I know opinions are finely split over new voice..... for me, PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD GAL!!
"The mojo has run out of charges". Can someone please advise me on what the new chick just said. Empty your weapon and hear for yourself.
Bad enough that she sounds stoned, but to remind me of my libido... too much to take!

I would also like to have the option to use the old voice, since i really donŠt like that drugged woman that we have now, as i also use the voice to know when to disable the autopilot.

Needs to be a scaleable option. Let us choose the Voice we want. This New Voice is Not as bad as it started on the Test Server (Or maybe I've got used to it) But The Old Voice Was Sooooooo Much Better ! |

Edited by: Ademaro Imre on 13/07/2005 18:37:05 Why not just insert our own .wav files? We should make and trade our own .wav files for any event in the game...

Actually you are probably losing some sounds by substituting in the entire .stuff file. Just extract the files from under res\Sound\ui\voc using the .stuff extractor program....

I wouldn't mind the old voice as an option...
This current, depressive one, I won't even keep audiable, that's for sure...
What happened anyway? Was the original voice in with lease and the contract expired? o.O Wasn't there anything else to do, not even make coffee for the other CCP employees? Did it really have be changed? (no, I don't expect answres to these rethorical questions :P) |

Me being quite new, never heard the old voice and so I know know the current voice. It's ok I guess, it gets a bit boring sometimes. But I'm curious as to what the old voice sounded like. -------------------------

She's so very...British.

CCP can tell me off if they like its not hax0ring per sae
If u have a copy of resSND.stuff from pre patch eve. Simply rename the existing resSND.stuff to resSND.bak (don't copy the file and leave a file named 'copy of resSND.stuff'..u'll get a CCP debug error message) then copy in the old resSND.stuff file and hey presto u'll only have to listen to the manic psycho woman from hell if u have autopilot on (Thats the 'Warping to Stargate' voiceover rest of autopilot voice notifications will be fine). All other voices will be the originals.
How's that for your 'unofficial' tweak eh
...evidently people aren't reading this ;P SO I thought I'd quote it again.
Also, you can just extract the old voice sounds only from this "stuff" file, and put them into the proper directory structure, leaving the "new" stuff file intact. This solves the problem of missing newer sounds not in the original resSND stuff file. -------------------------------------------- Soban... red all the way through and through |

That's part of the problem, she's not British, she's someone trying to do a British accent, but she can't. If you actually are British, which a lot of EVE players are, that's horribly wearing to listen to.
You've winced at a Brit mangling your own accent before, right? Same deal.

I think a choice of 2-3 voices would be nice, maybe even a 'per race' voice, with the option to change between? I personally like the new voice, advit I agree a bit slow talking. The old voice isn't in the files (or atleast not mine)

I'm a newer pilot (eve player) and i didn't hear the old voice but the new one doesn't seem so bad. Of course she's depressed, have you seen the pic of her in the tutorial she's just a head connected to wires and stuff. Anyway an opton of different voices would be nice. FYI. The actor who does the voice for marvin the depressed robot in the Hitchiker's movie is the same guy that played the opostle in Dogma. He's in other stuff too. Another FYI. for the EVEer who asked what she says when you run out of ammo "module has run out of charges". I'm sure your Mojo is fine sweety. If someone tries to kill you, you try to kill them right back. -Malcom Reynolds (Firefly) |
