominate someone, it tells CCP much more than just a string of names with no explanation added. There are several people I would nominate, but most of them had allready been nominated earlier in the thread, and honestly, I don't see a point in multiple nominations as my first sentence illustrated.ö I agree reasons should be given but you should nominate someone whoÆs already been nominated. How are CCP going to know whoÆs famous and whoÆs not if everyone is just nominated once. Say if Dust Puppy is nominated 5+ times it clear he is more famous then some corp leader from a random corp thatÆs nominate once or got his friends to nominate him.

ok here goes
Halseth Durn.. for creating the great familly that is Oberon inc. for the guidence he has given. for the richness he brought to the great northern war. for showing that a computer game could have a thrilling internal political structure.
Jade Constantine... for the most posts ever :) and some very interesting conversations. for going out of his way to add diversity to an already diverse game. for being part of the best forum rivalry i have ever seen in a computer game.
DB Preacher.... for execellent combat skills, for honourable combat and being a civilised opponent in what became a very un-civilised war.
Phsycopath..... for being the first person to try and kill me. for always being civil whilst chasing me around a sysytem in my scorp, for not getting upset when he never ever caught me even though i used to fly through his regular gate camp 4 times a week.
Maud.... for getting me involved in this awesome game. for bringing together the first alliance i was ever part of.
Kronarty.. for execellent management of oberon. for pattience and guidence. for the best teamspeak impersinations or the terminator during combat missions.
Viceroy.. for sheer arrogance and inflated state of self importance, for giving that to the game at a time when everbody really hated pirates. for giving a lighter side to daylight robbery.
Ascorbious.. for the funniest late night mission ever. (he fell asleep at his computer for 4 hours and we had to fend of some serious npc spawns to stop him form losing his ship) for teaching me not to drink and fly
THE EVE PLAYER BASE.. for helping to create what to me is the greatest and most involving game i have ever had the privalege to experience.
There is no art more beautiful nor diverse than the art of death!!!

Seleene: Head of probably the most respected and successful merc corp in EVE through history. In my next life, i wanna be reincarnated to Seleenes joystick .

Dreez: Have you ever heard this dude when he just lost a frigate in a fight, or "someone" forgot to scramble a hostile battleship ... no ?. Be thankfull .
LLeBBring: Steven Speilberg, George Lucas... bahh - amateurs. LLeBBring revolutionized moviemaking in EVE and he will remain a legend within these circuts.

Well I was curious so I did some counting and I've come to an interim set of totals for the "Eve Legends" proposed and discussed on this thread. First of all I didn't count anyone proposing themselves, and I also discounted multiple mentions of the same pilot for different categories by any single proposer. (for example Digital Communist mentioned the same people several times for various types of contribution - I just counted "1" vote not multiple). Anyway, I'm only listing those people who have at least "2" votes (there are way too many singletons) and its possible I missed a vote here and there so I'm not promising 100% accurate but this will give a pretty good idea I think.
Running totals of "Eve Legends" nomination and voting so far.
Jade Constantine (PR and Propaganda/idealist/roleplaying) 29 votes Sir Molle (best scheming and evil planning/leadership) 22 votes TankCEO (pvp/piracy/being a funny guy) 21 votes Hellgremlin/Istvaan (Evil Schemes, scamming and Literature) 18 votes Shamis Orzoz (Fleet Command/CEO) 17 votes Hardin (CVA executor and PIE CEO/PR and roleplaying) 15 votes Lord Zap (leader of M0o corp, uber pirate) 15 votes Viceroy (best lawyer/ pirate frontman/voice of reason) 14 votes Tornsoul (FA Exec/leader/community services) 13 votes Digital Communist (Acerbic voice of reason on the forums) 10 votes Pulgor (JoshuaÆs rival for most corps jumped/roleplay) 10 votes Stavros (for being Stavros / almost the emperor) 9 votes Duke Droklar (influential player in CA/C4) 9 votes Cyvok (best CEO) 8 votes Ragnar Danneskjold (best hat / best archetypal big bad corporation) 7 votes Seleene (services to Fraps / moviemaking / founding merc profression) 7 votes Joshua Calvert (most corps experienced/forum presence) 6 votes Latta (created eve-I and successful CEO) 6 votes Golan Trevize (tactical brilliance sounds like Schwarzenegger on TS) 6 votes Maggot (Clear leadership and making the game fun) 5 votes Chowdown (Fleet Command) 5 votes Foyle (influential player in alliance diplomacy) 5 votes Winterblink (eve comic strip) 5 votes Trigger (leader of the SA) 5 votes Halseth Durn (politics and stirring things up/feuds roleplay) 5 votes Xirtam (influential player in alliance diplomacy) 5 votes Pottsey (Passive shield tanking) 4 votes Freewheeling (NAGA industrial excellence) 4 votes Aeryn Sun (famous SA personality/ fleet commander) 4 votes Daakkon (most homoerotic player/singing on teamspeak) 4 votes Setec (the original pirate mastermind) 4 votes Oveur (for posting on the forums) 4 votes Darth Solo (enemy of all pirates original good guy) 4 votes Jexter (super pirates in the north of eve) 4 votes Morkt Drak (running Eve Guardian at its best/roleplay) 4 votes Lallante (Fleet Command) 3 votes Entity (biggest item collection/caldari racing) 3 votes The Reverend (excellent all round fellow/pirate legend) 3 votes TomB (multiple reasons) 3 votes TWD (pvp combat excellence) 3 votes Leafo (services to Fraps / moviemaking) 3 votes Drunkenmaster (filmmaking in eve) 3 votes Zeepo (the king of eve scamming) 3 votes Sarkos (original minmatar roleplayer) 3 votes (2 vote nominations to follow)

That list is incomplete.
My CEO Nilkarus is missing with 2 nominations already, and I am going to nominate him for a third. One of the best piltos I've flown with, and an excellent fleet commander. Just watch the DNA/IMP video and you'll see what I mean. -

Ragnar, because he was the first big evil of Eve (or at least the first guy with the guts to play the role)
SirMolle, because he really turned arrogance into an artform and built an alliance to destroy everyone.
Morkt Drak, because he made a newservice that was really interesting and he played the Caldari archetype to a tee.
Seleene and Charity Regard for making Merc corps work.
Alexandra Belani for playing politics and great artwork and propaganda.
Jade Constantine for getting so many people involved in all this and setting the biggest wars ever.

I nominate Gaius Kador for teaching me pretty much everything I know about frigate and cruiser combat and for putting up with my Augoror fetish. I also nominate Shamis Orzoz and pretty much all of S******dly for some of the best combat expereience I've had to date. I should also give Dagny a mention since he got me hooked on the game in the first place though sadly he'd stopped playing himself by then. ---------------

Yuki Li and Apache by the same coin. All three for being great CEO's and even better friends.

