Power Diagnostic Unit has been the term used for ages, and it will remain the term used. I donŠt see your post changing that any time soon.

Youare new arnt you? It used to be PDU since this is why the magority still call it by its origional and much cooler name.

Yes call me newbie. Perhaps beta2 players should be called newbies by beta1 players .
It has been PDS for a long time. Perhaps it's easier to say PDU but its PDS. As someone said, PDU might mean something else.

Whoo, counter-attack. Seems like I'm gaining fame here in forums  . It's a known fact that all publicity is good publicity as long as your name is written right  .
Back to topic .. I'm just trying to make people realise that its PDS rather than PDU.

maybe it would be a very smart move to put the commonly used abbreviations in the Dictionary.
the ones who are already in there, ar not really up to date and far away from beeing close to complete (i know you can't be complete).

speaking for myself, PDU has been the term ingrained on my psyche for a very long time (what a year and a half before they changed it ?) its not likely to get changed.
Much in the same way that CCP used the term POS while starbases were in concept development, but changed the name to starbase months before they ever even showed anything of them on the test server, yet probably 90% of players call them POS to this day. (worst chosen acronym ever probably that one, though it might have faded more had POS been better from the start)

Err, as far as I know, calling those "starbases" with acronym POS is actually right in the wrong way too

Honestly, I hadn't realised it was "Power Diagnostic System" nowadays.. ;) And I suppose I'll still call it PDU out of old habit, and because then people know what you mean.. Not trying to pull off any old school crap by that.

What, they aren't Player owned structures anymore?
Though I really think Structure Complex or whatever
would be a better term for it than Starbase, since it's simply not a starbase.. Or well ok, starbase might be an acceptable term for it, but it's definitely not a space station. =)
Here in Finland we have an acronym for this type of discussion 'pilkun nussimista'. ;) Translated, censored so I don't get banned from forums, without losing it's meaning it could be considered to be 'paragraph humping'
