Edited by: Bhaal on 21/06/2005 17:03:21 Edited by: Bhaal on 21/06/2005 17:02:38 Well, they added the inability to place items into the contents of cans that don't belong to you, they should just mirror that feature and not allow anyone to take from a can that is not theirs... (gang member/corp member)
What they should do is:
When you go to jet a can, you have a choice of either loot or ore.
If you choose ore, then anyone can add to it, and anyone can take from it.
If you choose loot, only you or your corpmates can add/remove from it.
You can't put ore in a loot can, but you can put anything you want in an ore can...
All other cans from NPC's & player kills act like loot cans...
Also, you can check a default loot/ore can button in the config so you don't get the popup box everytime... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Quote: I would also like to beat up people that keep telling newbies about jet can mining without fully informing them of the risks they actively take or how it is completely unsupported by CCP and is also not endorsed by them.
Get over it already...
Jet can mining has been part of the mining 101 class since beta...
Anyone forced to mine the "traditional way" would quit the game due to their eyeballs rotting & falling out of their sockets... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Quote: In other words, you don't want your stuff from your ship's loot cans falling into enemy hands when you get blown up.
Pass.
No...
If you kill someone, the one who gets the kill mail is owner of can... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Quote: CCP has decided to meet players halfway by implementing secure containers that can be bought on the market and have the advantage of being equipped with a password lock. These containers cost money and do not hold the vast amount of ore that the regular containers do. However, with good organization and frequent ore pickups using Industrial ships, they can be very useful for large scale mining operations.
LOL, put down the pipe...
They need to make deployable ore silo's...
SEC cans are so useless...
Would be cheaper to get 5% of your ore stolen every outting than to waste the time & ISK it requires to use those useless cans... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Quote: Use secure, abchored cans.
And get outta newbie space
1) Sec cans are not big enough. (Anyone who mines a lot would know this)
2) Newbs belong in newbie space.
It will be fun to see if CCP addresses this problem b4 the servers shut down... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Quote: Requests for thieves to have an increased risk is mildly hypocritical when spoken by the lips of Empire(0.5+) miners and Empire(0.5+) agent runners, imho.
If you stay in 0.5+ you give up a lot of risk, and even more reward...
If an ore thief stays in 0.5+, he has free riegn, and has NO risk...
For those who keep saying to use secure cans, I'd like to ask you politely to stop sticking your thumb in your ass and then sucking on it... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Quote: The only way CCP can fix this is educate or remove the players responsible for unsecured can miing
You mean like 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of miners in the game?
Yeah, CCP should ban all of them... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |
