This is fact now, as we bought these BPOs today. At ME zero, the Gallente freighter requires:
16 capital armor plate: 491K Trit per plate 7.856 mil trit total 92 cap cargo bays: 909K per bay 83.628 mil Trit total 58 Cap construction parts: 403K per, 23.374 mil trit total 17 Capital Propulsion engine: 475K per 8.075 total
For a grand total of 122.933 million trit. Sure ME will bring that down some, but we'll still be talking at least 100 mil trit per freighter.
Seriously, who is going to mine that much lows? And don't get me started on Dreadnaughts and outposts, which I gather require MUUUUCH more.
For the "shut up you whiner" ppl, I'm not complaining about the COST of the ship. I'm just saying "where the hell am I going to get the trit". That old "Veldspar licker" insult may be truer than one might think. There aren't enough ppl who mine in this game to support trit demands like this. Heck, it's hard to get trit just to build BSEs...
Razor
PS. the freighter requires a lot of other mins too, but they all seem manageable except for the trit, which just seems bent. Razor

I sense..... a sharp rise in Trit prices.
5 isk trit?? Do I hear 6 isk???
Gotta make sure those noobs are well paid.
Oh, and folks will mine that Trit. Folks want those new ships, but thankfully CCP has taken steps to prevent them from becoming to common, altough they'll probably be more common than some people feel is right.

In game explination, These ships are REALLY Large, you think you know big but you don't know anything, These ships are HUGE! they need LOTS of trit to build that hull.
Out of game explination
This ships are Rare. And CCP wants it that way. These ships are the cutting edge and are not going to be easy for anyone to have. You don't have a right to have this ship, you have to really want it and work at it.
My corp can mine a couple battleships in a night without any effort, insure them and the mighty battleship has lost the value it once had. Everyone has atleast one. Once you have a BS it's rather easy to hold on to and it's something that no one take notice of, no one dreams of owning a BS anymore.
These ships are going to be the "it" thing for a while. Your not going to say, "lets get a freighter tonight, jimmy and johnny get your barges and I'll use my alt to haul, at the end of the week we'll build one for each of us"
I won't be flying a dread or a freighter for a long time, and most of eve will simply have to watch from the side lines dreaming. Hard to build Specailty ships are a good thing for eve.

Of course, the best part is that the uber miners of trit, Covetors with strip miner IIs, are all hiding due to the occasional visits of kessie deathsquads.
Anyways, if everyone goes to mining trit, there will be a shortage of ice. Lord knows, this is going to suck.
I said it long ago, I'll say it again. If CCP wants an isk sink have NPCs sell Trit at 5 isk per....

What I'd like to know is why a Frieghter needs Captial Ship Components when its not a captial ship, doesnt require the Capital Ships skill....
think CCP got a bit confused there

Mate, that's a really pertnant observation there. A base of trit that doesn't rise above a certian point, a 'hold' on the market.

I love it.
You should consider making some deal with someone who make 1 type of part for it. Not everyone are going to make freighter from begin themselfs(or affort the BPO), so there will be competing component market too.
Its going to be expensive and huge time sink if you plan to mine all ore -> make components yourself -> build the freighter yourself, but you shouldnt do all steps yourself.

Well that sucks I was hoping freighter would be closer to the 3 bil mark but it seems closer to 2. _ _ How many pilots does it take to wire a Flux Capacitor? 3, 1 to wire it and 2 to talk about how the old one was better. |

Question - is that all they take is Trit or do they use other minerals as well? What about the ship itself? -

The ship requires only the modules noted. The modules do require all mineral types, but they're all reasonable to get and trasport with the exception of all that hella-trit.

Well there is still miners here, I could ofcourse always ask them, it all depends on what kind of deal you want to give!!!, personally I know that I would love me a Freighter to haul minerals around... and I am currently in working to try and raise isk enough to do so.
