Forgive me if this seems well explained already but to be honest, I still don't get how this works. I did the tutorial missions and *thought* I completed them all but I'm not positive, as I was a bit overwhelmed back when I was just starting. I remember getting an implant for my reward and was deliriously happy to see it sell for 2million. My question is: how *exactly* do I get level 2 missions? I've seen other people ask this and I've read the explanations. I've parsed them again and again but they don't make sense to me and the explanations usually make my head hurt, I believe because the people explaining them made assumptions that everyone knew the jargon they were speaking and I don't.
Anyway, I still don't know how to do this. Could someone step through the process very simply? I'm Amarr but I've moved into a comfortable new location in Minmatar region to build up my bankroll. I'm flying an Omen cruiser now and can handle most 0.5 and 0.6 rats, but I've been neglecting the agent mission side of the game and wondering now how to get back into it.
Suggestions please? Thanks!

Access to agents depends on your standings.
Best way to see what agents are and are not available to you is as follows:
-Go to an staion where you have an agent -Click the third tab "offices" and click on the (i) next to the corp you do missions for -Theres a bunch of tabs - one is agents - here you can see all agents in that corp - ones available to you and those not available to you due to your currently low standings - To see what your current standings are click on the "standings" tab To see what standing you need, right click on an agent and show info. Under the agent info tab it will show you what standings you need to use that agent.
Every mission you complete will increase your standings slightly. For every 16 missions you complete (without failing or rejecting) you get a storyline/important mission. These increase faction standings quite a lot and are helpful in climbing the agent ladder.
Add to this skills that help -Social lvl 3 allows you to train connections which also improves standings

I will make thist as clear as possible with a space between each point:
You need good standings with the corporation you are doing your agents with. The skill 'Connections' will help with this.
Your standings with the corp will most likely need to be around 2.00 to 3.00 before a good level 2 agent becomes availible.
Once your standings are acceptable, you need to find and agent that you can use. Do this by click 'Show Info' on the corporation you're working for. Then go to the tab 'Agents' and then find an agent in your area of work that you can work for.
Loyalty Points (LP) are what you recieve for doing missions. You can also trade them in with other things for rewards.
Research Points (RP) are what you get for doing research with an agent and are use to aquire certain Tech 2 Original Blueprints through a lottery system. More RPs means a better chance at a BPO.
I think I covered most of it... -----------------------------------------------

Something that no one has mentioned so far is that some agents require more than just standing. Some agents require that you have a particular skill at a certain level before they will work with you.
If you right click on the agent and choose "show info" one of the tabs has their complete requirements so you can work toward them if you like. ----- The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. |

simply put, do level one agents of the same corp until your standing is high enough for a level two of that corp

This is ONLY R&D agents. Thses are pretty much a class unto themselves and a seperate subject.

The above explanations are great, but they have neglected to tell you the easiest, fastest, and most efficient way to search for agents!
Click on Map, on the right hand menu click on the Stars tab, you should get a whole list of options to be displayed on your map.
From there click on Agents, about 3/4 of the way down, this will show you every agent you have avialable to you in the whole galaxy!
This helped me tremdously, gl.

Thank you all for the responses. If I'm reading all this correctly, it comes down to doing enough missions with one agent to incrementally raise my standing to some particular point that will unlock level 2 agents. Is that about it? The "standings" I see are designated 0.69, 1.02, etc, that kind of thing? I also see how my completion of missions raises the standings potentially a little each time. I've had some "important" storyline missions and completed them, but didn't know their significance at the time. I must have done something right, because I see now that I have a level 2 agent. It's a quality -20, but wtf, it's a level 2.
Thanks again.

If u do all of the tutorial, you should have enough standing to do lvl2 agents for your faction. If u additionally train connections to lvl4 u most likely have enough standing to do lvl 3 agents without doing any regular mission ....
