Because some of us actually enjoy the voice and are not initialy disliking it just because "it's different".

I dont like it because the atmosphere created by the old voice was much better, i prefer my ships computer to actually sound computeresque

You want a ship's computer that exists hundreds of thousands of years ahead of our current year, 2005, to have identical voice emulation sounds to what we currently have on planes and computers?
You don't think by then they could have better sound emulation?

its not a matter of "fictional realism" but of mood established, and really really a moot point to argue about. some will like the new voice better, some the old one.

Like UndergrounD said, where is it? I don't see it in the "Eve Videos" section.

It's found in the test server client, by clicking "Introduction movie"

Edited by: Cloned Mark on 04/07/2005 11:58:51 You need to get the latest test patch for singularity, then click on 'Introduction movie' on the login screen.
Pretty neat film, basically tells you the backstory to EVE and you even get to see a pic of Earth.
EDIT: Also, I noticed Jovians didn't get a single mention in this movie. -----------------------------

Oh...my... The intro is brilliant!
And about that voice.. Now...after watching the intro the voice sounds less annoying.

I love the intro movie and I love the voice, reminds me of the Homeworld mother ship voice to some extent. Void of emotion but in a good way :-)

The woman doin the voice on the movie seems to be the same as the one that did the TUROK videogame (Nintendo64).

That was the one game I ever really used a lot of cheat codes for. The weapons were just too insanely overpowered not to. Like that one gun, which was almost like firing Praxis moon explosions from the start of Star Trek VI.

It was a black metallic rod with a blue crystal at the tip. If you charged it up to full and fired a shot, the whole screen would go white from the resulting atomic blast. :-)

You've clearly never played Homeworld, have you.
I haven't seen it yet, but if it's anything like the HW intro vid, EVE is gonna do gangbusters post-patch. ____________________________________ Justice is the only thing I have left. The lives of thousands be damned. |

It's very Homeworldesque, Female narration, still images...
Good stuff. ___
