Just logged into the test server on 3508 patch and my crow now has a top speed of 5.1k from TQ 3.5-3.6k 
just using cat cold MWD lvl 4 nav lvl 3 MWD speed skill ( ill up it one day )
Speed bonus on MWD is 603% think thats the same as TQ also.
So what has changed? inty mass because of the change to cruisers?

I've noticed the same on all ships with mwd or a/b. My ferox went up from 410 to 498, a caracal went from 560 to 710. (and I'm not complaining).
I checked the stats and it doesn't seem related to mass since it's still the same. (according to show info). I also did the math on the base speed of the active ships * the a/b's and mwd's and I think that the calculation was always incorrect.
I also checked nanofiber effects and stats, but they're claiming to be the same as well. Base speed on my ships hasn't changed either. (I have one ship with a nano)
It may still be incorrect but erroring on the higher side. I think the truth lay somewhere in-between ;)

Cruisers at least, I heard, got a speed increase and agility increase, so that explains those...kinda.

Heard rumors that they lowered the masses of the ships. My Raven with 3 nanofibers and mwd makes 2000+ m/s.

Just tried this myself
Claw with gistii a-type mwd, 1 nanofiber, and acceleration control at 3...
7.2km/sec
I like it :)

Its probably to compensate for the fact that you can warp in at up 100km now... Tacklers gotta close the gap.

Can someone tell me how (6 * 1.15) * 531.25 = more than 5000m/s?

Once upon a time (very early days) the formula was : (base(100%) + module bonus * acceleration) - base
That used to turn a 50% ab into an 80% ab with acceleration control 4.
They nerfed the afterburners effects a few times because people like me would put 5 on a mammoth and go 2.2km/s, but apparently still decided it wasn't enough, so they changed the formula to the more recent one, which of course would turn a 50% ab into an 60% ab with skill 4 (except by that point the AB's were down to 30% or so, so it became a 36%  )
Perhaps now that we can only use one ab/mwd they have decided to bring back the old formula.
Or perhaps its something completely different causing it
