As for cleaning up after? Just empty the litterbox over the balcony, and refill with litter. Someone else can clean it up from there.
Mind you, I haven't opened the CQ in months. There might be huge mutant rats living under the sofa. |

I think it's also worthwhile mentioning that CAT TOYS are a huge industry.
Sure, it starts with a bit of string, or a paper ball, but soon it's rubber mice and illicit cat weed being smuggled across Gods only know how many light years...
It's a huge industry... and I know how many of you out there aspire to researching the BPO's for the perfect cat toys. 
And those little plastic balls with the bells inside ? That's got Planetary Interaction written all over it.
