It's 11 concerts simultaneously worldwide, to be watched by more then 2,000,000,000 people, to make 8 men in one room change the destiny of a continent.
Or something along those lines... but the music will be good. -----------------------------------------

All I can say is The Who, Pink Floyd and Velvet Revolver thoroughly rocked my socks off.

Velvet revolver..
Awesome... only disapointment for me of the odd glances was the crowd...
Most just didn't seem into it, it even took robbie ages to wind um up, made his 'we will rock you' fall flat on it's face realy...
I mean, iv'e been in pubs and clubs where that gets played and every *^&*^* has their arms in the air and sings it.(granted though thats normaly gone midnight and people are fueled on alcohol
Obviously you would have got less in a stadium... but it would have been a better event for it i think.

I got stuck in front of the telly watching quite a chunk of it. I liked the event, maybe because it lacked the exaggerated sentimentality of events that are focused on raising funds rather than awareness.

I watched it on the telly and, like Galk, I thought most of the crowd look disinterested.
I guess that is the problem with staging an Event for Charity - people who want to feel good about themselves grab all the tickets before the music lovers. It showed.

Yup was the same in phildelphia as well, i think the reason is because you have a bunch of people all there to hear their favourites so when anything else is on they just sort of stand around.

I'm still wondering why everyone thought Madonna pwnd, ok nothing spectacular, the whole thing seemed a bit souless to me at times.
I picked up this ace book today everyone rates it as a must buy for the budding military genius, tho ive decided to rename it as "Sun Tzu's art of the bloody obvious" |

Madonna set was good because of the choir singers and the breakdancers. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch all the shows at the same time on digital satalite tv, linkin park were good. Snoop dog, far too muh swearing for me.
P.S as for your sig, Sun Tzu's art of war may seem obvious today, but back when it was written it was strategists bible, especially seeing how most went into battle without ploys or tactics.

Choirs and breakdancers make a great live act? looks like i missed that boat. As for Sun Tzu my point is that people seem to think he was some kind of genius, he wasnt, he just had a lot more common sense and a little more inteligence then most. Chinese history is full of innovation, invention, and creativity, but dont confuse genius with common sense as most are prone to do with Sun Tzu.

I was in work for most of the broadcast, and then I was asleep , I've heard the house was thoroughly rocked, though. ____________________________________ Justice is the only thing I have left. The lives of thousands be damned. |

Pink Floyd's performance: Absolutely Amazing !!!
I wasn't even in my parents plans when they started rocking the world, and they can still send shivers down people's spines. When Waters started singing "So... So you think you can tell..." I shed a tear. Very intense. I mean, they're all old farts, but the music is unaltered by age, and they stand proof to that. Very Impressive.

music.aol.com for the next month has free downloads of the London, Philly, and Barrie shows.
For those of us in Canada, where they CUT the Pink Floyd performance after the 2nd tune it is a godsend. Apparently The Tragically Hip are greater than Pink Floyd in Canada. :(
