Hicks, I sent another mail to the Marketing department that included the link to your post. I do know that Oveur sent an e-mail to IA this morning about the pricing and I am hoping that the gents in Marketing can get something going.
We're still attempting to work something out and get the pricing reduced. I'm keeping on this and will continue to post updates.

Originally by: Omber Zombie Kieron, in case no-one has said it already, thanks for your hard work on this. At the moment i'm looking at making an ad-hoc package becase to be honest, for me it's about $1000 cheaper.
+1
If I make it I'll buy Kieron and Wrangler a beer.
To share, of course.
That's ok, but you know we'll hunt you down and claim our beer.

Yes, tickets for the FanFest will be available in the EVE Store for those that make their own travel arrangements or live in Iceland. Ticket pricing has not been set, but I would expect it to be around the pricing of last year's Fanfest. There might be a slight increase, but what is planned for this year is well worth it.
Also, we are still looking at other travel alternatives. Nothing concrete yet, but news will be posted as soon as it is available.

The Conference Pass for FanFest 2005 has been set. Passes are going to cost 65$ per person and will be available in the EVE Store in the near future. Yes, this is 15$ more than last year, but the plans for FF05 justify the slight increase.
CCP is also continuing to work on the travel arrangements. An update should be coming SoonÖ.

Local tickets are not yet being sold, but will be in the future. All you need is a friend in Iceland and either be prepared to send him money or if he is prepared to lend you money until you get to Iceland. I haven't seen a way to buy a ticket out of Iceland without getting an airwaves package.

Originally by: EndersGame I purchased the fan fest through the CCP icelandic airwaves music festival pass when it was first posted on the site (2 months ago).
Did you purchase an Airwaves Festival pass or a FanFest Pass? They are two seperate events. Airwaves does not include FanFest entry, nor does FanFest include Airwaves.
Quote: I purchased icelandic air's festival package, but now your telling me that CCP now have there own package that includes the pass?
Did you purchase your package directly through Iceland Air, or did you follow the link provided by the FanFest Information Page?
Quote: Does that mean that us players that purchased the package using a link provided from CCP early on got shafted?
If you purchased a FanFest package, the conference fee is included in the price of the package.
Quote: Does that mean I paid for a more expensive package that does not include a fanfest pass and arrives a bit later than the 19th, so us people that booked early did we get the short end of the stick?
FanFest conference fee is included in the price of any package booked for the FanFest. If you booked an Airwaves Festival package, then you mis-booked and must either purchase a FanFest ticket (65$ USD) or cancel your travel arrangements for the Airwaves and rebook with the FanFest.

What im saying is that I purchased the musicfesteval package BEFORE CCP had a fanfest package deal put together. I used the first links that were posted from the dev blog. What im asking is for those people that booked the music festival package deals before CCP got the fanfest package is do we have to pay for the pass? I believe you answered "yes".
Yes, if you bought the airwaves package the fan fest is not included and will cost you an extra $65.

I almost forgot, going to Iceland means you can get Duty Free stuff, and that doesn't happen too often these days with the European Union and all that. You can check their website here.