Stavros, The Reverend and Lord Zap - obvious reasons.
Drunkenmaster - Space Invader, a pirate and an opinionated, informed and a friendly member of the community. The winning combination.
Jade Constantine - for making the universe much more real and alive. Did I mention alive? Has anyone noticed how dead it is lately?

Menod Penter - scummy loot thief, but a nice guy, friendly too. Doesn't nick your mission objectives either. Makes Rens a more interesting place to live in.

Jade Constantine -- For keeping the game alive for me when I was about to quit, and keeping such a positive attitude despite her situation. Love her or hate her, she brought about a new style of roleplay that kept this game alive, and that I wish there was more of. It's too bad there is no other way for her to speak to the communtiy the same way without the forums. It would be great to get another massive propaganda campaign going to maybe stir up the staleness that's been aroound here lately.

(In no particular order - some information is probably wrong but the question was how I was influenced...So it comes down to how I see them I've probably forgotten a few people)
Jade and Jasmine Constantine: Mainly for their politics and propaganda. Formation of Jericho Fraction and Star Fraction.
Kaleigh Doyle: Formation of the infamous Glamour Bunny Corperation and the Glamour Syndicate. Also known for her political viewpoint.
Skull HSC: From personal experience I can tell you he's a great leader...and his voice certainly carries
Admiral Golan Trevize: For being a very camp Admiral.(this definatley made an impression )
Hardin: Second for spin after Jade Constantine. Current CEO of PIE. Possibly founder of CVA...
Istavaan Shogatsu: Most known for causing controversy being behind a heist and assasination and writing damn good fiction.
Hamish: Being mentioned in said fiction.
Arenis Xemdal: Carrying out said heist and assasination.
Mirial: Being recipiant of said heist and assasination.
Adrielle Firewalker: Formation of Amarr Will Eat Itself corporation, People's Republic of Minmatar and Ushra'Khan. (haha you got mentioned )
Pulgor: For being an Ammatar in public.
Pacal Balan: Minmatar have their religious zealots too, and this man was at the head of most of it.
Al Haquis: For being the quintessential Minmatar.
Maggot: Formation of Freelance Unincoperated Corporation and Friends of Matar. Current executor of Ushra'Khan.
Xirtram VOTF: Formation of Vengence of the Fallen and founder member of Curse Alliance. Dark Lord of Curse (or Pator)
Foyle: Known as the Dark Queen of Curse, later formed Force of Evil alliance.
Lord Zap and Stavros: Infamous pirates from infamous m0o corp.
Tank CEO: Founder of m3g4 corp and later biomass cartel.
Nirvy: Being a one man army against a corporation and winning.
Russo: For being insane and controversal. (being...civil...) Formation of AMAX corporation.
Myadra: The face of the Blood Inquisition.
DJ Doby: Not a leader, but definatley a legend
...Hope I wasn't supposed to nominate just one
(Incindentally, as far as influencing goes, Morkt Drak helped me with my miner2 blueprint, Jash Illian built my first battleship, Mk Ultra and Jus2Awesome taught me pirates aren't scary, Psychopath[/b] taught me they were.)

Edited by: Dust Puppy on 02/07/2005 10:20:05 There are of course a lot of people worthy of a mention here but I¦m only naming a few.
Jade Constantine - Love her or hate her she makes this game interesting with her political propaganda and as far as I've heard she was a big factor for the GNW.
Halseth Durn - It takes two to tango
Morning Maniac - Running probably the only or at the very least most famous non profit organization in game and does it well.
The Blades - Could really name anyone there, nice chaps all willing to take up the good fight. The guys in charge deserve a special mention Raven DeBlade and Mindblank.
Pottsey - For thinking outside the box.
Winterblink - For his fantastic comic.
Joshua Calvert - At the very least for his l33t forum whoring ability .
Rod Blaine - For always being right
m0o - They get a special mention for making grown men wet themselves, probably Lord Zap deserves a special mention.
Space Invader - Being the "nice" pirates from the beginning. Setec was according to many people the most cunning commander the game has ever had. Viceroy ends every event by killing the GM .
I'm gonna stop here but could go on for quite a while.
Edit: Forgot about one.
Islay - Creator of Character Manager and the Ship Fitting tool. _________________

Seeing as love is being spread quite liberally over here, ill add a few more to my list who have influenced me.
Istvaan Shogatsu - Sneaky down low arrogant and loves himself, derides anyone who is not up to par or who hasnt giving him a kicking in the past. Feeding the ego, but you cant deny, the man can write damn good fiction (and chronicles). Influenced me in the fact that when i write i try to be as good as him and fail miserably, but its something to aim for. Also cant help the feeling that if i met him in RL i would probably like him. He is part of the old timers club of EVE, those who existed way before I came to this game and walk around in zimmers talking about how great they are. You gotta love em to death. (tell me about Thundercloud)
Viceroy - Another member of the old timer zimmer club. But everytime I read his vision of how EVE should be I cant help agreeing. Im not a pirate, im one of those cretinous 'rarr freedom fighter' isty mentioned, but man, more danger is better.
CCP Hammerhead - For giving me the means to bring death and destruction to our foes. Who secretly wants to be out there blowing slavers up with us.
Gnauton and CCP Event team - For making eve grittier and dirtier and bringing much love to the story line and events. Oh and that artist for putting slaver heads on spikes and drawing damn good nasty arse pics.
Aurora - yeah, they get a lot of stick. But there volunteers, who give their time to try to make our game more interesting. And ive been involved in nasty events, but ive also been involved in great ones that leave us wanting more.
Al Haquis - This man is a legend. Flying a fleet lead by the Al is an experience no one will ever forget, the man is so passionate about EVE and our section of it it hurts. He's fun and he's changed my EVE experience all for the better.
Gaius Kador - The eptimome of Evil Amarrian. But a bloody nice bloke underneath. I wish he'd post more to be quite honest.
Hardin - Yeah, we all love the chin with the spin (sorry mate ), keeps those CVA people in line and fighting. Spins more yarns that ive had hot dinners.
Darius - for helping me to write stories that ive had fun writing, and for guiding me in that.
Archbishop - For his great posts on the summit.
Sforza - For being a great fleet leader, for giving me ships and then laughing when I lose them in the most atrocious ways. For joining fleets i lead even though 90% of the time he leaves them in a pod. For joining FU2 along with the rest of the VBS lads and making FU2 and even greater place.
Now, i think thats enough love for now. Theres loads more of course, but you can never list em all who have influenced you. -

