I think it's really stupid that the loot tables seem the same from 0.8 down to 0.1 - My corp has noticed no advantage to fighting in 0.1 space rather than 0.8. Even 5-10 jumps into 0.0 space in Providence, the spawns and loot are junk.
This will cause MORE problems for manufacturers due to the fact that the "junk loot" can be sold on the market (Wherease previous drops couldn't), and in many cases it will be dumped at VERY low costs. (I still maintain that tech improvement research desperately needs to be implemented so that manufacturers can differentiate themselves.)
In addition, it's rather dumb that the hardest NPC encounters in this game can be handled by solo players. CCP needs to put in high-end group-only encounters. (EQ and DAoC have numerous areas requiring 100+ players for a successful raid - Meanwhile everything in EVE can be done solo.) ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

CCP please ditch this bug-ridden forum software.
Anyone know why the page indexes are not showing for this thread? Seems to be related to posting at a thread that was about to spill onto a second page.

I agree with Callas and Bad Harlequin - Screwing with pirate drops will never be able to help with the player market. Either:
a) There is no demand for player items due to pirate items being better. (Previous problem) b) There is an oversupply for player items because aforementioned items are also dropping off of pirates.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. No change to the pirate drop system will ever affect the player market significantly.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. WE NEED TECH IMPROVEMENT RESEARCH. We need it badly, and we need it ASAP. Without it, everyone is selling the same old crud. It's not like a basic system would be that hard to implement - Make the research benefits from an item be a bonus to all stats of 10%*log10(res level +1). (10% bonus to "good" stats, and 10% reduction in penalties). So Level 9 = 10% improvement, Level 99 = 20% improvement. Such a system would only require one additional DB attribute per unique item, and would only require a minor change to the market (ability to filter by research level). Give BP copies only half of the research benefits of originals, solving the copy problem in one fell swoop, without the severe penalties of a usage limit.
The market is fundamentally screwed for one reason, and one reason alone: Lack of tech improvement research. Very few other measures will do anything to stop the current problems without causing other problems. BP copying is a massive problem because people who created R&D characters have nothing else to do other than copy, copy, copy. Mineral research beyond 5-6 levels is pointless, production time research is STILL broken and not even worth a single level. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

I had a huge reply posted but every time I try to post it it doesn't post. Testing to see if it's yet another manifestation of the post length limit. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |
