The Prophecy of Macaper is one of the many EVE Chronicles that can be found int he Backstory section of this website. It mentions 7 cataclisims that will occur before the end of the "world". The 7 Cataclisims are described as follows:
1.) ôthe cosmetic kiss of the cometsö 2.) A planet was literally flooded with rain that lasted for weeks. 3.) A ôroaring stone that silences the world.ö 4.) ôthe appetite of nothing expands over the worldö 5.) ôthe little brother makes the final sorrowful steps home; he is not welcomeö 6.) ôwhat was many now becomes one when one becomes fourö 7.) ôreturn of the dark light from the heart of the motherö
It is stated in the Chronicle that the First, Second, and Third prophecies have already come to pass. I believe that the fourth has now come to pass as well. I'm sure any of you that have been following the news recently will think back to the Blood Raider's attack on Mabnen I, when they released an Airbourne Insorum solution that resulted in the breakout of mass riots on it's surface. The fourth prophecy states "the appetite of nothing expands over the world", and if you think about it, slaves that have been subdued with Vitoc are little more than nothing, having no wants or desires.
If this is true, then the 5th prophecy, ôthe little brother makes the final sorrowful steps home; he is not welcomeö, will soon be upon us as well. I draw your attention now to the Chronicle of Amarr Succession, which speaks of the ritual suicide that 4 of the 5 Royal House members must commit when they lose an attempt at obtaining the Emperor's seat. The only one to ever break this tradition was Khanid II, and I believe that the 5th prophecy speaks of him, and is somehow linked to the death of Emperor Dorium II.
If that should also come to pass, some sort of reconciliation of Khanid's Kingdom with the Amarr Empire, then only 2 prophicies remain before the final prophecy becomes true. The 6th prophecy is very generalized, and could be interpreted to mean many things, and won't likely be guessed at until it has already come to pass. But the 7th it quite clear. It marks the reopening of the EVE gate in the New Eden system. This is the one that is ment to bring about the "end of the world".
So. Just giving you something to think about.
______________________________________________ As I stand, dazzled by the shattered twilight, I think back... I think back to all the events that have brought me here. And I realize... I realize I was ment to come here. Someone wanted me to come here. And now, I have come here. |

Unless of course #4 refers to a black hole or singularity. I suspect all the prophecies refer to natural events.
As for ....

So Khanid might replace Sarum, since Sarum has no heir.
Interesting.

The 6th is pretty obviously the empires. They are splitting apart, 'one (CONCORD) becoming 4 (empires)'. What the 'many becoming one' is we won't know till the seperation is complete.
The 7th..? Don't be ridiculous! Dirt is nothing but a myth, there is nothing on the other side of the EVE-gate!
That being said, they chose a nice time to try it if they do attack EVE. Can anyone say 'dreadnought'? _________

That would be interesting if the EVE gate opened and a fleet from the home worlds came in to see if their were any survivors and saw teh 4 empires and decided to bring them back into the fold
It would then be a scramble to gather forces to defend this space from invasion forces

Humans invading would be ghey. Make it aliens, freespace 2 style.
In fact, just nick all of freespace 2's story, it would fit pretty well in EVE's current setting. _________

If the the otherside really did open the only race with a snowballs chance in hell are the Jovians, of us all they were the only ones not to suffer a multi-hundred year technology setback.
And Dreadnaught you say, think of an outpost sized ship who warps in without needing a beacon and is able to leech power from planetary masses, oh and just for humor sake the drones it uses are the size of tier 1 BS's, and attack in highly structured fleet formations.
Faulty testing kept me from delivering the "Logic Editor" earlier.
I was using my own post and it kept blanking everything out.

Perhaps ôwhat was many now becomes one" means that the empires and factions may all join together?
And 7) certainly seems to be refering to Earth (the mother).
Sounds interesting...

most philosphers believe the fifth prophecy to be a portent to the invasion of Minmatar space by the Ammatar.

guessing 6.) ôwhat was many now becomes one when one becomes fourö means that the many conflicts between the factions turns into one huge war involving them all when the 4 empires seperate ties with each other

For many becoming one, I would say : we (many) will become unite (one) [to face a great/lucrative/interesting race (could be Jove or another thing)].
With POS and others stuff like dreads, we can imagine the opening of a new gate, where we would have to build POS just to protect ourselves, but also to invade this new territories (dread to kill their POS, transport ships to supply massive invasion forces...). This for me would be a great event, and probably a source of great interest in Eve, that I lack sometimes.

I for one would welcome the Terrans with open arms, and would join them to restore the collonies to the fold. Besides, imagine the tech they will have

1-3 have apparently happened.
4.) ôthe appetite of nothing expands over the worldö
This is most likely greed and capatalism/cold war/stagnation/etc.
5.) ôthe little brother makes the final sorrowful steps home; he is not welcomeö
My guess is we finally get to see the Jovians. And they are indeed not welcomed. Big BIG *BIG* war results, slagging half of everything. Or, it could mean that the EVE gate opens and upon returning, we aren't welcomed.
#6 - no idea.
7.) ôreturn of the dark light from the heart of the motherö
#7, if the second hypothesis on #5 is true, would likely mean EVE gets obliterated by forces from earth. Perhaps they've evolved beyond us, or whatever - maybe THEY sabotaged the wormhole in the first place. Who knows.

Didn't everyone proclaim, with absolute certainty, a few months back, that this referred to the Protein Delicacies incident? I seem to recall several threads about it.
The problem is that we only have one damn prophecy and everyone keeps quoting it.

4.) ôthe appetite of nothing expands over the worldö
the appetite of nothing could be a way of thinking in which people try to survive without anything.
ie. the oppostite of greed, kinda like monks not talking and onlyeating bread and water, just trying to survive on as little as possible.
my guess is that this way of thinking spreads throughout the world of eve, until everyone thinks this way.
5.) ôthe little brother makes the final sorrowful steps home; he is not welcomeö
The Jove are the 'little brother' because although they are technologicalliy superior, there are less of them.
The Jove where always more solitary than the other races, prefering to stay with themselves. they would come back to intermingle with the other races but the others would be put off but they physical difference (The Jovian Wet Grave tells of the main guy looking upon them as alien and not human)
6.) ôwhat was many now becomes one when one becomes fourö im too tired to write any more
7.) ôreturn of the dark light from the heart of the motherö even tireder now.

Hmm Yeah, definitely seems likely, either that or Khanid returning to Amarr