This I can answer.
Wahpekute "Thundercloud" Assiniboine was one of the very few Minmatars early in Eve's exsistance, along with Vasdenjas "theDeviant" Bokor, that explored the other various possibilities of the Minmatar psyche, not just the freedom fight. Vas was the Chairman of the board in the Endless Corporation at one point, and Wahp explored things like interracial love (his unfinished story "Love can set you free" down near the bottom of the library here), betrayal, and things of that nature. TC once said that the freedom fight should not be the central obsession of a good Minmatar RP character.
Pretty much, he took his character Wahp, and ouright tortured and mutilated him with no sympathy, rather than cuddled and protected. While everyone usually protected their character and image, TC was going out of his way to sink Wahp further into Hell. One of the most interesting Minmatar characters I ever knew. Current Minmatar RP players say their characters have issues, but TC's Wahpekute had malicious haunting freak demons.
He also was a damn good writer too, on par with HG here. Co-wrote that one story long ago, "Reclamation", with people from Endless and Sabaoth. Pushed fo a lot of collaborative fiction between the rp factions/races. It was a great achievement, sadly one that hasn't been seen since. Probbably because people are extremely protective of their characters, and bear to see them go though the kinda changes, victories, and failures TC was happy and willing to put Wahp and his side through.
The character Wahpekute is still alive, you can read about him in the Hamish Saga, as a nod to his contribution, and because he's a great antagonist to Istvaan. As for the man behind Wahpekute, TC, he may be around. More than likely off somewhere reinventing himself.
Drop a line TC, we miss yah. ____________________________________

Well, I guess I've been away for so long I and my DUI racing stuff's been forgotten to the mists of Eve...well DUI's dead anyway so that's okay...
Anyways, I nominate the following:
Kaleigh Doyle: For proving that Gallente women are the sexiest women of Eve right next to the Minmatar Sebiestor ladies.
Charity Regard: For creating my fabbo signature for the forums and being a great gal all round
Freewheeling/Tzadkiel: Best damned businessman I ever met. Big thanks for all those donations for DUI prizes as well.
Shar Tegral: For being there with the news stories and taking on all that heat from the Minmatars on Eve-Guardian.
Jera: The epitomy of Caldari nationalism (at least while I was around)
These are the ones I can remember from my old days. Only just came back a day or two ago so I dunno if some are gone, but big thanks for making my Eve-life memorable back then. Now time to start again... ---------------------------

Ender Hawks Great guy, will be missed Eneroth My favourite Swede Killza Old school player, podded me then recruited me into M3G4 Warhound Flew with him to the amarr championship finals sara kerrigan Another amarr championship wingman TomB The most loved and hated person in eve Vegeta TankCEO's favourite person.. lol Darth Solo My favourite good guy Jim Raynor Always made interesting and constructive posts about game balancing Narayan Diesel Another old school guy name was changed to Gunn Diesel, and account sold Altai Saker Not and old school player but a great guy to fly with and good to have on TS Gonzo Anyone who ever had this guy on TS... lol.. just lol.
ThatÆs all the people I can think of, I know IÆve left out a lot of people, but these names above me imho have made EVE the game it is today, mostly for me, but some have changed the course of the game, I like to think that everybody in eve plays a small part in making the game what it is today the legends and the noobs alike, thatÆs probably what keeps bringing me back to eve, and what makes it such a unique game.

Malken - never, ever start to argue with him!
Light Darkness - for having a kickass month full of very good fleetbattles against him and his crew, he's a good leader and a skilled pilot as well.
Red Alliance - had fought one fleetbattle on their side. We were outnumbered and weren't on the same TS but still kicked the invadors out of the system with very uncoordinated attacks. Nice guys. Also great enemys back in the CA days: they fought us outnumbered and we did pretty bad against them.

Okay running totals time again. I've taken the new votes into account, corrected some errors and constructed a top 40 of the Eve online famous leaders and personalities over the past two years. I also removed all the devs and mods from the list because it seemed Oveur was after player pilots in particular.

lol was trying to think of what other things you do aside from the warp drive active comic Winterblink. "forum personality" is a nice catch all. To be honest I'm glad I'm not in the list or someone would end up writing "Jasmine Constantine" - "services to npc hunting and very occasional spats of megathron violence"

The best kind of violence indeed. As for what else I do, feel free to check out that other link in my sig.

I made a small edit and called it "modern merc profession" - if you are honest about it, Seleene and Charity Regard really did effectively found the merc profession in the latter period of the game. Before Bodycount and Sharks there might have been incidental mercs but they really had poor public representation and a lacked a professional appeal. People hired combat corps sure, but it was never the case you had a list of merc professionals to eve-mail on the crime and punishment forum to pick from.
In that regard I definately believe that Seleene and Charity deserve the reputation of founding the "modern" merc profession and I believe its directly because of their initiative and example that the mercenary corps exist in eve the way they do today.
Lets face it, before Bodycount and Sharks you couldn't take out a contract, expect it to be well served, and then have the mercs make a top notch video showing the action while providing the client with a detailed list of kills and damage caused could you?
If you look back on this forum for the BDCI + Sharks contract vs the Merchant Marines you'll see both a triumph of moviemaking and the first expression of a mature merc profession at work.
That video is a storefront for mercenary professionals, before that Eve literally had nothing like it.
Hence I think it was a deserved title for Seleene and a shame in a way that Charity hasn't had as many votes to be jointly recognised for it also.
Any this is all my opinion and I'm nobody special but everyone's aloud to speak their minds right ?

My Vote goes to the now dead JQA Alliance, Reason (s): One of first official Alliance's in Eve. Fought against Supremacy ending in some of the largest fleet engagements seen in EvE to date. First Official Alliance to crumble under the forces of Supremacy and dissapear into the mists of time.

Edited by: Beringe on 26/07/2005 00:05:21 Archain - the original filmmaker
drunkenmaster - forum personality and space invader CEO after Setec (I actually remember when he joined the dark side...that makes me old)
All the mapmakers. There was a map long before it got stickied on the forums. Sadly, I can't easily recall the names of the pioneers.
Fist - it's only fair to mention him, if Jexter is going to be mentioned.
Miso - forum personality and founder of several corporations.
Molly - Forum personality, pirate-hater and then a very high-profile pirate.
Russian - leader of The Gang, arguably the first ransom-style pirates (Space Invaders were probably around at the same time, but Setec flew solo in those days, I think).
Zarquon Beeblebrox - I should have mentioned her sooner. Best pirate ever.
Crisis - one of the old JQA leaders, who eventually had the burden and responsibility to disband the alliance. Mature and strong leader.
Datselvu - (ex?) CEO of Techell, one of the industrial giants of the pre-Exodus era. Bought a region from m0o.
Leafo - Master filmmaker. Made the Battle for Venal (part I) (amongst other things), possibly the best EVE video ever made. Member of Rona since forever.
LLeBRing - Master filmmaker, mercenary and forum personality.
Ifni - we at Raptus will always love you . Bad pirate person. ------------------------------------------- "My main griveance with the Caldari state was that once I had finished my work for them, they wanted me dead."

