I would like to ask CCP for a new service wich would allow players to change their race or bloodline once in a time and with much restraints.
The purpose of this is us vet players , we created characters in a utterly other Eve:
1 - There was no other way to make money then mining.Completely no other way.
2- Many skills had other attribs as prime req.
3-On start it looked there are amny skills wich need memory to combat also, like engeenering + all learning skills required memory. Now a safe assumption was there will be engenring skills 'tech 2' and adv. learning skills will too need memory, wich turned out to be false.
4- There are poeple who wich to change their gamestyle, they wich to concentrate on other things.
And no creating new char wont cut it i wont throw my 26 milions sp away and wait months before i can be as effective.
So my idea is once in 3 months , for a rl fee, a person can change its character race and redistribute its starting skill points.A one time hit of skill points maybe 10 % would also propably be needed so poeple dont start changing every 3 months to speed up their skill, planing " this motnh mem ,next percp etc."
I know many many vets would be very happy, me among them.

Edited by: Dante Chusuk on 30/06/2005 06:52:11 If I remember correctly (and this was a while ago now) when I was playing Neocron they had something similar but it just allowed you to re-do your skill points.
It was sold under the banner of a drug - so ok works in NC universe potentially better than it would for Eve but then we are being told we are getting temporary effect boosters. The drug allowed you to permenantly forget a level of a certain skill. Side effect being that a number of the allocated skill points were lost.
Ok so maybe it doesn't allow you to change your race but should allow you to rejig your skills enough to make the changes you want (with a bit of loss).
Oh and these things went for Neocron credits not RL cash ...

dont you think it would be unrealistic from a RP standpoint to have your attributes changed? i mean think about it, thats like dubya becomeing smart and good with words from nothing if the mod's increased his intelligence and charisa.

Its a game dont care much about it and besides there is i beleive the change look for rl money stuff.
Also you can find a explanation like your mind being transferred to another body or some drugs or other science fiction mumbo-jumbo.

afaik DNA modifiers are scheduled (Kali?) that would allow you to change your atributes... not too sure though

Holy zhit! Someone remembers this game. It was called "LOM Pills" aka. Loss of Memory. In early stakes rich people used LOMs to change from building to research and do blueprints, then change back to building and make items and profit $$$. Then it was nerffed back to stoneage :D (loss of exp and 5min between pills).
There could be change to reset those 5 extra points you put when making char but change your bloodline and stuff? No. _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

Don't see the point behind such a feature. If you really want different stats you just have to roll a new character. If everyone could swich their atributes like they wanted they would just swich them back and fourth to always have max gain - why even have them in the first place then`?

Starting a new char is just dumb it wont happen uneless u get a second account.

he right there when i started there was no other way npcing ha, the npcs before exodus where a joke, and i would like this new service it would help me out alot due my atributes are really bad also, cuz i choose mining after my account was banned and i started a new char (which i will not discuss) but yeah the idea is gd and it there its just getting ccp to agree

Have you bothered to read my post in whole?
Especially that part " once in 3 months" and "a skillpoint hit of around 10 % or appropraite".Its exactly so you cant do it often, and its no gain in short time.
Roll a new character ?and start from scratch when i have been plkaying for 2 years? no thanks.
And whythe negative? it doesnt hurt anybody , just allows old players to modify their charracters to current Eve or to their current sytle of playing.

I'd have to say no to this suggestion. Starting over isn't so bad as it sounds. I used to play Nightfang, whom I know you know Earthan, and I deleted him to create this Amarr character instead.
So I'll say no both because I know it ain't so bad, and because I'd be so mightily peeved about my wasted 15M skillpoints

Yes the LOM pills were good, they let you basically do mini rerolls, but penalized you at the same time. It was a good balance.
And as great as that feature was, look where Neocron is now... :(

A one to skill redistribution to get rid of all those crappy skills would be nice

Is having 2-3 million skill points "wasted" such a big deal?

Same reason you wrote this post - I had sucky attributes and my skills were dispersed among so many fields due to gameplay change it felt useless.
That and I wanted to play in PIE

I haven't played that game for eons. I left few months before DoY. I didn't like it when CEO of KK left house and went to that other company that released DoY.
Whats going on there now? Did NC2 success? I heard you can now shoot people in Plaza1 . "No slots on my malediction?! Time to die builder!" _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

Heh I gave up on NC when I got told about/invited to Eve Beta by a friend ... haven't looked back since. The only other MMORPG I "flirted" with seriously was E&B (EA ... grrr!).
The LOM pills were just a vague recollection, glad some others remember them and the original poster likes the idea ;)
If the hinted at DNA modification "makes" it in (maybe after we got the rest of Exodus ) then this complete with LOM pills (possibly using similar code to the proposed boosters? IDK I'm an engineer not a programmer) would allow people like Earthan to make the changes/fine tuning they want.
