Personally, I am only playing Dark Souls and will be playing Skyrim after, but yes, there are a ton of 'blockbuster' hits out. Not to mention the forthcoming Assassin's Creed III and Skyward Sword.
It would be interesting to know how many and which of these Capsuleers mostly play, if any. I always had the feeling that most that played EVE were not into recycled formulaic FPSs.

Well there was an emergency, but CCP managed just in time to rush in the Flatline Intervention Specialists (better known as FiS) which has now breathed new life into the game. 
Nex (Cash Shop)-á/ Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna.
Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future. |

The price of a PLEX will tell you if EVE is dieing. When the price hits the floor, then EVE is dieing and as it's currently going up in price, I don't see the death of EVE any time soon...

First off...when the OP started this thread it was a Thursday...not exactly a peak day for EvE. Secondly...Skyrim. Yes...Skyrim came out Friday and all weekend my thought process was...**** EvE, Skyrim. Secondly. Battlefield 3. For the past 2 weeks prior to Skyrim it's been nothing but BF3 for me. Lastly...Star Wars beta keys went out to a lot of people over the weekend. Next weekend its an open beta.
My point is...a lot of big name games came out this month. This is why EvE is in a slump in terms of log in's. Happens every year around this time. Nothing unusual. Personally I take a break from EvE for about a month a year while I catch up on other games. Keeps me from burning out entirely. I always come back...everybody always comes back to EvE.