Hello folks... I just like to nominate one person too keep it short (ha!), I belive he has had a significant impact on a fair few people over the years however I belive he has had most on me. His name is Ti Jin and he has been with EVE since the begining,he is my CEO and has kept me playing this game and under this corporation since I signed up over a year and a half ago. He has kept many people busy ( including you GM's im sure know his name quiet well in the petition section ) doing everything from shooting the bad guys to endless mining and industrial work, an all round person. Ti Jin is very, shall we say involved and sometimes I wander if he takes it more seriosly than RL ( RL whats that? ) but I dont think he has done anything that stole the spotlight, which is why I doubt many of you will know him, he has been in the background busy at work

There are alot of people in EVE who have been important to me. I will list a few in no real order, just as they come to mind.
Khaldorn...never quits...almost as good a forum warrior as he is a pilot :)
Gaius Kador and Golan Trevize, both amazing roleplayers, both amazing pilots, both amazing people. They have entertained me so much on the forums and in space...EVE wouldnt be the same without them.
a dozen cookie cutter minmatar pilots...I say this because they all seem to say the same things and do the same things... "You lick PIE boots, you must die" and they try to kill me whenever possible. This includes hakera, al haquis, ...anyone in the UK alliance really.
Hardin and Jade constantine...masters of propaganda and spin. Truth means nothing when they are at it. Right and wrong becomes relative... At that point God is out of the picture. Religion is about absolute rights and wrong, good and evil...and they have a way of erasing that. I am positive they are not men of faith in real life.
Garreck...he got me started in EVE, though he has made me want to pull my hair out sometimes.
Graelyn...this man eats and drinks drama, he must be an actor.
Mirial...cunning...I am convinced she would also eat her own young.
Ardor and Deathwing....those guys are awesome Amarr and I wish I could work with them in game...but they would rather die than work with caldari :)
Flotwell and Xardrix, both awesome pilots and friends...they truly embody the AMAX spirit and soul....crazy and dangerous.
Shamir Soza, doesnt get to log on much with the kids around, but always excellent advice.
Guiding Hand Social Club...its not my place to judge. But people who delight in doing evil...they go to hell. It says that in proverbs. In real life, I think they worked for ENRON.
Thats about it. Also, the person than mentioned me didnt write me in for my character story...what gives, thats damn good I thought! Anyone can read my stories on this out dated AMAX site, http://www.amarria-auxilia.com/
Thanks to everyone who makes EVE what it is, love or hate, it wouldnt be the same without you.
I know I am leaving alot of good guys from CVA and other corps out...but you guys are religious, youre supposed to be humble anyways :) Ethi

My Vote
Swisher - I had just lost my first BS to a level 4 pre-patch and was dead broke. I wandered out to low sec with a hauler, a thorax, five Miner IIs and a book. I knew the risks. Being nicknamed "Sharkbait" by the remainder of the corp, I expected a visit at somepoint from the local pirates. Swisher shows up in local, asks me why i'm there, so I tell him why, without any tears, cos "sheet happens" and ships get lost on missions.... so he transfers 2 mill to my wallet to help me back on my way to a BS. Now that is cool - a pirtae investing some of his Isk into his eventual PvP target!
Swisher 2 - He knicked a POS structure..............
Pottsey - for allowing me freedom to think up some fairly odd setups and have the gonads to try it out anyway!

Influence: Darth Solo
When I started playing EVE I wanted to be a trader or production type chap, this was all good and well, but I was missing something.
I heard of Celestial Apocalyspe and thought I'd try and get in there. After speaking with Darth Solo, my new career path was set. So Darth Solo changed my outlook off EVE, as well as many others in the corp.
PVP: Curse Alliance (sorry chose an alliance as no single player or corp stands out)
This was my first taste of 0.0 and Fleet battles, most of the fighting was clean mannered with some light smack. CA always got the numbers which wasn't suprising as we were in their home land.
Seriously some of the best battles I've been in.
Corporation: MLM
Always fighting the losing battle and sticking to it. Slothe summed it up for me, "it's a bit like CS some people swap teams after two rounds to join the winning side. While others stick it out to try and make a difference."
Same principals as CELES.
Forums: Jade Constantine
Jade's forum posts were something to behold, she has the power of words to help her.
Amusing to read and more amusing to watch the time bomb that was to follow.
Trading: NAGA
Although not the cheapest, they certainly go about their business in the right way. Which leaves the little men in their wake.
General: Everyone
Without the miners, traders, industrialists, theifs, scammers, fighters and... well every profession... EVE wouldn't be what it is today.
The fun, the smack and the people is what makes EVE what type of game it is. A universe free for all to do as you wish. Fecking A :)

Jade Constantine
Because a MMORPG is only as interesting as its player base. People don't play EvE for 2+ years because of the innovative game mechanics or battle system. Those will always get stale; something better will always come along.
Jade Constantine did a lot for the game in the past, and kept a lot of people interested in Eve. CCP owes her. I do not understand why she is still banned from this forum, which was the primary outlet for her magnificent politics and PR.
I would also like to give a honorable mention to the rest of the RP community (such as PIE, U'K, even Istvaan and his crew), without which this game would be just another dried up, boring MMO space sim. You guys keep the game fresh and interesting.

Edited by: DB Preacher on 18/08/2005 16:42:05 hmm, difficult to write this list without it looking like a circle jerk but that's only coz I hang with the big eve cheeses :/
However, as we are talking Legends INgame and not forum *****s...
Shrike: Been killing alliances and corps from before the time I started playing.
Jade Constantine: Influencial leader of the NVA.
Xirtam: Brought CA to the peak of being the biggest and best alliance in the game.
Blacklight & Galavet: Dragged thier corps (BNC & RKK) into becoming two of the top corps in the game and have killed/created almost more alliances than anyone else in-game.
Darth Solo: For keeping pirates on their toes for his whole time in eve.
Stavr0s/Reverand/Sassinak/TankCEO: For originally being the worst case scenario for anyone trying to access 0.0 space.
Hardin: For creating an RP'ers wet dream and standing by that.
Morkt Drakt: For being the first proper Eve Entrepreneur.
TWD: For being the best PvP'er in the Game.
Trigger: For being the quiet blue smurf behind the longest standing alliance in the game.
There are probably a ton of industrialists that I have missed who have achieved amazing things in-game but I simply do not know about them because I don't keep up to date with those circles I'm afraid.

