The map shows statistics such as # of jumps, average pilots active, and others. If your systems are mined out, check the map to try to find less frequented places. There's plenty of dead-end and low-traveled systems with rocks to mine. |

This is a PVP game.
PVP includes, believe it or not, depleting the asteroid fields yourself before anyone else can. Try going to areas where there's less of that. Got on last night about 11pm EST and found lots of roids. Only 3 or 4 jumps from a major trade hub. |

Those miners doenst care, they are good only to blob outnumbering solo miners and clearing belt after belt. There's no fairness and no chance for a "good mining".
I think CCP should put some new in game mechanic to halt this unconsensual mining. Like if one enter a belt then others need to have his consent to enable the roids for mining.
Or just make some kind of instanced mining arenas, where everyone can mine in the same way removing any risk of competition or interaction. |

what??? And why one should be forced to put some effort and jump away from his home system? Only because these grieffers zerg the belts with their mining ops clearing everything in few seconds? It's more easy for CCP to change the game and place neverending mining spawns |

This is becoming more of an issue as increased ship destruction increases demand for minerals. Ive found even low traffic dead end systems stripped. There are several things CCP could do to help the situation.
Have roids respawn at any time. Anomalies do so. Signatures do so. Incursions do so. Roids should as well. Make mining time zone neutral.
Make some sort of scanner that allows a belt to be scanned at range (several AU) for content. At least then when you warp to a system you can see if its mined out rather than having to individually warp to 15 belts and check them all out.
As anomalies and signatures already respawn at any time, add some grav anomalies and increase the grav sigs.
Have mission belts persist after the mission is turned in. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

I suggest Amarr space.
The island could always use more miners. Its a hi sec island cut off by low sec so if you can get through low sec, you pretty much have the whole place to yourslef.

They do. Just install the industry upgrades into your iHub.
If you want to stay in HS, pay mercenaries to keep the belts clear of miners until you're ready to mine. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

There's your problem right there. By the time you're done working, the 'Bots have already done their thing and moved on.
OK, I could tell you to mine in missions, which works, or mine in Anoms, which works, or move to lower Sec, which works, but I sense you're looking for an easier answer - and there is one. But it's not as 'simple' as it sounds at first, and it also won't happen.
If asteroipds spawned in smaller numbers, but more often, the average quantities of resources would remain constant, and you'd have to wait less time for a re-spawn; maybe even a short enough time to suit you. - BUT - Those thinner respawning belts would attract a LOT more attention from other miners, whom would've normally already have had their fill and logged. And from 'Bots. And from gankers.
When water ('roids) are scarce, every critter, including the preditors, gets drawn to the waterhole.
But that's not why it won't happen. The 'why' is that it's extra work for CCP, and the way things are now suit the vast majority of people just fine. So... See the other alternatives, above.
Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

An alternative to roid mining is ice mining. It's slightly less isk per hour but the ice belts never run out and you can basically afk it.

A slap fight between the miners over rocks. Too boring flying around looking for asteroids so the OP can mine...yay, let the mining excitement start!

My wartargets find places to afk mine while at war less than an hour before downtime. You need to look harder.
Hint: Spend some time learning about asteroid spawns at different security levels and in different empires. Once you have a good handle on that, use dotlan's maps to find the right kind of system for you. If you're JUST looking to mine, try being somewhere that's not loaded up with other things.

1. Belts respawn at DT. Only. If you don't get to one in time, it's gone.
2. Belts, in Hi Sec, respawn with the same number of rocks, the same number of rocks of each type, and in the same positions.
3. If you kill a belt, or even a single type of rock in a belt, it takes 3 days for the rocks to get back to full size. IOW, keep killing one that was already killed, and you will get small rocks every day.