"I gather you here for an informal location to nominate the pilot or pilots which have influenced you the most in the history of EVE."
OK am not really sure how to read that influence thing ^^;; so will settle for listing those i'd blame for affecting my view on what the EVE world is like (ok so that makes as much sense as the original request... oh well)
* Istvaan Shogaatsu -- Istvaan's stories painted the base of what to expect in EVE, even before actually logging in... and what he pulls off in game comes about as close to some of these stories as one can get, given game mechanics and their limitations.
* Jade Constantine -- through both in-game politics and the forums Jade had hand in creating large chunks of EVE storyline that had (and still have) real effect on game experience of more players than possibly all official 'events' combined. It's a pity we're all denied more of this... EVE is not better place with the game conflicts dumbed down to "ohnoes, you didn't set my enemy to -10 standings", and squabbling over accuracy of killboards and who blobs more.
* Ragnar -- in the world of mostly bland industrial corporations, Ragnar and TTI stood out... for good and for bad. I see them as embodiment of what EVE mega-corporation, and the CEO of such might be like.
* Setec and drunkenmaster -- Setec is attributed with creation of "highway robbery" type of EVE piracy; drunkenmaster pretty much was "gentleman pirate" incarnate -- smart, polite but deadly, with sense of humour and ore-thief ex-wife :s (bonus points for popularizing together with Archain the art of EVE movies)
* Tank CEO -- if there's such thing as "typical pirate" in EVE, then they'd be like Tank CEO... someone for EVE mothers to scare their kids with when they refuse to go to bed, and for their husbands to mock (behind his back) when they get drunk and daring on the guys' nights out.
* Morkt Drakt -- Caldari businessman and journalist, another EVE archetype.
* Sarkos and Hardin -- two sides of the same coin, providing human face for the struggle between Amarr and Minmatar. (i should really name quite a few members from their respective corporations here, but trying to keep it brief :/
(which is the same reason i can't list anyone from m0o or Evolution here... can't really name any of them without doing injustice to others, and there's too many of them to list all)
... and on this note, i'll draw the line. Because while there's tons more people i'd love to mention, if am to be honest with myself, i'd like to list them because i like them, admire them or both. or whatnot. They're the biggest reason i played this game and still play it, but am too biased towards them to reasonably decide if they should be included here >.<;;
(not that it doesn't apply to most of these i actually listed... ;s

II'd like to nominate an NPC. Taisu Magdesh. If you could spawn him and deliver this message, I would be very grateful.
Dear Taisu, Your secret complex ate my two Scorpions. Your secret complex ate my two Ishtars. You took 400 million ISK out of my hide, but I didn't give up and I took two billion out of yours. You taught me to use the scanner and then to use scanning probes because your complex was in the middle of nowhere. You taught me all the tricks I know about tanking by having the most sadistically set up complex entrance I've ever seen (I mean seriously, who has 30 elite frigates with missiles attack and web you as you enter?). More importantly, your constant destruction of my ships gave me the push I needed to get into a Deimos, in which I showed up at your doorstep once a day for a month, had a cup of tea and asked you ever so politely to hand over your dogtag. You made me a rich man, Taisu. You gave me enough money to do what I've always wanted to do - set up my own space stations. More importantly, you made it so that I didn't have to mine any more. P.S. Steal a titan, apparantly it's really easy.
Yours Sincerely, Nyphur. --CEO Pillowsoft, member of the Interstellar Starbase Syndicate.

Edited by: Bad Harlequin on 07/09/2005 20:50:40 Sarkos, our accidental CEO, and all at Oracle. Made me give up the idea of my "freelance researcher / reverse engineer" way before release and join the freedom fight (and a darn good thing too, eh? )
Discorporation for being the first kindred lunatic I found on these boards.
Hardin and crew for obvious reasons. Without them there is no us.
Jade Constantine for trying to teach pigs to sing.
Dishonorable mention to the whiny bastard(s) and/or twit(s) that got her permabanned. What you should be doing is getting down on your knees and thanking her for goosing a whole bunch of people into activity during some *very* dry times content-wise. Without her, a whole lot more people maybe woulda realized how much was broken and missing and might have given up entirely on EvE before it really revved up. More than that, it is disturbing to see how many people must burst into tears and cry because they can't distinguish fantasy from reality.
I look around the boards and see much of the same useless, whiny trashtalking and bragging and BS as ever, if not more sure, but Jade's the one that gets banned. Sure. Right. Okay. This is why i don't bother with the forums any more and doubt I ever will, since succeeding in one's chosen role spectacularly seems to be rewarded with a ban.
A big salute to those who bravely stagger on anyway: Pulgor, the anti-me, only other Ammatar i've ever met; the CVA and U'K; all the new folks i've not yet who jump into the ring ingame who recognize the boards for the amusing sideshow that it is; and lastly, a confession. I kinda miss Jash Illian. Okay? I said it, all right?
edit: for purely selfish reasons i have to nominate Oveur and Orestes, for always checking out my silly library posts and ... i hesitate to call it 'poetry' . thanks, guys.

Darwin Long time Wingman and friend, no longer plays eve (account sold) Number One Another long time friend, account has gone, he know plays at BrotherDeath TankCEO Cut my teeth with this guy, pirated a lot with him back in the day.
I'm honored that you remembered me ;) That had to be years ago heh.

Randuin MaraL - for introducing me partialy to RP and listening to my brabbeling about incarnating RP more into programmed gameplay as well as following this hosting the RP Sumnit. And being one of the reasons for joining the PRM.
Wren - for giving my lazy butt concerning RP a kick into the right direction. (Though it didn't help in the end. )

Since it seems we're still going at this, I'll throw in my two cents too. I'm pretty sure only half of the influential people are people perceived to be influential, mainly due to the fact that so much goes on behind the scenes.
But I'll nominate Temujin Destovai and Friday Dilinja (both have left now) for playing an awful lot behind the scenes, and pulling an immense amount of strings that most didn't know they pulled. And while they also had some presence on the forums, at least they had class. They didn't post unless they knew they could win an argument.
And of course Molle for tipping the balance in Eve on numerous occassions. Truely an evil schemer.
Morkt Drak deserves a nomination for influencing a lot of peoples' opinions trough Eve Guardian, and for being the first (to my knowledge) to be podded with a full set of +4 implants.
Setec for being the true highwayman, someone any pirate should aspire to be like. Too bad he went fishing.
Halseth Durn for his longtime leadership of the north through changing incarnations.
Temistokles for being the most loyal player in Eve. He's like a little puppet. If everybody was like him, Eve would only have 10 corps.
Of course the very first incarnation of m0o who were feared everywhere and got a mention in an agent mission. And got the GM's out of the closet. And tons of other things. Generally using borderline game mechanics to their advantage. Very good at finding Eve's weak spots.
There are a load more, but it's early and I have stuff to do.

EVE players that matter to/have had impact on, me.

Gigo & Jocca Quinn - For their great organisational skills in regards to Industry & Mining. The Ore must flow!
Randuin Maral - For founding my corp. For being there when I needed him. For his great Role-playing and mentoring to many Minmatar pilots.
Brother HB - For being a friend/mentor and making me think & laugh. For his uber trading skills and for being around and knowing stuff.
Maggot & Khaldorn Murino - For helping to keep Minmatar RP alive, and for being very friendly and generally cool guys.

Well, as much as I would like to nominate myself for being that uber sexy, Minmatar/Caldari crossbreed I am, I wont. Instead I will nominate those that have influenced me from what I have watched as well as what I have read.
Much of the content of todays EVE comes from the people involved in the Amarr/Minmatar slavery issue. As such, I wish to nominate:
Hardin, Golan, Tharrn and the rest of those Amarr heroes. Maggot, Sarkos, Khaldorn Murino and the rest of the Minmatar heroes.
Archbishop for being the 'Emperor Palpatine' of PIE Bad Harlequin for his sheer amusement abilities
Jade Constantine. I've gone back and read a lot of her posts, simply amazing.
Istvaan Shogotsu. I know he's watching and if I don't mention him, I fear for my holdings. :)
Graelyn of The Aeternus Crusade for trying to stay out of radar sight and having the guts to RP and fight while in the shadow of the great PIE/CVA.
Torn Soul for being a brilliant Caldari bussiness person.
All the DEV's for putting up with us players
CCP for the BEST game out there
If you want it, I can get it.......for a price.

Blacklight - Alliance & Corp Leadership, Fleet Commanding, Diplomacy and generally having more convo's open at anyone time than the rest of Eve put together. Exactly how many forms of communication can you use at once?
SirMolle / Shrike - Like Blacklight but with RoboCop's voice. Generally always has his finger on the pulse of Eve politics, great leadership.
Galavet - The third BoB CEO nomination. Good american chap running a British chav corp, I really don't know how you do it!
DB Preacher - Great fleet commander and really (with Shrike) pushed the victory through in the GNW. His determination almost single handedly shaped North - I tip my hat!
Cell Satimo - He has his fingers in just about every pie in the Galaxy, if you bought something or even docked somewhere, then Cell was probably involved in some way.

Nilkarus - He definetly deserves more than an honorable mention. One of the best PvPers I have ever run into. His policies on smacktalk and forum whoring kept DNA out of the limelight, but also made it, by far, the most honorable and respected Pirate corporation in the game. His tactical prowess and winning streak, on the other hand, is what makes him a Pirate Legend. ------------------------------------------- :O |

Here's my list of people who for me raised EVE to a new level.
Most facts recalled from my (very poor) memory so don't start flaming if you are offended by some blatant mistake or whatever.
Community Service
Chribba - someone with too much bandwith
Dancer & Kreischweide - building a fansite rivalling CCP's own
drunkenmaster, Leafo, LLebring, LoxyRider, MAXSuicide - producers of gigabytes worth of pwnage.
Dust Puppy - discovering the order of math behind the chaos of EVE
HellGremlin - many envision the world of EVE according to some of his fantasies
Faithless - trendsetter of the "personalized corp signature with cool slogan for every member"
Ganja - allowed us to search EVE's database for intel and hidded treasures
Gluk - "how to solo level 4 agents with a raven for dummies"
Morkt Drakt - reporter of EVE's dirty politics
Quarath, DP Mephisto, Kalshrith, Righteous Fury, Joshua Foiritain - alliance cartographers
Smoske - providing a place to dump all those killmails (and then sadly passing away leaving the community in shock)
Vegeta & Paddyman - explaining PvP to the idiot mob
WildCard - giving thousands of players the "If only EVE would really be like that"-feel
Winterblink - showing the game in a cartoon mirror
Shining Personalities
Bad'Boy - Eve's rebel
Daniel Jackson - EVE's funny guy
Homo Erectus - SMACKTALKER
Ikvar - look at me! look at me!
Jim Raynor - biggest Raven fanboy
Leno - compulsive corphopper
Ragnar - megalomaniac with god-complex
Stavros - EVE's badboy (moved to WoW, so his 'image' is now in pieces ofcourse)
Stradivarious - compulsive sniper
Verone - EVE's rolemodel pirate
Ingame Archievements
CYVOK - first person actually requiring Empire Control at level 2 and still running a tight ship
Datsevlu - brilliant industrial powerplayer behind Techell (until he gave his account to the corrupt Webmaster)
darth solo - pirate crusader (one appearently becomes evil by fighting evil)
Dr Scope - dominating the T2 BPO auctions, seemingly thinking it's like Pokemon: "collect them all!"
Ecliptical - winner of the Amarr succession contest and owner of two of the rarest ships ingame
Freewheeler (+rest of NAGA) - T2 production with efficiency, integrity and a smart businessplan
Hanns - The CEO that managed to get ripped off and deserted by pretty much his entire corp
Hinik - amazing spacegraffiti artist with secure cans instead of spray cans
Istvaan Shogaatsu (aka HG) - evil corptheft mastermind
j0rt - first battleship pilot
Kayosoni & Enslaver - alt-army generals
Rawthorm - setting a new standard for PvP-ing with expensive ships
Pottsey - inventor of the passive shieldtank confusing even devs with his calculations
Riddari - the coolest farewell to the community and then coming back
Sassinak - inventor of the Gankageddon
Script, Stan, Thol, Hue and Noobious - showing that FCs are the true source of a corp's PvP strength
Seleene - the messiah of mercenaries, giving them honour and targets
Setec - godfather of honourable piracy (back when that was a lot more easy)
s0cks & Omri - frigate mercenary madness, showing the power of alts in frigs
Tenaj and Vogon - oretheft pioneers showing orethieves can be 'cool'
TornSoul - taxing people who don't understand chance mathematics (in other worlds: the lottery)
Tyrrax Thork - making a shiptype effectively extinct in the game and enjoying it
TWD - inventor of the oversized AB maller (and using it to massacre all that stood in his way) |

PapaSmurf - the guy responsible for the biggest cash influx in the game
t20 - still 'searching' for the forum's most desperately needed feature
TomB - the guy with the nerfbat but also with a lack of aim and subtlety
Valar - most alien-like avatar (or just a victim of a horrible waterboiler accident)
Wrangler - moderator feared by players and lesser mods alike

FLEET COMMANDERS: Skull HsC-Good friend and BEST DAMN PILOT AND FLEET COMMANDER! there IS no one better! I have flown with him for 2 years and I have seen him do some crazy stuff!
EternalDark-good friend also and never lost a ship flying with him.
Chowdown-Great pilot Great CEO and Great F.C and good friend also.
BEST CEO XirtamVOTF-he takes care of his people and stands by them!
Best Pirate/Pirates-With out a doubt the old school m0o. The Corp that changed the course of the game by their actions.
XpoHoc-If it wasn't for him popping my Capsule Cherry I would never have joined Black Omega Sec and the Curse Alliance! Because of him I had the best gaming exp of my life! thanks bro.
Tank CEO-Enough Said.
Best Corp-Old School Black Omega Security. The pride of the Curse Alliance....we never backed down and we never gave up. And the only corp to be mentioned in an Eve Chronical. Stronghold and Omega Corp Celestial Apoc
Best Pilots/Friends and Enemys There are alot of great pilots that I have flown against and flown with. Some that come to mind here are some that come to mind: All of the Omega Corp boys(Thol is my number 1 h00ker!)Old School Everlasting Vendetta-you all know who you are! Shamis from Sn!ggerdly the second guy to kill my capsule! Semp Tyrell Corp-Good guy and good friend..he and I had some great 1v1's Uzeal from tyrell because he was my first 1v1 friggy fight. Captain Hindgrinder-good friend...sure miss him. Sarkos and Leyla(original)Both great Alliance leaders! I would have followed them to the ends of the universe. All of the old school Curse Alliance Name another Alliance that took on all of Eve and won. We had 6 wars going at one time and still came out on top. HOMO ERECTUS-once he and I got through the smack wars we had some great times as enemy's I have alot of respect for him. He and all of Evolution had some great "Tactics" and "Inovative" ideas on how to PvP(Tivian 2W-0L vs Evol)
Most usless twit-Jade Constantine. Anytime I would read his posts my eyes would bleed! No one else could drone on and on and on about nothing! he was an easy kill too!
Worst Faction in Eve-By far the Angels. I have lost more ships to this faction then any alliance or person or faction. I HATE THEM!
I can think of soo many other players and corps that should be up here. but I think I have said enough.
Lastly my PvP mentor-Karnah-When he left the game it was a HUGE loss. This guy was a great teacher/fleet Commander and friend.

The first person in Eve to do me a favor as I was a noob, a man that gives great advice and an honourable Pirate.
Before you ask, Im not a pirate or really a carebear but a little of both much to the annoyance of my corp.
Maybe I should get off the damn fence and pick a side huh?
Oh and Pottsey for sure as I had to sit down and work out the figures for myself after I had read a few passive tank setups. If you are reading this Pottsey, I admire the way you think... twisted like a corkscrew.

Moo corp, the first moment I set foot in Eve-o space I was scared to death that someone from this corp would turn up and gank me, (was a noob at some point).
Spacerats, for teaching me that Pvp can mean something in this game, and Ore thieves (with kaspari) for giving me a good laugh when he started to whine. Cheese m8?

QFT right here.
Back when I was even more of a newb, i've evolved slightly after getting podded many times by bored people in BS' , the help i received in the rookie channel was invaluable. As far as i'm concerned, anyone who has the patience to sit in that channel day in and day out assisting new comers is worthy of very high praise indeed.

I'd have to start the list with my mentor who disappeared to have and raise a kid (and somehow he stopped playing) Baldrek. He formed the corporation who's core members turned after two years into the huge Fated corp that now sells alot of stuff and was rated the 4th biggest industrial corp in EVE. Another great pilot would have to be JOPPY who's been somewhat of a legend amongst the people I've played with, as heavily skilled as the heaviest minds out there, he is about the informative player I've ever known in eve, and one of the funnest as well, always being there for a chat. He's often made playing more fun than it could've been. Ratchet Darkblade is last but not least, my current CEO and friend almost since i started. -nove

I missed this topic during my temporary absence from the game and am amazed at all the people who nominated me. I don't really think I am deserving of it but thanks anyway...
I have made the following list of my own 'list of legends'
Legends for various reasons
1) Drunkenmaster & Viceroy - They added so much to the game and gave m my first introduction to PvP.
2) Istavaan / Hellgremlin - Writes great stories and creates them too. Evil genius.
3) Discoporation - The original (and still the best) Amarr bad boy
4) Jade Constantime - Writes amazingly long and confusing forum posts and spreads chaos in her wake. There is no doubt she has had a major impact in the politics of EVE - particularly in its formative years
5) Halseth Durn - Have to mention him if I mention Jade don't I? Amazing consistency and has played a huge role in EVE politics
6) Miso - Not sure how many remember her now but she had a huge impact on the forums during the formative months of EVE and also founded 'Sharks with Frickin' Laser Beams' - I still have her corpse which she gave me a a gift a treasured memory of a more innocent time
7) Joshua Calvert - Forum ***** and nice guy
8) j0sephine - knows it all (and I dont mean that in a bad way)
9) Omber Zombie - General nice guy (for an Aussie)
10) Darth Solo - Always at the centre of something cool
11) Tyraxx Thorkk - A strange chap in many ways but also a lot of fun. Has fingers in every EVE event. I came remember reading about him taking out his unique and priceless ship to fight m0o and going down fighting Great Leaders
1) Trigger - Fantastic guy, great diplomat and I am truly saddened by the way he seemingly is being treated by his own alliance these days.
2) Tornsoul - Amazingly innovative. BIG's various initiatives have added much content to the game...
3) Sir Molle - Haven't had much direct dealings with him but in those I have have been amazingly impressed by his authority and command. Unde rhis leaderhip Evolution have been one of the movers and shakers of the EVE universe since the outset.
Various pirates and bad guys
1) Lord Zapp - Never really got into a scrap with this guy but had a few verbal exchanges - loved the fact that he actually made a death threat against me at one stage He along with Stavr0s played a critical role in making m0o the awesome force that it was
2) Stavr0s - as above
3) Tank CEO - became EVE's biggest ever bad guy. Had fun chasing him around Sraum back when it was still low sec.
4) Shamiz Orzoz & Verone - Linked them because they were in the same corp When I first came across them. I have amazing respect for them as pilots. S******edly in my eyes have taken over the original 'bad but nice' mantle that was created originally in Space Invaders by Drunkenmaster & Viceroy. Snigg are still causing chaos and outrage and Veron has turned in forum whoe extraordinaire.
Contributions to EVE
1) Chribba - EVE Search - EVE Files - what else is there to say - Fantastic
2) Winterblink - Bringing humour into the game
3) Morkt Drak - Love him or hate him EVE Guardian was always an interesting read and cause of debate
4) Tripoli - took over my mantle as the skills advisor to generations of noobs
Old adversaries
Einheriar Ulrich - The funniest Minmatar in existence... Great fighter and a tough enemy back in the days of PIE vs Oracle
Sarkos - The Minmatar equivalent of me (I guess) - but with probably some extra intelligence
Wren - The God of the Minmatar terrorists everywhere. The original freedom fighter - although he did lose his soul to the wenches eventually...
Maggot/Khaldorn Murino/Zoolkhan - The Freelance Unicorporated crew. Stick to their guns through even the most dark times and fight with honour always. My most respected foe.
--------------------------------- Smiting pirates and terrorists since Sept 2003

Brother's in Arms
1) Golan Trevize - We may not have always seen eye to eye but this mad Dane is a great pilot in game and a great guy outside it too... I will never forget seeing him drink a pink*****tail in a rague nightclub though... Ah how those MC guys would laugh if they knew
2) Gaius Kador - The Inquisitor. Amarr fanatic par excellence. Die Dogs!
3) Rodj Blake - Intergalactic pugilator supreme. He is always right
4) Light Kominski - The best CEO PIE ever had and PIE has has a lot of good CEO's
5) Archbishop - Great videos, great propganda - great guy!
6) Ethidium Bromide - The mad Austrian and early EVE radio DJ - His drunken suicide patrols of Minnie space made me groan - and made me laugh at the same time.
7) Aralis - Mr CEO. One of the many unknown, unsung heroes of EVE. Works harder at this game than anyone I know and as a result has one of the best corporations as well. Without his vision and leadership CVA would not punch so far above what its numbers would indicate...
Many many other PIE/CVA/Citadel people I probably could mention as 'legends' for me but no one else would know so kind of pointless to do that... --------------------------------- Smiting pirates and terrorists since Sept 2003

Jexter- Amazing pirate, and very classy. What made the Jokers so scarey was the fact that you could go into a fight against them, have same or better odds, and somehow they would pull off a victory.
Fist- same as above
Shamis Orozoz- Great pvp'er/leader/pirate/ceo/etc, etc...
TWD- Killed me once. (which by itself isnt exactly an accomplishment for him, but it was a big death for me that i will always remember)

I would have to nominate Morbor for the first truely devious act in Eve. He managed to fool hundreds of players into giving him over 2 billion isk in the early stages of the game. Not only did he fool the players but he was promoted as a multi level marketing operation through eve-i.com
Morbor sat there never leaving a station milling through 10 chat logs at a time promising people that they would recive between 110 - 200% ROI (Return on investment). They were naturally skeptical at first by donating small amounts. Not long after people started to invest 100's of millions and when the time was right. Morbor filtered the cash down through 3 corporations, stopped playing EvE and the ISK quite simply disappeared.
Truely insideous.
So you are now asking how I know all this?
I was the CEO of one of the benifiting corporations. And yes I laughed at you too.
I gained both a bit of money and a good laugh. So Morbor is nominated even though he no longer plays EvE.

Necro posting ftw :p
If this thing is stil going on, TankCEO!
He was the single greatest fear of empire dwellers and 0.0 pvpers alike back in the days :P Everyone knew TankCEO (sure, moo was maybe "more sceary" on a large scale, but no single pilot invoked the kind of "omg run!" feeling like TankCEO did)
Verone, one of EVE's greatest pirates of all time, and stil going strong. Almost became a pirate thanks to hes guides and such, and who knows, might just become one at a later point

Tank CEO and Lord Zap had a 1v1 (moa v moa) in Lonetrek at the time of the Passari blockades. Tank CEO woke up in a clone station after getting literally 2 shotted. m0o killed Tank and his corpmates several times during the early days; Tank borrowed his moa setup from Zap when it became clear he didnt have a clue how to fit it. Go figure.

Whoa. Now there's a blast from the past. I sort of run stealthy with this, but i'm pallantre from IRC, and recall those days with a measure of fondness.
And, to date, i don't believe any corporate website reached the level of sophistication phyrefox's early ISC layouts had.

I just love that statement, cant find the damn thread but it was in relation to KOS members complaining about not being helped and LD was trying to convey that "I am not Jesus!" and cant help those who dont ask for it. Besides his pew pew ability, His temper, seen it in gangs to other people and have been at the end of it once on TS. At the time u hate the barstard but later u realise he only has the best interests of the Alliance at heart and says what needs to be said... great eve player

Influenced me the most ? ... Besides our enemies ... ?
Maybe FlamerBS, my old great visionary, but unlucky Ex-CEO, who lead our corp during an important time for myself. He was the first one, who gave me goals that I wanted to achieve in a group in EVE. He had big plans and was quite enthusiastic. He invested a lot of work to make those plans come true, but in the end he got beaten by some development that wasn't in his hands. Corp life those days was a roller coaster ride. After another down, the bad luck seemed to follow-us, he gave-up, played WOW or so and now he's in BoB. Dunno, if he still active. Anyway, without him I don't know, if I'd still play EVE and if, I probably wouldn't be where I am now. He gave us a lot of fun, something to aim for and tied us together.
So as the most influential people to me I nominate: - FlamerBS (Ex-CEO, the crazy visionary with big plans ^^)
- Saibot Territ (Current CEO, who grabbed leadership and rescued our corp, after FlamerBS left. If Sai hadn't done that, I would have probably left and maybe the whole corp disbanded. )
- all corp mates, I've been flying with during that time and who showed me how much fun it is (/me waves at Marschall (DICE-now), Diddi, eQui, Lakta, Skaari etc. and the ones that are still with us of course )
And last but not least as a non-corp mate:
- Light Darkness for being a great fleet commander and having been a great leader. He knows what he wants and how to get there, says it and is generally fun to fly with.
k, off, driving for a few days into the holidays ^^

He was the first guy to pod me after only a few days in EVE and I fell in love with EVE after that. Used to have to run away from that scary little Incursus of his. But he was a great guy and always up for a dogfight.
He's one of the most feared and respected pilots in BoB, now, which says something.
But I will have revenge one day!
